The busyer Pavlik outpoints and somewhat punishes a tentative Taylor.  The cat is gun shy and guess what...?  Pavlic will not be afraid of taylor.  I know Miranda is not a skilled boxer but he is fairly acurate and puches like a mule kick.  Taylor will be hard pressed. 
Fwock Talor...  Yes he has beaten the best out there...  I think Pavlik has the ability to KO some of the best!

Height and reach are similar, but Taylor has faster hands. I like Taylor's jab more than Pavlik's. Taylor has more big fight experience.

I hope Pavlik wins, but I think JT takes this one. He's faster than Pavlik, has faced by far the better competition (even though in my mind he lost some of the fights), has better footwork, a better jab, and decent power.
That being said, I don't know if Taylor's ever been in the ring with a pressure fighter like Pavlik who happens to pack one hell of a punch.
I think this fight comes down to Taylor's jab (if he uses it) and his superior footwork, speed, and defense - he'll make the slower Pavlik miss a lot I think; Pavlik seems to have the reputation for tiring in the later rounds.
But goddamn I hope Taylor loses.
No he hasn't been in with a preasure fighter like Pavlik... But I will say this, I think some of the most preasure that Jermaine has seen came frome Winky... A small Middlewieght... Kelly would pose huge problems..Quote:

Taylor hasnt got the work rate to beat Pavlik , i think he gets busted up over a 12 round distance with Pavlik winning ud.

I think taylor is a fighter who only performs to the level of intensity demanded by the opponent. i.e. he never felt threatened by Spinks/Ouma so he never really exerted himself.
Pavlik will demand Jermaine to exert himself and i believe when he does we will see the best middleweight in the world....

I hear what you're saying... I have seen Taylor fight down to opposition and also meet better opposition head on and look pretty good. Calzaghe has that weird trait he fights down to lesser opponants sometimes i.e. Bika... Bika although lost kinda slapped Joe around a few times and Joe is to good for that.Quote:

Pavlik is a power punching machine but I think Taylor could win this fight. JT is technically superior to Miranda(Pavliks biggest name on his resume) and I think JT's jab could be a factor in this fight. Having said that,his power has let him down thus far against far far smaller guys and if his jab(which has been virtually non existent in his last few fights) is not present v Kelly,Pavlik is going to beat on him all night.
As Pavlik showed v Zertuche,Zuniga and Miranda,he is willing to take whatever you have to get to you. I'd say Pavlik UD but I would not count out Jermain.
Well brother, that's the problem, Taylor HAS the talent, he just doesn't use it.

I totally agree... Manny Steward did nothing for him during his fights cuz he refuses to listen... I am sure manny did alot for him in camp to prepare him for has fights but when it comes down to it a soldier needs to listen to his general or there is no point in him being on the battlefield!Quote:

The best thing about this matchup is that really no one knows what to expect cause you don't know what taylor is gonna show up...we haven't seen the taylor that impressed us so much for a while. I say if the old taylor shows he beats pavlik in a tough fight....

Taylor is not sloppy. He is a sharp puncher who fights the fight of his opponents and still wins. He actually fights his opponents fight and still comes out ahead by having the ability to know what he has to do to win, even though he comes close in decisions alot. He is not the fighter Hopkins was, but he is a sharp fighter.
In a sense i believe that JT may actually be one of the most naturally gifted and special fighters around today. One thing i feel supports this is that he is such a naturally athletic guy we rarely see him tired (which indicates he can exert himself a lot more if demanded.) He also posseses a physique pretty much ideal fo middle/super middleweight boxing, It's my opinion that taylor needs a come forward battler like pavlik to bring out the aggresive side in him.
I want Taylor to lose but I've got a feeling he won't.
Its not like you can just look at the Miranda fight and see how a Taylor-Pavlik fight would go. Miranda had no idea how to fight off his back foot, that's why it was a good idea for Pavlik to come forward and push him back. Miranda looked panicked, he rushed too much, he only really knows how to fight coming forward.
Taylor's different, he knows how to fight going backwards, and he's kind of akward when he's fighting that way. His speed will let him land the flashier punches, and if its even a reasonably competitive fight Taylor's gonna get the decision.
Going by rescent fights it would have to be a pavlik win but i gotta a feeling jt will get a ud or possibly stop him.
I think Taylor rises to the occasion and wins a decision, thats assuming he can step his game up.

The thing is, Taylor is a very good boxerm alot better than pavilk. But he is so damn lazy in the ring and showing no heart it is pissing me off so much.
Now Pavilk, Lets be honest - its lucky this boy can hit hard as hell coz if he didn't he would be packing your bags ate your local kwiki-mart. Nothing agasint the guy he has alot of hard, but he has slow as hell hand speed, footwork aint bad, but he isn't exactly the hardest guy to tatto either. His punching arsenal seems pretty limited as well.
Right now i would think Pavilk wins because of taylor piss poor showings of late, but Taylor has what it takes to vastly out box and embaress pavilk imo... it will depend soly on how Taylor comes into this fight.
Who knows, maybe because hee expected to get through the spinks and ouma fights so easily he didn't really try - and pavilk being a big threat and such a hard hitter taylor might suprise us and turn up.
