I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
All my fellow posters know that I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...what their records are...who they beat & how they beat them. Many times I can almost pick the path & the fighter that they are to face...but it appears...Wacko's about to be proven wrong!
Mayweather targets Hatton!

"Ricky Hatton has talked nonstop about fighting me for the last two weeks," says 'retired' WBC welterweight/super welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather. "He has disrespected me and my accomplishments in the ring, and I take that very seriously. I'm going to give him the opportunity to step up and fight the best in the world. I don't think this punk will take the challenge." A potential bout against Hatton would set the stage for a match-up between two of the sports best undefeated fighters. With his win over Castillo, Hatton improved his record to 43-0 with 31 KO's. Mayweather is 38-0 with 24 KO's. "Now that Hatton has opened up his big mouth, he might start to think about what he has been asking for," continued Mayweather. "Does he really want to step into the ring with best fighter of this era and embarrass himself? Being the coward that he is, I doubt he'll get in the ring. We'll see what his excuse will be this time."
This is some real talk here...& honestly...I'm shocked shitless.

Any talk on where the fight would be? USA or UK? If its at 140 and in the UK i give Hatton a chance but if its at 147 in the US he is gonna get his ass handed to him.

I'm inclined to agree there.
Honestly...outside of the U.S. is going to be nowhere near neutral ground.
The U.S. is the best bet for that...but if Floyd moves down to 140 he's done...& if Hatton moves up to 147...he's done in there too...so I am a bit confused as to who gives up the physical advantages first.

I would be shocked if it's anything other than 147 and the US.

The crowd would be huge in the UK tho. If Frank Warren was still hattons manager it may have been there, but cos he isnt i'd say the US as well.

dont quote me on this but wasn't it said that Hatton turned down Floyds offer of a fight a couple of times before?

if mayweather's max boxing weight is 150lb i think.....i think he could get to 140... and i think 140 is the best weight for hatton although it will probably be at 147...
i would like to see this fight the most... i know alot of people think cotto is ready for maywether but i think a year would do cotto alot of good..
hatton is about as good as he is going to get.. so is mayweather
i think they are in the prime of the prime of both of their careers and would be the perfect ali-frazier style match up hopefully...
i hope it will be at wimbley... the crowd there would be completely insane.... i dont think it would bother mayweather to much either
i think you all would have to agree that the crowd in the JLC-hatton made the fight better than it was... and only if it was to be held in england i think it would be bigger than DLH-PBF
didnt PBF show some interest in wembely.. or was that just DLH

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
I'm not. We all know PBF was comming back he just want $$$$ he loves it to a level of stupidity.
If I where Floyd I would prefered to fight Haaton than Mosley witch is Faster, stronger experienced than Judah.

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
interesting match . Floyd is slick as owl shit no question.. yet Hatton is very physical , Ricky should man handle Floyd a bit , maybe Hatton gets some of those body shots in as he jockeys for position . Hatton has the right mental physical attributes to do it ..High determination factor.
I think a Hatton -vs.- Cotto match is fan friendly and explosive. . it would be a huge money maker as well. a fight where the winner and loser gain something. fighting Floyd could turn out a boring match.. win or lose a boring match, and you lose something on that. if the Money is right with Cotto. Id go with Cotto in a New York second !

Why would Mayweather be done? The most he's weighed is 150... how he work I think it would be easy for him to get back down 140. Losing muscle is dangerous, but there are ways it can be done right and Mayweather to either not fight at 140 or take his time comming down. People like Roy Jones Jr. were losing 15-20 pounds of muscle in 2 months which can ruin your body forever.

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wr
I don't see the weight being a problem for Mayweather. I think he beats Hatton at either 140 or 147. Keep in mind Mayweather moved out of the 140 division cuz he he choose to. Not cuz he was struggling to make the weight. While I doubt the fight happens at 140, if it did I think Mayweather wins just as easily.

FLoyd is not coming back.
He is selling wolf tickets.
Pretty Boring Floyd is blowing hot air.
I am not falling for this shiet.

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
In an interview on BT Hatton was saying he wanted it at a catchweight.
Either way, at any weight Floyd is going to slaughter him, which is too bad because I like Hatton.

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
In all honesty heres how I see the fight going...
- Notice Hatton getting frustrated cause he can't catch up to him.

I can see by your ratio that you've made several comments like this one on other threads.
It's more likely that I walk out of my house in the morning and get struck by lightning (it's summer here) then PBF stopping Hatton in 5 rds.

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
Also I really couldn't remember who was the last guy PBF stopped in a fight my 1st guess was Gatti, I had completely forgot he fought Sharmba and stopped him. Still that was in 2005 been while since hes stopped someone I really don't see him stopping Hatton.

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
I hope this fight happens im well excited, i would prefer to see Hatton fight Cotto though cause I think it would be an all out war, I see Floyd just running, defending and countering Hatton. If Hatton can close the ring off and wear Floyd down with workrate I think he could get the win but we all know how good Floyd is on the counter and how Hatton can get caught on the way in (although I dont think PBF has the power to ko Hatton). I think it all depends on the weight and country the fight is in. Still I know im in the minority but I think if anyone at the moment can beat PBF its Hatton or Cotto.
Please if there is a boxing god out there make this fight happen!!!!!

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
Ego > Money no matter what you wanna believe about a fighter. If you call out a top fighter when you're near the top of your division, he's gonna fight you sooner or later.

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
Mayweather's jab would unsettle Hatton, Hatton's whole fight plan against everyone he has ever thought was get down to the body and bang, that's how he beat Castillo. PBF's jab would stop Hatton doing this effectively. Mayweather would win by a wide UD. :jabbing:

I'm going with Hatton. If it goes the distance, then Floyd will win. Hatton's only chance is to stop him, and I think he can. This is the fight Hatton has always wanted. Floyd will take him lightly and get stunned. I wouldn't want to see a rematch though.

Agreed. 147 is defo a no go area for Hatton against anyone.

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wr
once again Floyd has disappoint me. why go to a 140 pounder and not a 147 welterweight such as Shane or Cotto. But i will pray to the boxing Gods that HAtton Pulls a Win witch I think it's going to be very difficult
-
Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
If they fight at 140lbs or 147lbs Mayweather beats him no matter what i think Mayweather could make 140lbs pretty easy

I'd be surprised if anyone around this limit beats Ricky Hatton with ease.

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
Why not have it at a catch weight say 144lbs? I think Hatton has a chance of an upset. If Hatton can do what De La Hoya did by gettin Mayweather on the ropes then Hatton has a grast chance.Oscar fought in spirts where Hatton can set a fast pace for 3mins around.

I want to be clear on this, I am against catchweight fights. We have enough weight classes already.

Agreed. 147 is defo a no go area for Hatton against anyone.
So am I to take it that you're judging his whole 147lbs future on a fight he won that he had 5 weeks preparation for?

I don't see why Hatton can't move up for this. Floyd isn't a natural welterweight anyways he's naturally probably smaller than Ricky, a couple inches taller but smaller frame.
He started out as a superfeatherweight two divisions below Ricky so there is no size advantage for Floyd in fighting at 147 lbs.
Actually though Floyd could make 140 lb again easily enough anyways. He walks around at 150 lb, he could probably just go for a long run in a sweat suit, dehydrate a little and make the 140 lb limit on a week's notice.
I see no advantage or disadvantage for either fighter at either weight to be honest.

I hear ya, I'd like to see this at 140 or 147, but nowhere in between.

Last time Hatton boxed @ 147 he had five weeks notice and bulked up by eating junk food. This time he would have 12 weeks notice and would bulk up more sensibly. Also all this silly talk of where the fight is has no bearing on the outcome. hatton can draw a massive crowd whereever he boxes. Over 10,000 brits came to the USa for his fight with castillo. Could you imagine even 50 americans coming to britian to watch boring boring mayweather. Mayweather cant even pull his own curtains nevermind pull a crowd.

Re: I pride myself in knowing my favorite fighters...but it appears...Wacko's wrong!
I'm in a pretty bad mood today so i'm jus gonna throw down my colours...Fuck It....Ricky Wins.
We saw his physique against Castillo, he's takin his boxin way more serious now, trainin with Kerry he can easily pile on seven more pounds of power.
