LOL I forgot I'm talking about Judah - Cotto of course
:appl: completely agree. Tonight we saw the best Miguel Cotto take on the best Zab Judah, and the real winners we're the fans, and the sport in general. As crazy as Tito v Vargas, as vicious as Castillo v Corrales and at the same time a level of sportsmanship and respect as Tszyu v Hatton. FIGHT OF THE YEAR.
Yoits...it was a great fight but Tito-Vargas, Corrales-Castillo were both better! If Judah was a little more active it wouldve been on par with those...he did show great heart. The problem was...Cotto dominated the fight. I gave Judah 1, 3, and 7 and I was rooting for zab. Cotto the destroyer. Zab showed alot...great heart, great speed, excellent power...problem was he was not active enough! Still, a GREAT FIGHT!Quote:

I know, I guess i'm just still a bit high of of it, but it had elements of those fights with all the the fouls, the knockdowns and the fact that every punch was intended for a KO.
Yeah I totally agree... I picked Judah to win and therefore obviously was pulling for him... But he just didn't make it close enough in general to warrant FOTY. To Zab's credit he showed a shit load more heart then he ever has, and a lot more then I thought he had in him.... And wow Cotto is a wrecking ball, he looked fantastic tonight. Zab imo didn't fight up to his best ability but he really hadn't fought in a year and did fairly well considering. Cotto was also much smarter than he has been in the past tonight. His defence was fairly tight and he looked a touch faster then he has if you ask me. Either way both guys deserve a ton of credit for making it such a great fight.Quote:

Not the best Zab Judah there is ever been, because Zab changes into a new Judah 365 days a year ;)Quote:

great fight. this was by far the best zab ever in a long time as even in a losing effort he finally personified a true prizefighter. I think a rematch would be a career suicide for Zab coz Cotto hands out beatings that shorten careers. Miguel finally enters my top ten pound for pound list, he would also do very well against Margarito but I would keep him away from Mayweather
I got another word fur you...BORICUAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
HAHAHA great fight. Judah showed great heart but Cotto showed more. He was rocked 3 times and just kept on coming. What a fight.
I don't think people think Zab has a glass chin anymore
Yep I think Id rank Cotto as a top 10 p4p fight as well now honestly... He would DESTROY Margarito. That would be an absolute massacre, I don't care what anyone says. I think the best opponent for Miguel to take next would be Mosley, without a doubt. Like you say,(though I really don't agree that he should be kept away from Mayweather) he probably wouldn't beat Floyd, but as far as him cementing a legacy as well as taking on the best challenges and fights which he can improve in, Sugar Shane is the fight for him imo. If he can beat Mosley then Mayweather vs Cotto would be massive.Quote:

I think it had hints and taste of Tito/Vargas.Quote:

This is and was Crazy azz Miguel 'The Robot' Cotto.
A fighter who is programed to entertain.
That's my boy.
;)
No one has done that to zab what cotto did. even though zab wasn't as seriously hurt as he was against tszyu this was by far 10 times more brutalQuote:

Fight of the year ? LOL you had a tentatitve & scared Zab and a systematic yet fully exposed to clean punches Cotto. If Cotto takes that defense into a fight against Margarito or Williams you will see a fully exposed boxer. I like Cotto but saw a very beatable fighter tonight. Why Zab did not throw enough punches I do not understand.
i'm not down playing cotto's win. it's just i've never read so many positive judah post before.Quote:

Isn't there some middle ground here?!? While Judah isn't the world's greatest boxer, why is he all of a sudden a bum? 'Cause Cotto beat him? C'mon people. Give Cotto some credit for once. Judah is a VERY skillful, dangerous opponent. The fight was great, but in the end Judah couldn't handle Cotto's firepower.
For the record, IMO Cotto would have his hands full with PBF, but he would crush Margarito inside of 10 rounds.
that's what happens..when fighters win they only fight bums..when they lose the weren't that great to begin with...Quote:

it was to see if cotto is really ready for the next level..and he past the test with flying colors...because the things that are his flaws i don't see him getting better..so he's ready for williams, margarito, shane, pbf, all of them...no more "he's too green"
I'd say a couple of good hard shots to the nuts are well worth a points deduction. way to go cotto! sad.Quote:

It was not the breakout star calling of Cotto Salami..... Outside of Clottley who has Margarito looked sloppy against ? I would love to see how Cotto would react to more offensive minded fighters with punch such as Clottley or Margarito?

Help me understand which one of these boxers on Cottos' record is feared for punching power and a successful offensive attack? Help me understand which ones went on to be successful world champions?
So rather than argue with you regarding obviously your favorite boxer, I chose to present facts. Of those fighterss with records that appear good I invite readers to view their records and the caliber of opponents. Of those That Cotto has knocked out or beaten PBF, Zab, Hatton, V. Harris, Shamba Mitchell and lesser foes have also put a whooping on. So cease on the anointing oil Cotto Salami is not there yet !!
Cotto profile in some haters eyes:
No chin
No stamina
No boxing abilities ( man Cotto was cracking Judah with that Jab all night)
No speed
Judah Profile in some haters eyes:
NO Heart
He has the other qualities
All I can say is this: ---> :rofmaoal:
I like Cotto's chances against Mayweather and Mosely. Cotto just fought arguably the fastest hands in the division in Judah and look what happened to him. Mayweather may defeat Cotto but he won't destroy him physically. Mosely has the combination of power and speed that might give Cotto more problems than Judah and Mayweather.
My FOTY also
judah is not faster pbf..he just looks that way because he uses a slow jab to set up his fast left...pbf lead with the straight right and still beat judah to the punch....Quote:

Cotto - Judah was a great fight. It is precisely the vulnerable fighters that give us great fights. You are not going to tell me that Gatti didn't look vulnerable in ALL of his great and memorable fights are you?Quote:

He kept his cool and showed great heart, something that was missing in many of his previous fights.
Another reason this was a great performance for Cotto is because most (including myself) predicted that this fight depended mainly on one thing: which Judah will come to fight. If the good Judah came to fight, Cotto would lose. If the bad Judah came out, Cotto would win. Well the good Judah came in to fight with guns blazing and Cotto still won. Don't knock on the guy for giving us all a great fight.
I can't wait for Margarito - Williams, should be another classic. Keep em coming guys, Boxing has a great future ahead of it.
It was a great fight but I think to be fight of the year it has to be competative and equally matched and this really was just a beatdown.
Mormeck Bell 2 is still my favourite fight of the year, even if Mormeck did run like a lil bitch at the end.
