Think this would be a interesting fight think Spinks would win over Jones by a decision
I think Spinks might knock out Jones. He had a good right hand.
Simple for me Prime Roy doesnt loose to anybody :)
problem is neither did Michael Spinks.Quote:

Close but i lean towards Spinks"by ud
So f...ing akward and blessed with the "Spinks Jinx
Jones by decision he is faster more powerful he does everything better than Spinks i think he would tko Spinks late on.
Maybe i would have to point out the weight they would be at when they fought.
Heavyweight i go with spinks because he acomplished more then jones and fought tougher oppsition
And even at light heavyweight i think Michael spinks would of won he was bigger and had the punch to put Roy Jones away if he nailed him right or i think he just out point him Micheal was awkward to hit Roy would have problems with trying to land on Micheal in my opinion but thats just me
Spinks wasn't that great at hw he should of lost both fights to faded Holmes he ducked Tony Tucker beat a washed up Cooney and got sparked out in a round against Tyson Jones still was better in every department than Spinks was at Lightheavyweight or Heavyweight.Quote:

In this case you are going to get a great fighter of tactics. Roy would have to move very well to avoid the right hand of Spinks. Spinks is better than anyone Roy has ever fought.Quote:

Jones was a great fighter. No doubt. But his opposition was not that great outside of Toney and McCallum (old). Spinks had great opposition. He made Qawi emotionally quit after Qawi took the right hand.
Roy dealt with akward styles well if they had 3 fights Jones would definetly win 2 out of 3.Quote:

This is a UD win for prime Jones jr, how would he go against Bob Foster?
Foster was a wicked puncher and as we all know now Jones when hit stayed hit!
Quawi quit in a few fights, and a totally different fighter than Roy. Also Roy had a lot of solid opponents. How many great fighters did Michael SPinks fight at 175? Also Roy would have beaten LHW Quawi a lot worse, and I always thought Quawi was a better cruiser than LHW.Quote:

Anyway, I am not sure Spinks opposition was much less than Jones. Jones did not fight a few cream of the crop guys he could have. I just think this fight is a pickem fight. Jones did beat Bernard who was young when he fought him, he beat Toney... His best win. . But Spinks fought much much much better heavyweight opposition. I do not really regard beating Ruiz as much of anything at heavyweight. Spinks did beat Holmes twice and even going the distance with Holmes twice was tough I would think.
Michael Spinks fought a few good guys, and Hearns was far past his prime and best weight class. I think Holmes won both fights personally, but also Spinks' style worked better against Holmes who is a very jab oriented fighter. Roy throws different punches from different angles every time, and he has way more speed than anyone Spinks fought to go along with more skill.
wow ....great question....I'm leaning toward RJ in UD....Spinks might even put him down, but lose to many rounds to a busier fastier opponent.
Fastier? ANyways even Bert Sugar conceded to say that Roy would have beaten every LHW except maybe Conn and Charles though I say he would beat both.
thought it was a boxing forum not a grammar class...thanks for correction though dork ::**
Spinks was pretty fast himself. Holmes should have beaten Spinks when he fought him, but Spinks did that ridiculous babystep style which did get him the win. which shows how versatile Spinks was to change his style and to outbox Holmes. It would have been a great fight and Jones would have to be aware of Spinks right hand the whole time.Quote:

spinks is underrated
I go with Spinks by decision....He was a great LH top 3 of all time...He fought at that weight in a very competitive era for the division....Dont get me wrong it would not be a walk through but his awkwardness and skill would prevail
No he did not win both Holmes fights 2nd one was robbery pure and simple thats not even debatable.Quote:

By the way, what is the big deal about that record Holmes was going to surpass with the 48 wins and no losses. Can't a guy pad his record against tomato cans and then be 47-0 and defend the title once and get that record? Valuev almost got the record a few months ago didn't he?Quote:
