Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
If you can, change the channel to ESPN 2 right now. This fight is an absolutely fantastic clash of two exciting styles. Both touched the canvas, and the fans have been rained on heavily and are now crowding the ring, the atmostphere is crazy. Truly entertaining.
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
befor the fight i was picking Ngoudjo to win but i think that its sad they did that to Bailey who i think won the fight in a close decision. Bailey did look better like he had said and it showed!
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
BAILEY GOT FREAKING ROBBED
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
Bailey didn't get robbed. It was a very close fight. There were a few rounds that Bailey did nothing but throw that soft jab and didn't shoot with that right hand. Ngoudjo would not land as much, but he would land the more effective blows even if they were just a couple lunging shots on the inside before getting tied up.
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
Guess what I realized when Jean Pascal walked out tonight...
He is infact NOT Jean Paul Mendy!
What the hell was I thinking?!
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
I thought Bailey outboxed Ngodjo and should of won the fight. He did let the kid back into the fight in the championship rounds, but still he should have won the fight.
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
I'm glad Ngoudjo won, but not if it was a shady decision... the funny thing is, they were in Montrael, and TSN, the station that sometimes shows WNF and FNF didn't even show the fight... :-\
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
I thought Bailey won that fight!
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
I thought a lot of rounds could have gone either way. Lots of those rounds Bailey was moving back and was pawing with a soft jab while Herman Ngoudjo was moving forward and only landing a couple punches. Herman also went to the body a lot more which doesn't really win rounds unless you hurt the guy.
I thought both got a fair shake, it could have gone either way I believe. But props to Bailey, put on a hell of a fight. I wouldn't mind a rematch, I really enjoyed that one.
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
Did Bailey hurt Ngoudjo bad when he dropped him? Because he packs a punch and Ngoudjo was caught cleanly a couple of times VS Castillo and didn't really ever seem fazed.
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
Also, Pascal is going to be a star. How explosive is he? Teddy was very down on him, but I loved it. I've talked to Christian Cruz a few times and caught him at some shows, Bay Area guy, but damn he got rocked.
What a great card, an excellent season of FNF and that was probably my favorite.

Umm, well from what I remember, Ngoudjo was bent over at the hip, and as he was coming up was caught square and went to the side a bit. He took one step, crossed his feet over and stumbled in between the ropes. The referee didn't let Bailey give chase because I guess his glove touched the ground or the ropes held him up. He was definitely hurt, but after the standing 8 he was on steady legs. It was a punch he didn't see and he had bad balance.

CC and thanks, I wish I could've seen this fight, you'd think the Canadian sports network would perhaps decide it was a good idea to show a promising Canadian fighter, fighting on American network TV while fighting in Canada.... ???

No kidding. And this was a great card, 3 very good Canadians in Herman, Pascal and Decaire (I know I mispelled that)

Thats where Bailey screwed up,he had him hurt, and didnt end him
When it was over,I turned to the wife and said,"And thats why you dont let it go to the cards in the other guys home turf"

a fighter should never give away the last two rounds and think they gonna win a close fight..
Fight hard till the final bell always.
Re: Friday Night Fights: Ngoudjo - Bailey
I gave that first round 10-8, I didnt think Bailey won it clearly before the knockdown...Teddy was just pulling his usual road dog scorecard out. I actually thought it could either be a draw or Bailey won by a sliver. Ngoudjo came on strong at the end and stole it. The crowd was great for this fight.
