SKY CHEAPER THAN SETANTA!!!!!

Just figured out the Ricky Hatton fight is on Sky box office for £19.95 and it's genuinely cheaper than setanta.

DON'T be fooled by this 3 Month bull s*** for £15 as I seen an advert for it in the Daily Mirror yesterday and in the small print at the bottom it includes a £7 connection fee and you have to remember to scrap the deal in the 4th month or they'll keep charging it for you. >:mad

So please don't be fooled like this like I nearly was as I've now ordered it on SBO for £19.95

Sorry My brother threw the paper out so can't scan it in but check for yourselves if you have yesterdays Mirror.

Mate theres no connection fee if you already have the facillites i.e Set top box, i have paid £15 and wont be paying anymore just have to cancel it with 30 days notice, in this package you get some football and probably somemore boxing and the build up to this fight is worth it, i rang them after i seen this post and they say you dont pay anything more than the £15. ;)

If u ring up and do it over the phone there is no connection fee.

and wtf lol Sky are charging 20bux for the hatton PPV? ha what a joke.

Sky do take the piss £19.99 WTF!! The show doesn't even start till 0200am, so there is no fights planned in England? Before hand, and they expect people to pay £19.99.

Also my mistake Sky does cover fights from the UK from 10 pm.

I feel its completely out-of-order that Sky Sports are charging £20!
Remember...we already subscribe to Sky Sports and they are asking us subscibers for a further £20?!

Now if a lot of people give them £20 to watch a big fight...that will become the norm.

You can buy the entire career of Hatton on dvd for £8 chaper than Sky are charging!

It's on Sky box office in the UK?

Thanks for the heads up on the 30-days notice thing for Setanta, I hadn't really paid attention to the small print and had put a reminder in my phone to call the day before the 3 months was up. I guess I'll be moving that 1 month back then. :p Anyhow, there aren't any fights on in Britain that night, but I'll be watching the card from the Point in Dublin, with Bernard Dunne v Reidar Walstad, who beat Dunne in the amateurs, so should be pretty interesting. Not sure if you can get RTE on sky, but if not it's on www.RTE.ie/sport, from about 9.30pm till gone midnight, so that'll keep my boxing appetite whetted.

Have you got a link where I can get the Hatton career dvd please? It would be much appreciated.

Phil forgive my ignorance..but....WHAT?!!!!

Do a little research on these, I picked up a dreambox 500c for 250euro, its basically a box that unscrambles every channel 4 u. I just pay 4 basic N tL and get everything, all the movies, sports, ppv, setanta, about 150 channels in all, theres loads going around Dublin at the moment but they work everywhere in Ireland and UK

so its on Box Ofiice and Setanta ?? Are you sure ?

Have you considered that the £19.95 PPV option is from Setanta and not Sky, and therefore the same feed/commentary etc etc as the £15 for Setanta, yet the £15 gives you football et al. www.setanta.com/hatton

There are currently previews on the sky box office channel for it as we speak.

Also forward your sky menu by looking at what's on on saturday night/sunday morning and you can see it's on sky box office and order it NOW if you want to.

To clear things up the Hatton fight is free to watch via the Setanta Sports 1 Channel 429(coverage starts at 12:00am Sunday) so if you subsribe to Setanta so u can watch the fight free on that channel but as another option if u dont want to subscribe to Setanta to get the Hatton fight u can order it via the Sky Box Office channel 481(coverage starts at 2:00am) as a one-off PPV type deal for £19.95.....u ppl get me?? ::** ::** ;)

the setanta deal is £15 for the fight and for the next three montsh which includes the first month of premiership football matches in August.

You can cancel before end of August and won't have to pay another penny - so all you will pay is fifteen quid.

So why are people saying its a con and this is such a bad deal if the fight is £20 on Sky Box office and thats all you get ??

What is wrong with you people it is not a con we have subscribed to Satenta for the last couple of years for the racing channel i get the fight free because of this they have great coverage and never had a problem with the service at any time.

I guess my issue is with the sports coverage provided by Setanta. Ok they got 1/6th of live premiership football, and they have scottish stuff, but if youre not into horse racing or golf, there really isn't that much on offer for that £15 per month.

Although it's on Sky Box office you are still getting the Setanta show, crap commentary and all! They are hoping people subscribe instead and then keep the subscription hence the deal for £15.

Which ever route you take the programme's the same.

For the record I think Setanta is a pretty decent package anyway,i have Setanta and the upcoming Hatton fight aside u get a good few channels,Setanta Sports channel 1+2,Setanta Golf,N.A.S.N. channel,Celtic TV,Rangers TV,Real Madrid TV,Racing UK,Racing World,E.S.P.N. Classics etc for only £15 a month!.......if i was one of u guys without Setanta I would subsribe to Setanta to get the Hatton.....£15 for the whole 3 months..u cant grumble about that guys

Told ya MARK TKO mate, no one believes me about this £7 connection fee but it is there and there propa slim b******s as it's £22 total.

By the way if you think you'll fall asleep and miss it there are replays throughout the next day on both SKY and SETANTA so you won't miss any action.

Yeah, I know what you mean bro. Everytime I watch a late night boxing fight, especially in the summer, I usually am pretty buzzing, so go out on the mountain bike at dawn, which is ace when you look at some of the tracks we got down here in Wales.

I think its due to start at 3.00am british time so whatever that is in American :D
