Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
Leonard Ellerbe, the adviser of Floyd Mayweather, Jr., said that if Ricky Hatton really wants to fight Floyd, all he needs to do is sign the contract.
Ellerbe said the trash talking games are over, Mayweather is tired of Hatton always taking shots at him in the press, and says the two sides can get together and make the fight this week. Hatton has been baiting Mayweather with comments in the press for the last few years, and the baiting appears to have finally paid off.
"He got Floyd's attention. Now we're calling his bluff," Leonard Ellerbe said. "All he has to do is make a deal and he'll have his chance to back up all that talk. All that's standing between him and Floyd is air and opportunity. We can make the deal this week. He's very, very disrespectful. He's trying to promote himself off Floyd's name. When we make the deal we'll show the world why he's the most overrated fighter of this decade. Floyd has never taken any fight personally. But he's taking this personally. Floyd is going to kick his butt."

Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
:o ;D yeeeeeessssss if this is true ,i would love to see this fight cuz floyds stock would be raised after the win, to be the first to beat a great fighter thatd be great and i no the fight would be fun
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
The source was an American newspaper, hold on....Here you go-It was a recent interview by Tim Smith in his NY Daily News Column.

Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"

That made me laugh out loud, coming from a member of Mayweathers team.
This would be an interesting fight, I assume it would be held at 147 and not 140. I like Hatton, but I think either way, Mayweather UDs Hatton fairly easily.
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
I think PBF would win but Hattons style is made to beat him, Hatton has a good a chance as anyone of beating him.
It could happen, an interesting fight to say the least, i really think these two hate each other
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
I think mayweather will stop him. Hatton is out of his depth at 147, collazo showed us that. Mayweather is faster, stronger and all-round better than collazo.
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
I'm going on record right here and now and I'll SIG bet ANYONE on this forum, that PBF would beat Hatton. Hatton's style would ruffle Floyd's feathers for a few rounds but Floyd would begin to time, use ring generalship and straight right hands all night long.
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
Hattons got a chance, you shouldnt judge him on one fight at WW...

Mate you make it sound like you are making a bold prediction but the entire world is probably in agreement with you.
It's like wanting to bet on a coin toss that it will be heads......or tails. ::**

Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
This is an easy fight for Floyd.
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
You know the thing Ive allways liked about B-hop?
You found out who he wanted next when the contract was signed
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
too say this is an easy fight for PBF is wrong, if Hatton could knock him off his game plan some what, hecould have him in trouble.

I don't know yet, I'm certainly not gonna bet against PBF for the next one.
Ug the shame of it all..............
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
This fight wont happen NOW at 147
Hatton would be stupid to do that without an interim fight first
Remember Hatton had onli 5 weeks preperation against Collazo at 147 and no interim

i agree
maybe im just being biast but
and i dont think PBF will be able to dance the ring all night either
Whether u like Hatton or not he is an aggresive fighter and will keep goin forward to PBF
And Hatton is prepared to get hit in a fight
I do wanna see this fight i just dont see it happening right now
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
Big L on Miguel Cotto "He's just a good little fighter", on Tony "Floyd and Margarito are not in the same plateau (finantially spaeking)", on Shane "Mosley needs to bring more money to the table" and it goes on and on... That guy is just one horrible character that Boxing doesn't need!

Why not? Styles make fights,Collazo may have been southpaw and a natural WW but Floyd is faster, deceptively strong and a much better boxer. What will Hatton do differently?

If he does not fight any of those guys, then I agree.

Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
this is awesome. well done hatton for pissing off PBF. this fight is finally happening
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
WHAT WILL HATTON DO DIFFERENTLY????
prepare!
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
ummm i'm not sure if i'm the only one that sees what'll happen in this fight.... how bout ricky lunging in and both fighter hold 70% of the fight.... i say hattons even worse than pbf for holding, and that's really fucking sad..
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
lets jus hope hatton signs the contract
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
I want to hear something more concrete from Floyd himself before I believe in this.

Hatton very very disrespectful, wonder what that makes Floyd :P

Are you saying he was unprepared against Collazo?
He knew he had a fight to make on that date. He had LESS weight to lose than
he expected and fought the exact same way he fights every fight (barring Urango)
-
Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
ARGH HE CANNOT FIGHT SOUTHPAWS. ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT. I'M SORRY IF MY CAPS ARE OFFENDING YOU BUT THAT REALLY IS WHY HE LOOKED BAD AGAINST COLLAZO.
seriously i don't think Hatton beats Mayweather but i will say if anyone has a chance it is Hatton. Hatton can clearly get into Mayweather's head and Hatton and Billy Graham have been building up to this fight for so long. Nobody and i mean absolutely nobody studies an opponent as extensively as Billy Graham. Its the pot of the gold at the end of ricky's little rainbow. If Ricky can tie up and clinch...yes i said clinch...that's what he must do because he's a very good in-fighter, he has a chance. It depends on the referee really. If it's Jay Nady Hatton might as 'well forget about it' as Donny Brasco would say.
If the fights at Wembley in a smaller ring with Dave Parris, we have a very interesting fight on our hands. Even Joe Cortez would be fine.....just a guy who won't break them up everytime they get in close. I just cannot see Hatton leaving any distance whatsover between him and mayweather and if he achieves this, he is half way there IMO.

did i mention weight ???
i dont recall that
and yes i am saying that he had 5 weeks to prepare for that fight
And yes i guess he did fight that fight the same way he has done his others HE WON
;)

Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
I dont want to belive this because it could just be a load of a B.S just to raise the fighters publicity but I can't help getting excited. THis would be Huge

I don't understand what else he would have done to prepare then......
Please enlighten me...........

Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
Hatton will lose, but he will make a better show than most. He'll have a better chance than Dela Hoya had. He has better footspeed than Oscar and he's tougher and more relentless than Judah. Both of those guys managed to take a few rounds, and I'm betting Ricky will win a solid 3 for 4 rounds. Collazo was a true WW. Floyd, regardless of his current weight and title, is naturally a 135 or 140 pounder. Ricky will be able to force the action and make Floyd earn his victory with his fists. This would actually be a good fight for Floyd because he'll need to engage more. It might even look like some of his early, great fights at 135.

shza right. It's on b-talk. Thank god for that site, they instigate so many fights. These guys are actually talking at least and Mayweather actually wants to fight the dude. Hatton needs to take the 60/40 or 65/35 split Floyd will offer him and make the fight happen. Floyd ain't retiring and if Hatton is reasonable and realizes that he only made 2.5 Mil for Castillo and Mayweather is pound for pound the best and just won his last fight and made over $25 Mil, then the fight can get done. But if Hatton is asking for something outrageous like $15 Million, then the fight will never get done. Floyd $12 Mil+, Hatton $7.5 Mil+, let's get this shit done.

Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
I've got a sneaking suspicion that Hatton will outprice himself though.

He;s done it before so I would not be surprised. CC for the info SHZA.

Re: Ellerbe: "Hatton, Want Floyd? Sign The Contract!"
Mayweather basically said he would beat HAtton and all Hatton does is hold more then fight and that he would stop Hatton with a body shot and hatton only uses his name to promote so he is giving him an opportunity to sign a contract to see if he is serious

I can. And I will. Mayweather is twice the fighter Collazo is. Hatton got a gift win against Collazo and than preceded to avoid him like the plague. Mayweather is in another level than Hatton.

Mayweather is on another level than anybody. he should just stay retired and save us all the bother of watching him beat everyone.
