Don't know if anyone has posted this yet but this is the fight that has to happen provided Ricky wins this weekend in Vegas.
Ricky Hatton says he is still hoping for a fight against Floyd Mayweather despite the self-styled "Pretty Boy" announcing his retirement after last month's win over Oscar De La Hoya.

....if this is true hatton is silly...i'm not even sure he'll win this weekend. Everyone WANTS pbf but there isn't anyone i can think of right now that can beat him. That's good news for some bad for others i guess...
I agree. But if Hatton wants to be remembered as one of the best he has to take on the best in order to be considered as one of the best. He's right now at a level where he needs to take all the mega matches as possible. If he doesn't do this he will keep racking up wins from nobodies and everyone will say that most of his opponents were handpicked and that is why he had such a good record.Quote:

this is the only fight at 140 left for hatton which will do his legacy any good, he could fight Witter in a home comming fight, but after that its gota be 147 for him. thats where the fights are at and i believe he move up in weight, coz rickys got the balls to fight all these guys
I agree with you he needs to go to 147 in order to clash with all the superstars at the moment in the division, but I don't have the same faith in him at Welter, he's too short for the big guys, don't get me wrong he's got the frame of a tank but he's too short to clash against the likes of Margarito, DLH or Williams.Quote:

The way Mayweather has been speaking recently, i think it could because i feel Hattons team might well be able to come up with $$, which could be intresting, especially as Mayweather will be more known to the casual fan becasue of his win over Dela Hoya, i no for a fact alot of people in my area have been asking me more questions about Mayweather since that fight, one question which i was had a pound for everytime i have been asked it is, " do you think Hatton could beat Mayweather" and them questions are from guys who actully think Amir Kahns the best in the world right now. ;DQuote:

I think Hatton has a good chance at beating Mayweather. People don't want to give Cotto or Hatton the credit that they deserve. These guys don't care about money or nothing, They just come to fight. Mayweather on the other hand.....likes to pick his opponents.It's an easy victory or it's going to be a big pay day. Mayweather is smart at managing his career. He knows who to fight and when.
I'm sorry but if you want to be considered the best P4P, you've got to fight the best when they are at there best. Mayweather had the chance to fight Hatton at 140. He didn't. He only cares about the payday and the opponent. He's not going to take a chance with a Cotto or a Hatton and lose his first fight.he knows that he'll lose alot of millions if he loses. He is a perfect example of what boxing doesn't need!! or doesn't want.!! We want to see fighter's who want to fight!!

he was smart..it's stupid to fight at 147..he's too short and can't effectively carry the weight...it's dumb to put himself at such a huge disadvantage..he should just dominate 140 forever and if anybody want a fight with him he should make them come to 140 if not he's lose to all the top guys at 147.....he's too short..he looked horrible at 147..Quote:
