Awww Congrats!! You two are definitely a good match for each other :)
The big ten eh! That's a great effort! The impression I got with the playful hair messing etc was that you two were still sort of going through an extra extra long honeymoon stage - which is likely to last your whole lives together at this rate! :)
Congrats to you both :) And Monkey you're a very lucky man - how many guys on this board can seriously say their wives/girlfirends/partners/mothers/sisters are seriously able to buy them a training gift knowing exactly what to get without having to ask!
Of course you're both lucky though as is your son to have parents who demonstrate what a long term lasting relationship is meant to be about :)
Right I've done my ohhing and ahhing for the morning - I'm going to have to go do something else before I get all teary (happy tears) and sentimental.....

Sometimes :)
Other times I feel way too sorry for myself and grumpy - you must've noticed me winging a lot too!

Re: Because I Dont Embaress Her Enough,And She Mainly Posts On This Part
Yeah, but someone might get the impression that you're a compulsive smiler.
-
Re: Because I Dont Embaress Her Enough,And She Mainly Posts On This Part
Something tells me you'd be a compulsive smiler in real life Chris.
I mean that as a compliment of course.

Re: Because I Dont Embaress Her Enough,And She Mainly Posts On This Part
And how would you describe that feeling?

Re: Because I Dont Embaress Her Enough,And She Mainly Posts On This Part
Hey, now. Not only is today our 10th anniversary, but Trainer Monkey's birthday is coming up on the 30th :o (right back atcha for looking to embarrass me, Love. Hee Hee :lickish:).
This time it's not boxing related, but I totally scored on his birthday present. He's already starting to try to figure out what it is, but I'm planning to hold out till his birthday.

You asking me Chris?
Not sure what feeling you're referring to but if you mean the feeling I get that you're a compulsive smiler - well never read you complaining about anything, you seem to make a point of liking other people's jokes a lot and always want to offer advice - so yeah I think you're probably a smiler.

Re: Because I Dont Embaress Her Enough,And She Mainly Posts On This Part
Not really, only if it really really deserves a smile, then maybe I'll smile.
Do you think you could ever forget how to smile?
-
Re: Because I Dont Embaress Her Enough,And She Mainly Posts On This Part
I generally smile without thinking - I don't like to take myself too seriously - so no I don't think I could forget how to smile.

I cced just for that
I laugh my ass off all the time, and I smile contendetly while feeding the ducks from our river,in my back yard
And then I put on gloves, and Im different

Re: Because I Dont Embaress Her Enough,And She Mainly Posts On This Part
Yeah I think smiling is healthy too Monkey - I'll CC ya back in 24h.
I still have to smile with gloves on too since if I didn't laugh at how unco I can be I'd be too down on myself to learn anything half the time. I'm not good enough to go into the ring expecting everything I throw to land the way I expect it to.
I think I'd do better if I could relax enough to smile when competing too but still learning to put myself in the best mind set for competition. As Scrap would say I'm still a baby in boxing because I've only had 10 bouts.

We're boxers,not monsters
Actually I believe if you respect it,boxing is one of the most noble ways humans can compete against one another

Re: Because I Dont Embaress Her Enough,And She Mainly Posts On This Part
Yeah, we're not bashing someone on the street - we're testing ourselves against a peer who has trained up and voluntarily gone into the ring to be tested. You're respecting your opponent by giving them your best by going hard.
We're testing all aspects of ourselves - physical, mental and emotional so unless you are matched badly you're not necessarily going to win or loose by a large amount just because you're big or something. Set up correctly boxing is a fair contest.

Re: Because I Dont Embaress Her Enough,And She Mainly Posts On This Part
So Title boxing boots work well for you FeuerFrei?
They only have guys boxing boots in my local stores and they're a bit wide for my narrow feet.
I'm not sure about buying them online coz would like to try them on first.
I have a guys pair but I don't train in them - don't feel right in them. Would be good if I found a pair that fitted a woman's foot that was comfortable enough to train in.
Do you train in yours? Do you think they have enough cushioning for skipping in regularly etc?

Oh yes, I train in mine. That's what helped contribute so much to them wearing out. Mind you I only wear them for skill training definitely not for running or plyometrics or anything like that. The running shoes are on my feet for that. The only thing with the Title boots is that they're cut a little narrow and I have wide feet so I had to put them through a breaking in period. Once I got them all broken in, they felt just fine. I guess since my feet are a little big, I tend to fit into the men's shoes better than a lot of other women. But maybe the narrow cut might work for you.
