Sergio Mora's back in action....
Mora fights on the 3rd of August agains former world champ Raymond Joval 36-4 (14).
Looks a good opponent and ranked #12 by boxrec
Could Mora could be on for his first defeat??????
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
This is a good solid op. for him... I wish him the best
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
Fudge this!
Sergio Mora vs Peter Manfredo Jr. @ catch weight.
That is what I am talking about in Rhode Island.
It will happen.
Believe that!
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
This is a good fight for the Latin Snake! He is still largely untested. Although he has gone 19 fights he has no blemish on his record. He needs to start uping his game now tho!!!
4 KOs in 19 ain't great tho!!! ::** ::**
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
About time he fought someone with a heartbeat.
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
Good choice of opponent. They seem pretty evenly matched to me, this is a guarenteed decision fight , neither have the k.o. power to stop the other. I think Joval gets outboxed, I dont know if Sergio has a chin, but if he can take Manfredo's shots I think he can take Jovals no prob.
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
I'm still a little soar about his second fight with Manfredo. I really feel Mangfredo won that fight. I hope Joval cleans his clock but I don't know enough about him to make an asessment.
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
Joval will be Mora's hardest fight to date. He is a very solid fighter and fought at a higher level than Mora. I havent seen Mora fight aside from the Manfredo fights so who knows how good he really is. Joval CAN hurt Mora and will if he makes mistakes or gets cocky.
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
Joval is an all around well schooled fighter who could give Mora problems.
Joval has a strong chin, enough energy and a never say die mentality.
That's why he is loved by the boxing community in Holland

Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
Mora's a joke. and a p*ssy for not takin the taylor fight.
Screw him, and anything he tries to do from here on

I'm no Mora fan, but he despite the fact that he has no power, he probably is a legit top 10 MW, so for you, who has likely never had his hands taped in his life to call Mora a p*ssy is recockulous. You get an SC. And I think you're like the second sc i've ever given out.
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
Mora pulling out of the taylor fight still really dissapoints me......he jumps out from the contender and has only faced contender type competiton at best since.....now all of the sudden he gives off the impression like he is in a position to call shots like there is something huge to be gained by someone beating him.....i hope joval comes out with his little blond afro halo thing and whoops his ass.....although i do belive it will be a 12 round decision that can go either way.....

again SC...im in tears...
SC me until your Big Bad Mouse wears out..it will never change the fact that sergio mora turned down an opportunity he didnt deserve...so maybe p*ssy was a bad word to use since he DID get in the ring at one time. I think maybe i shoulda used B!tch instead.
yea that sounds better.... Mora's a bitch

Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
I really didn't think you care if I give you an SC. By my similar +/- ratio, it's pretty clear that I don't care if I get SC'd either. The point I was trying to illustrate is that if you're getting SC'd by me, you've made a pretty rediculous statement. To call a professional prizefighter, much less a decent one, a pu55y is rediculous.
As for calling him your b!tch, same argument applies.
I would love to see you walk up to Sergio Mora in a bar/boxing gym, and tell him he's a pu55y or that he's your b!tch.

Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
Im sorry, i didnt know i wasnt entitled to my own opinion.
In the world of boxing, with all the rough heavy hearted fighers out there, sergio mora is a bitch. Maybe compared to Normal civilians he isnt. But in the boxing world, when gatti, ward, holyfield, lewis, name is mentioned you better believe that sergio moras name will not be involved, why? Cuz those men arent bitches. Those men fought, whether it was their home turf, or not, whether those men were ready or not..Those men fought. Not cry because the fight isnt gonna be in his momma's kitchen, so to say it once more.
Sergio Mora= Beyotch

Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
I don't think we could....he only fights at bars in his hometown !!! Jus playin...his comments might have been a little extreme but i can understand the frustation and dissappointment with mora's actions, i don't think he's a pussy but that was a bitch move on his part, now he needs to redeem himself and build back the respect he may or may not deserve.
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
blah blah blah...... tell me when he's actually gonna face soembody worth a damn.

I think Mora is a pretty decent boxer but I tend to agree with you. At least Manfredo gave it a shot... Those are once maybe twice in a lifetime opportunities to fight for a title!

Manfredo stepped up, got embarrased and is now back fighting the Ted Muller's of the boxing world.
Sergio did the right thing. He ain't ready for a world title shot yet, he's not even had 20 fights yet.
Give him time.
He's already beaten Ishe Smith, Manfredo twice, Jesse Brinkley, Erick Regan and Turmeliksetian.
Its's way beyond where Ricky Hatton was at after 19 fights.
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
I dont think Mora beats Ishe smith in a 12 round fight. I think he got kinda lucky the first time he fought him

EXACTLY!!!!
Look where Manfredo is. Best if Mora take the Taylor fight when he feels he's ready instead of rushing int o
"put up a good fight" come to WIN is what he wants

If Ishe fought Mora the same way he fought Sechew Powell I'm fairly sure Mora would get a decsion.
Ishe's got skills but he don't work. Sergio, hate him or not always gives 100% of himself in a fight and is constantly throwing.
I know his punches have no power but he could still outwork and outbox Ishe over 10 or 12 rounds.

ok, peter manfredo(again im not a big peter lover)to the calzaghe fight in wales, and got beat up. BUT, at least he did what boxers do, and thats use the chance given to them, peter may be fighting ted muller's of the world...Sergio didnt take the taylor fight cuz he was scared, and he's fighting jovaL? WOW ur right, Sergio sure outpointed everyone else in his career choices there. lmao
Cmon....Give me a break. You kno mora wont beat taylor, he knows he wont beat taylor, he is trying to ride the latin fake gravy train as long as possible over there in Cali. He is not only afraid to fight the best out there, but he is afraid to be exposed too.

Just wanted to point out that Joval is not a former world champ. He's a pretty good fighter, top ten contender, but he was never a world champion. I don't think Mora will be either. Should be a good fight.

No I don't agree at all. Sergio wasn't scared he was just thinking smart. He knew he wouldn't get a decision in Memphis and was unhappy with the last minute switch of venue so he turned it down.
To me that wasn't the mark of a scared man, it was actually evidence of his self belief and confidence that he can make a mark in boxing.
If he didn't think he had a chance to win a world title he would have gone for the payday and grabbed the first title shot that came along before he got exposed fighting a top 10 ranked fighter for a lot less money.
I like Sergio and think he has a chance beating some of the top guys at 160 lbs. His career s coming along nicely although he could be a little more active.

To set the record straight, Joval was world MW champion at the very lightly regarded I.B.O.

Glad you believe everything everyone says... I got some waterfront property in Florida for ya :P
What boxer in their right might doesnt think he has a chance to win, he said before turning down taylor that he could stand with him, he could give him a hell of a fight. Its sad when a fighter doesnt have enough confidence in himself that he has to use a LOCATION to opt out of a fight. Location location, its bullshit. If he trains like a boxer, talks like a boxer, then he should F*ckin act like one. He can sure look tough Toe'n a line against eric reagan, but man he chicken danced away from JT.
You can buy his story about location, ill stick to my theory. He didnt want this ride to end so soon.

So in other words he just has a good looking record

No, he has a decent record and he was on the verge of fighting A Abrams but he got injured
-
Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
Regardless hes a step up in competition but hes just as much a fringe contender as mora is.

Yes, and with more experience !!

and who probably would of accepted a fight with Taylor with open arms and a kiss.

Re: Sergio Mora's back in action....
You bet. He would relish the chance !!
