Manny Paquiao has to go up in weight if he wants to take on serious competition. I like Pacquiao feinting nowadays, it's really helped him land a lot of punches that he couldn't land otherwise.
yip manny is in a league of his own now and has to go up in weight to find the big fights which will make him truelly great
I think at the minute there's only a couple of guys at 130 with a chance, Barrera, JMM, and most of all IMO Joan Guzman. If I was a betting man I reckon he'd be worth a punt if he was at odds of 2/1 or better.
He doesn't need to go up in weight, its not like 135 is that loaded. At 130 there's JMM, Guzman, even Soto would make for a decent fight. And obviously Barrera although I think JMM and Guzman are more dangerous right now.
jmm can beat pac
A rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez would be great
The rematch coming up which I personally think Marco Antonio Barrera will win this time.
Though most off all just like others before me have posted
JOAN GUZMAN
Man can you guys imagine that?
There are a few guys at 130 who could compete with and MAYBE beat manny, including JMM (has a fair chance of beating manny), Guzman, and maybe Valero??
Now? In his prime? Any guy who could crack his granite chin would be the one.
Valero, Marquez (JMM), and Guzman beat Pacquio for sure if they fought.
Now, predicting with certainty is something a true boxing enthusiast should avoid. Valero, JMM and Guzman may beat the Pacman but for surety, no one can be that sure. In truth, Pacquaio has a greater chance of beating the said guys considering his past performance against Solis and Morales, of course, not forgetting his demolition of Barrera.Quote:

pacquiao in a league of his own? that's the fan in you talking, man. granite chin? dude, c'mon. he hasn't met any real heavy hitter. sure, he would go in as a favorite against any opposition at his weight class these days. i won't bet against the man. but he is not as invincible as you rabid flip fans think. i say, marquez, guzman and valero all stand a fair chance.
I agree. These men have chance. The only way we will really know if they will fight Pacman. O0Quote:

Guzman-defensive artist. I've sold his short in the past but he is a tremendous talent. Would have to work hard v Manny and work ethic does not appear to be one of his skills but with Floyd senior by his side now,he'd have a chance for sure.
JMM-Arguably won the first fight with Manny and although skill has declined slightly since that meeting,he would not make the mistake of brawling straight away and getting knocked down early.
I'd give them all a chance but an equal chance that Manny beats them too. I'll probably re-assess after tha MAB fight,a fight Manny should win and win well.
If Manny wins over Barrera this October, it would be difficult to find someone who will be able to beat Manny.Quote:

Why wouldn't he last 7 rounds ?? and he lost to Chris John yes but have you seen the fight ?? Marquez was robbed pure a simple.Quote:

Joan guzman is a good fighter, with a lot of skills. Compared to pacquiao however, his style would never work. He'll knock him down in the first round.
The pacman has already proven that he can defeat a technical boxer when he defeated Erik morales. Erik is a defense specialist and had a granite chin. But this could not help him against pacquiao. It's noteworthy to say that before being floored by pacquiao, morales never ever tasted the canvass. Against pacquiao, he had a mouthful...Guzman is almost the same style as morales-only younger, he has skills but no power. How can he last against manny?
Edwin Valero is a great fighter with lots of power. One thing I don't like about him though-is his defense. I've seen his videos in the net and he did not show much defense. Maybe because he didn't have the opportunity to do so or maybe he has none. No one he fought is recognized as a knockout artist, maybe that's why he could bully his way against them. If ever he gets the chance to fight pacquiao he'll surely need to do defense. With both of them hitting hard, the one who can evade punches is more likely to win.
Juan Manuel Marquez is beyond pacman's league. How can he defend his belt with his glass chin? He had to go to distance against Barrera in a fight where the judges could go either way. Pacquiao however showed the world how Barrera should be beaten - to a Pulp! Pacman and marquez's last fight left more question than answers. The scoring of the 1st round became an object of debate, after one of the judge gave marquez a 9 instead of an automatic 8 points (which is given when there is a ko in the round). Even assuming that judges should be given wide discretion in their decision, they should also know when to give credit when it is due...that judge surely brought the draw in that fight.

Why do you say that ?? in fact Guzman's style would work very well against Pacquiao, he is fast has good upper body movement, good outside skills.
Morales has good boxing skills but come on how often does he use them ?? he always gets into toe to toe battles im not saying thats bad thing but against someone like Pacquiao it was totally wrong thing to do.

Don't be ridiculous how can Marquez have glass chin when he has never been stopped ?? well if thats the case then Pacquiao must not have much power, if he can't stop a *Glass chin* Marquez as you put it.

And Pacquiao hasn't ?? your not going to honestly tell me Pacquiao has been impressive in his last two fights are you ??

Yes that was bad mistake by the Judge but it doesn't matter, i still think draw was fair result i had Marquez winning by 1 point.
This fight coming up I believe Pac-man will.In his last 2 outings against I believe it was Solis and Barrera. Were very sub-par performances and if he continues to fight like that Marquez will counter-punch the hell out of him.I believe Marquez will stop Pacquiao in 10 rounds in March.
Pac has a lot to prove in his upcoming fight. Should he beat JMM (convincingly) he will catapult himself upward in my estimation.
You see what i mean with Pacquiao fans ?? saying Marquez has glass chin is the most ridiculous statement i've ever heard.Quote:

Fight night will answer a lot of Questions.
