Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Being A kostya fan my happiest after fight moment was when he beat Zab. Many in the media had Zab as the next big thing and i had my worries that he would beat KT. After the first round i was even more nervous, cos he out boxed kostya. Then in the second BAM it was over and i was ecstatic.
My saddest moment was when he couldnt come out for the last against Hatton. Sad to see a warrior like KT finished and i kinda knew it was his last fight.
What the Happiest or saddest moment u guys have had?

Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Saddest is hands down for me....Nigel Benn Vs. Gerald McClellan. Maybe not right when it happened, but looking back in retrospec. Kind of bummed me out when Morales didnt get up in the third match with Pacman, you could just see the disappointment on his face. Bonsante's kids balling after Duddy split his head open..wasnt a happy time. Almost every Tyson fight after Holyfield 2. Happiest ...I got to think about but I'm always happy when my fighter wins.Might be Ward beating Gatti in that first fight.

Atleast when Lewis beat him he was getting beaten by a good fighter. I thought it was sadder when he got tko'd by a nuff nuff like Mcbride

Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Far and away my saddest was Calzaghe - Lacy and everything else absolutely pales in comparision. I was literally gutted to the point where I was even sad in my regular day life. Was a terrible time, had friends over who saw him in the Super Bowl commercial, made them watch the Reid fight beforehand. Round 1 starts, just didn't look like Lacy. But I remained optimistic. Then about round 8 I think it was. It kind of sank in and I realized what was happening. I watched the rest and honestly, my jaw was dropped. It was depressing. Really it was. I went on the RBR, expressed my disappointment and how I thought Lacy could have made it a great fight, and I was showered with sad clicks ;D I'm being serious I got like 20 of those in one day.
The maddest was the Wright - Taylor decision.

Nice one. Isn't that when Hopkins did something to Titos flag in a pre fight thing and he had to run for his life out of the stadium b/c all titos fans got so angry? That was sooo funny I laughed my as off.
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Happiest = When Pac defeated Morales in their 2nd fight.
Saddest = When Pac defeated Morales convincingly in their 3rd fight. I don't know why, but I felt sorry for Erik that night. I hated seeing him go down like that. Some people sees is it passing the torch, but I see it as quitting.

Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
I danced the happy jig when Bhop took out Tito

That's the one.
Hopkins has always gone above & beyond to be the bad guy & sell the fight...I was shocked shitless that he pulled that stunt, then hammered Trinidad out, & then apologized publicly for both.

Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
I was happy when Valuev lost because he realy didnt deserve to better Rockys record with his standard of opponents.
Too many sad ones to list as there have been plenty.

You know what?
I actually wanted to see Valuev keep on running undefeated...not in regards to Rocky's record...but I just wanted to see him prove himself as a fighter.

Yeah the fight was a surprise. I didn't know much about Hopkins at the time except he was always talking about how good he was and he seemed like a bit of a dick. Tito was better known to me and I thought he was going to hand him his ass on a plate. After the fight B-Hop apologized as you said. It took me a while to figure him out but have plenty of respect for him now and don't buy the bad guy talk. At least that silly S&M mask is gone now. Isn't it? Please let it be gone.

Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Happy: Hopkins-Trinidad or Tarver-Jones II
Sad: Mathew Hilton KO's Wilfred Benitez.
Very Angry: Lewis-Holyfield I Holyfield totally outboxed but gifted with the draw.

I always saw him as very beatable with a guy who could move and counter properly. I always wanted him to fight Wlad and I still hope he will as I think his size would be much less a factor and his skill level would be exposed.

Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Calzaghe - Lacy still remains the fight I can not bare to watch. Just sucks to much for me, I mean I'd like to say Lacy is an idol of sorts. Tremendous heart, will power, he's a very hard worker and by all accounts is a stand up guy. Kind of sad to say, but I can watch Mancini - Kim or Griffith - Paret, but not Calzaghe - Lacy.
Still, Lacy will get back and hopefully make some more memories like Tito did to erase one VERY bad one. Bad memory in the context of boxing anyways.
Happiest moment is a lot of them. Peter - Toney II I was very happy about, and I showed it afterwards :D When Winky Wright dominated Tito, that was awesome.
Mayweather beating Oscar was AWESOME. But it left me with kind of a "what now?" effect in the days afterwards. Kind of like when the Super Bowl is played and the Pro Bowl is next. It's football, but you don't care quite as much. Luckily Pavlik and Miranda picked up the slack and filled the void from May 5 to June 9. Also, the Margarito - Williams build up is getting good.
Corrales KO'ing Castillo was the most pulse pounding, extreme adrenilane rush.
But probably Winky - Tito for me.
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
I can't really say I remember my happiest but I sure as hell was happy when b hop put a clinic on tarver, I thought that would shut his ass up but no I was wrong it didn't shut anything up, it just made him delusional in more ways than one.
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Happy KT v Zab
Saddest Holmes V Ali
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
HAPPIEST: Holmes destroying Cooney
Corrales KO's Castillo
Terry Norris whoopin Leonard
SADDEST: Douglas KO's Tyson
Byrd and Williamson( i was ashamed to love boxing after that fight)
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
I was pretty sad when Danny Green was dq'd against Beyer. He would have won - he was killing him. I still reckon if Johhny Lewis was in his corner he would have won. I think there was too much aggression from fenech.
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
HAPPIEST:
KOSTYA TSZYU defeated SHARMBA MITCHELL (2nd Fight)
SADDEST:
LENNOX LEWIS defeated MIKE TYSON.
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
saddest was when Byrd got beat around the ring by Wlad in the rematch.
i'm not sure what my happiest is.
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Saddest was when Hopkins beat Trinidad... I could not believe the ease off it all.
Happiest when Corrales got up twice to KO Castillo. Truly amazing.
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Happiest-
Hagler over Hearns
:coolclick: to CutMeMick- Duran over SRL-I was alive to watch that fight.
Lewis over Holy-finally got what he deserved.
Holmes over Cooney
Morrales over Pac
Saddest-
Douglas over Tyson
BHOP OVER TITO-F@@@ that, I'm still hurt
Leonard over Duran 2
Leonard over Hagler-which I still don't believe-And I'm not in denial.
Have to add Floyd to my happiest- Chico,JLC,Gatti,Oscar- In my honest opinion, (with the exception of Gatti), I thought Floyd might lose. But, when you've watched a fighter from day 1, and been a fan, and he prevails, and even proved your fears wrong, you got to love it. Even though I debate with my unbiased opinion, I give shouts to those who root with their hearts, no matter who your favorite is.
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
I am a Thomas Hearns fan and the saddest I was was after Hagler beat him in 1985.. And when Barkley beat him in 1988.. Actually depressed me. Happiest when Hearns beat Roldan and when he fought Ray well. Another happy time was when Tyson became champ. Also happy when Judah was stopped by Tsyzu.
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Happiest: When Winky beat Taylor/Winky dismanteling Tito, even though I'm a big Trinidad fan, I'm a bigger Winky fan and that fight got me into boxing.
Saddest: When the judges robbed Winky/Corrales losing to Clottey and then passing away shortly after (RIP Chico)
I was also pretty damn happy watching Sergio Mora beat Manfredo to win a cool 1mil, even though that show is a damn joke.
I'm sure that won't be a popular opinion, but who cares.

CC on all fronts. I was beside myself the entire Winky - Taylor fight, I never yelled quite like that before. Then when the scorecards were announced, and my friends who were cracking up at me can vouch for this, I threw my hat and it like boomeranged around a plant and landed back on the couch. Weird. But yeah, Wright won that damn fight every way you look at it. Overall he got it, and he won enough rounds. He ran away for like 30 seconds after a good round and got slighted for it. BS >:mad

Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
Saddest: When Mundine knocked out nice guy Sam Soliman
Happiest: When nice guy Ottke knocked out Mundine

saddest - matthew macklin gettin KO'd by jamie moore n taken to hospital
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
its kind of a toss up for me. Being a huge james toney fan one of the saddest was when he got robbed in the first Peter fight and another one with James was when he came in way over wieght for the Rahman fight, because I'm sure he could of won if he was in right shape and he would have won the HW belt. Its sad because I'm just not sure if James has it in him to beat any of the current belt holders and I would have loved to see James win a HW strap.
-
Re: Happiest/Saddest u've been after a fight???
