Is Shannon Briggs INSANE???

You have to watch all of the Ibragimov fight to really grasp the insanity. Briggs barely threw A power punch per round and he staggared around the ring getting countered for 12 full rounds. He was SO HORRIBLE over 12 rounds that during the final round people who once shouted "USA" started chanting "SHANNON SUCKS!" and in the final round he didn't even try to score a KO after his corner yelled at him to!

He was out of breath the entire fight....I think more because he weighed damn near 280 pounds but he would like everyone to think it's because he has asthma. However he was curiously not out of breath when it came time for him to speak (of course) Shannon Briggs said and I quote (and you can see it in the video)

"AAAAAAAHHHH, I'M BACK AND I AIN'T GOIN NOWHERE....HA!"

I still can't see how people thought Shannon would win. I mean seriously, I ain't no Briggs hater it was just pretty clear to see how much better SUltan was then Briggs.

I haven't seen the fight yet, I will watch it tonight and give you my thoughts on it.

Sultan did a good job of surviving but let's remember Ray Austin blasted Sultan a couple times.....which shows you Shannon's power for that fight.

I am not sold on Sultan being a great fighter or great enough to beat most of the other title holders....a fight vs Chagaev would be great though.


Shannon threw that shit away, I don't know what he was smoking but I hope it was good

I dont see Sultan as a threat to much of the division.. CHagaev imo beats him in an entertaining afair..

I really want to see Wlad and Peter clear up the division separately then come together two titles a piece for the long awaited rematch and THE UNIFICATION..

Its got to happen now yo..

It would be nice maybe to see vitali in the mix with some of these fighters..But i survived fine while he was gone and he has more to prove because of his retirement..

But frankly i leave it down to peter and Wlad...

HGH...there you go.....additional supplements let you get huge without working really hard at it....sure, you still have to work out but not nearly as hard...hence asthma has no way of hindering him....

Putting Briggs' cockiness aside, he has accomplished an incredible amount in his career considering his severe asthma (which I heard he has to take 7 different medications a day for). That really is spectacular.

Yeah good post. I watched the fight last night and when he said that it was like i couldnt work out what he was talking about because surely he couldn't have been talking about himself. He wheezed his way round the ring for 12 rounds looking like he was trying to swat flies or something.

Well I watched the fight last night and that was as convinceable as a win could be. Briggs did rock Sultan, I liked that Sultan showed poise and weathered thru that.

Still I think no one really posses a threat to Wlad. The only one I see giving Wlad issues is Peter and that means Peter with his A game.

Shannon Briggs is doodeelaalally! His performance against Sulton was poor to say the least.

He has absolutely NO output whatsoever and seems to throw a single power shot every third round or so. He should be ashamed of himself, instead of making excuses and crying like a hugely oversized mutant baby.

I dont think we will see Briggs at the top again. He has earned a bit of money and will probably fight a few journeymen before falling off the radar completely.
