Former world champion boxer Scott Harrison failed to appear in court on Monday amid reports he had been arrested in Spain.


The 29-year-old, from Cambuslang, near Glasgow, had been due to attend an intermediate hearing at the city's Sheriff Court over an alleged incident at a pub last year.


But the boxer, who is accused of several offences including assaulting a police officer and breach of the peace, failed to appear.


A lawyer acting for the former WBO featherweight champion said he believed Harrison was being held in custody in Spain.


The sheriff continued the case until Wednesday to allow the boxer's lawyers time to gather the facts.


Two other men have also been charged in connection with the incident at the Counting House in Glasgow city centre on April 22.


His co-accused, Paul Hinde, 29, and Christopher Lennon, 21, both of Rutherglen, were present in court today. All three deny the charges.


The Scottish Sun newspaper claimed today that Harrison had been arrested at a bar near the Spanish market town of Coin, where he has a house, after a fight in the early hours of Sunday.


The article said he was expected, along with two other men, to appear at a court near Malaga on Monday.


His agent, Barry Hughes, was unavailable for comment and not present at the court in Glasgow.


Last year Harrison spent almost five weeks in a Spanish jail after he was arrested in October.


He was detained by the Guardia Civil in the Costa del Sol over allegations of assault and trying to steal a car.


That case is expected to call in July.


This guy is in total self destruct mode, unfortunate as he was a good fighter.

What a shame, he needs some sort of psychiatric help. He's had a million chances, if he can't help himself then who will?

Scott Harrison has issues....even if he ever gets back in the ring, I doubt all of this will not have had its impact....

Its a shame...

Drink is his problem its got a hold on him pity but he can only help himself you or I can not stop him drinking he has to do that himself.

Maybe Jamie Oliver can give him a job in his kitchen

Sadly though, that's the path he is going down. I mean, getting into a fight isn't so much the thing as it is that he was in a brothel. WTF?! You would think someone in his circumstance would stay away from a place like that.

i read about this in the sun newspaper in the uk and it said that after the fight four people were treated in hospital........and then i seen a pic of harrison on the bbc website and he has just a wee cut on his nose,he's still got it!!!! ;) ;)

His careers over such a shame , i like scott he bought alot to the sport, he needs mental help to turn his life around.

Yep totally agree he has got life must of us want being world champion but yet throws it away what a waste.

i loved his warrior spirit but was so disapointed when he fucked it all up

He was hard as nails. Saw him beat Nedal Hussein - a great puncher - and if he dedicated himself he could have been a really great fighter. Seems he's going the same way as Benny Lynch who died in his 30s a victim of the demon drink

Nadal Hussain was not a great puncher for 1.
and 2 Harrison wasnt ever in any way shape or form anything more than the WBO JOKE CHAMP.
Warren protected him and was never the best feather in the world.
Also i think he is barmy and will end up in jail.

On the contrary Hussein is a tremendous body puncher - great left hook downstairs. Watch his fight with Pacquiao on youtube. OPlus he rocked Larios in their first fight before freezing.

Scott Harrison is a waste of space. I have said it before and I think so even more now.

He's from a poor background and may be poorly educated (but by no means does that automatically make him thick). He qualifies as an authentic thicko be having been given a gift which could have made him a wealthy and successful man, and then choosing to piss that up the wall.

There are many fighters, honest pros and middle and lower level guys who work hard and dedicate themselves to make the most of their talent. It is an insult to all those people, to the sport as a whole, to his country, to his trainer and team, and to his family to have done what this idiot keeps doing.

Lock him up and throw away the key, as he is not only a danger to himself, he is a danger to innocent bystanders.

He's gonna self destruct sooner or later.
What a waste.
