Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito Would Be The Fight Of The Year No Question

Both men have good chins both come forward Margarito throws so many power punches just the possibility of this match makes me so excited this would be excellent i see Cotto winning but what a fight it would be i hope Margarito beats crap out of Williams so we can see it.

Cotto-Margarito would be a war. No doubt about it.

The styles gel well, It is a potential FOTY but Margarito getting past Paul Williams is no certainity. 'The Punisher' is a good fighter

Margarito has good chin he would last quite a long time i think Sal.

Both can hit hard but I think Margarito hits a little harder. Margarito has a great chin, Cotto's chin is questionable. If anyone gets ktfo, it will be Cotto.

This is what boxing needs. Cotto-Margarito match-up, wow.\ July 14 Margarito needs to prove himself first.

Margarito has a reputation for having an iron chin and we've all seen Cotto get rocked a couple of times now and I don't think Margarito will let Cotto off the hook like Judah did. As a Cotto fan, the main concern for me in this fight is the height difference - Cotto is listed as being 5'7 and Margarito is listed at 5'11, that's a big advantage for Margarito who from what I've seen like's to fight at a bit of a distance. Margarito is also listed as having a 73" to 67" reach advantage over Cotto, those differences could very well determine this fight.

Finally enough of this pbf stuff he's so called retired let him stay there....now this is a match-up that would be entertaining !!

I hope he beats Williams also. Especially after Williams thinks he did so well sparring Margarito. I think the Cotto/Margarito fight is a great fight. Hope it happens.

If it comes off, it better hyped up. This is the fight that needs 2million ppv buys.

Cotto-Judah so far is my FOTY for 07.

I think Margarito might be a lot of trouble for Cotto, he likes to throw those scything uppercuts and hooks a lot like the uppercut that Judah hurt Cotto with more than a few times, at the same time Cotto is just lethal and could neutralize Margarito with the come forward aggression like Clottey did to an extent. Margario's last fight showed a lot of ring rust, I reckon he'd be in much better shape if he fights Cotto, we'll see when he fights Williams, that's a tough fight.

You would of asked me a year ago i would probably have said Margarito but after the judah fight ,you could see the bad intentions in cotto when he shoots to the body and also how he adjusted to his fighters ,Cotto is a whole new champion ,Margarito will get hit to the body and go down in the 5th ,but i dont see him winning Paul .

I can't wait for this one. I'm a huge fan of both guys, Tony needs to get it done on the 14th. Let's hope he wins so we can get a real treat later in the year.

It would be an amzing fight between my 2 favourites BUT lwt's not jump too far ahead. Margarito has a very very tough assignment with PW,he should be focusing on that first.

and for SOME REASON I think Margarito would win :o call me crazy but my opinion hasn't changed

Williams: Margarito will be a great fight. No talk should be about Cotto: Margarito until this has been played out.

Of all the fighters in the WW division, Margarito is by far the most dangorous for Cotto. I'm from PR and am a big fan of Cotto but as was said before, the hight and reach advantages, the fact that Margarito knows how to use his hight and Cotto's slightly questionable chin make this a tough task for Cotto.

I actually think Cotto has a better shot at Mosley. I hope Williams beats Margo because, even though Williams is also a tall guy with even more reach, he does not use his hight well and likes to get close and brawl more. He is sometimes compared to Tommy Hearns but he fights nothing like him. Cotto would beat him I think.

CC for telling it as you see it. I can relate although I WANT tONY to win because he and Cotto are my 2 faves! Tony has the tools to beat Cotto,anyone can see that. I favour Cotto over Mosley/Williams too.

I have a very strong feeling this is not Majesty.

Margarito would have to be favored on style and punching power. He is a legit 147 pounder unlike Zab. Zab was still a small welterweight.
