Re: The Manchester Mexican
This is definately different. :D Hatton has a good sense of humor where ever he goes, how much would it surprise you if the mexican audiance starts chanting his name?
Re: The Manchester Mexican
Im sure there was a rumour or it might be fact that Ricky is somewhat mexican..Lol
Ive seen pics of him hanging at pressers wearing sombrero's and whatnot..
Its usually a good giggle

Here's an article on it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/6724157.stm

"Breaking News today as scientists have uncovered shocking DNA evidence that has confermed that Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton is actually none other then the son of legendary Mexican prize-fighter Julio Cesar Chavez. Scientists speculate this to be caused by a rift in the space-time continuum that had switched Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Ricky Hatton at birth... In an interview this morning Ricky Hatton said, "I have always had my suspicions that I was mexican. I like mexican food, I enjoy a tequila every now and then, and I fight like any red-blooded Mexican. I figured that my real dad was either Cheech Marinbecause of my sense of humor, or a famous mexican boxer. From now on I'll be known as the Manchester Mexican for all eternity!" To show his patronage for his new found people he'll be entering the ring in a Blue Sombrero" :o Oh, just caught this on CNN this morning. ;D
What would be more hilarious would be if he if he'd go all out. I mean he'd get a spray tan, wear a red headband with a Sombrero, get a lady of Guadalupe tattoo on his chest, and during his entrance he'll be accompanied by a Mariachi band, shaking a maraca in each hand for each step of the way, and finally entering the ring to sing the Mexican national anthem. Some things mastercard can't even buy... for everything else there's saddoboxing.com ;)

It must be the one ounce of spanish blood that's running through my veins. ;D
Re: The Manchester Mexican
I think that most will take it with good humor behind it...Ricky is not nor has he ever been known as disrepectful in any way....Hatton is just too likable...I don't think Castillo will even take offense to it

I agree with you, but I'd still like to see the look on Castillo's face.

I have seen about 2 dozen pics of Ricky in a sombrero standing next to Jose already....I can see it now.....
Hatton coming in to Mariachi (how ever you spell it) music and a sombvrero and Castillo coming in with a Rugby shirt on.....
After the fight they head to the bar while Castillo drinks pints of Ale and Hatton slams down come Corona's :D
Re: The Manchester Mexican
Nobody as pale as Ricky will ever be mistaken for part Mexican.

I love it! :coolclick:
Ricky Hatton to the bartender: "How bout a pint of ale for my new amigo, and dos coronas for me."
Jose Luis Castillo while watching the welsh Rugby team on the pub's TV: "You're a nice bloke Ricky, you'll always have a place where I come from." :D

I agree unless he's trying to pass himself off as an albino. I think that's where the spray tan would come in handy. Imagine that. ;D

For some reason it is not far fetched lol....Hatton is that type of guy....and he loves to tip them back self admittedly
Re: The Manchester Mexican
lol, I know Daxx, I can picture it now, the two in a pub with Ricky's arm around Jose's shoulder telling jokes and swapping stories.

Re: The Manchester Mexican
Ricky is 100000000000000000000000000000000000% Class, he is great friends with Marco Antonio Barrera so no doubt he asked MAB how that would blow over. Not to mention Rick has a huge, huge Mexican fan base(so I'v read)
The difference between Floyd doing this and Ricky doing it is. Floyd did it emulating his Uncle Roger self proclaimed " Mexican Assasin" and being a ball buster. Rick is doing it out of respect and a little good natured humor...

:coolclick: I'm sure they'll all agree. Hatton's not coming in to piss on the mexican flag.

Thanks haha!! Already clicked you on your Hitlers xbox thread  ;D
Re: The Manchester Mexican
Thanks bro, now if Floyd Mayweather has any balls he'll be in the audience during that fight wearing his mexican costume while waving a I hate mexico flag. ;D How he could possibally survive that I do not know.

To Floyds credit, he taunted ballbusted and beat Oscar... Some would say it would have Justice if Delahoya KO him, although it wasnt as bad as B-hop desacrading the Puerto Rican Flag, he turned around a week later and Knocked Trinidad out something ferocious ..  ;)
Re: The Manchester Mexican
True that. As terrible as B-Hop was with the Puerto Rican flag, I think he apologised after the fact, besides I think floyd could have learned a thing or two from him, instead of the reality show charactor that we saw go into that fight.
Re: The Manchester Mexican
I am Mexican-American and I in NO way see what Hatton did yesterday by wearing the sombrero as having any intentions of being disrespectful. He was not doing what Mayweather did. I was not a big fan of Hatton but I can tell you that he has my support and respect. They guy is classy and comes to fight. I would be cool if he kept " The Manchester Mexican" nickname. He fights like a Mexican fighter by coming forward and has nasty body punches. Viva Hatton!!

Mayweather did not even have the decency to wear the Sombrero right......Disrespect is not in Hattons nature everything he does is good natured and meant in a good humored way.....It is what makes him so likable
Re: The Manchester Mexican
It's all good humoured and not meant to be offensive
just like Castillo having his son in the Man utd kit at the weigh in lmao
knowing what a big Man city fan Hatton is
it was all good humoured build up to the fight
8) 8)
