Who should feature in the top 10 of all white heavyweights?
My pick for number 1 is JOE BUGNER. Might be a strange choice but at his peak and even somewhat past it I think he could beat any white heavyweight who ever lived.

I wouldn't even vote on this. Skin colour shouldn't separate any fighter from being counted in a list of top ten heavies IMO. :sadclick:
Vitali Klitscho, their kid, Jack Dempsey, Tunney, Maricano I'd rate them above Bugner. :-[ ???
sc for you.Quote:

Not a list in order, just some names off the top of my head
Marcianio
Dempsey
Tunney
Conn (if you couls call him a heavyweight)
Vitali
Vlad
Golota
Morrison
Botha
Tex Cobb
Cooney
I totally agree.....although i don't think this topic was started from one of those perspectives..that one of the things i love about this site i may be just missing it but rarely does anyone bring race into boxing here....and that's how it should beQuote:

Would be ok to have a topic about the Best Heavweight wearing black shorts or would that be racist too.
I just don't get how on earth anybody could object to this thread ???
The world has gone mad :banghead:
No we are not , you can ask any question you dam well like mate , no offence taken here :)Quote:

I wasn't really trying to say this was racist, I was just making the point that it's pointless catagorising the two skin colours separately when discussing the best. Why would you want to?Quote:

That would be my Top 5
Ignoring any racist overtones, real or implied
Bugner????????
His motto ought to be "Hes lost to the best"

I can name all the white heavyweight champions off the top of my head easy as my SS# and dob...
Just as the smaller divisions eg 130 and under have been mostly ruled by hispanics.....Facts are Facts...We can't change it
I disagree.Quote:

So, if someone asks me, "Who are the best white heavyweights?" my answer should be, "Sorry, that is inappropriate and I cannot answer that question."
You gotta throw sylvester stallone in there somewhere...
ah mate your statment is the kind of pc crap that make me :puke: to be honestQuote:

If it's acceptable (and it is) to discuss the best Mexican fighters, or best Europeans etc then it is also entirely acceptable to discuss the best White or Black fighters.
It's always the pc brigade that bring racism into everything. This wasn't a thread about colour or race at all before but now you have made it so............ :-\
Here's my top ten,
1.) Jack Dempsy: Tyson emulated him decades later, exciting style, hard hitter for a small guy. 8)
2.) Rocky Marciano: 49-0 even though I wanted Valuev to surpass that mark.
3.) Max Schmelling: He didn't beat the best, he KO'd, outsmarted, and humiliated the best; Joe Louis.
4.) Gene Tunney: Constrast to Demspey, he brought intelligence to the heavyweight crown.
5.) Tommy Burns: First white fighter un-afraid to challenge a black boxer; need I say more?
6.) James J Jeffries: He was a racist bast@rd, so was most of America. He still was undefeated before he met Jack.
(( Now to my favorite part )) ;)
7.) George Chuvalo: Robbed against Patterson and always gave problems to "The Greatest."
8.) Jerry Quarry: This man had skills!!! Too bad it was in the 70's!
9.) Joe Bugner: Courageous! I believe he was in his 40s that he defeated a man who went 10 rounds with Tyson.
10) Billy Conn: My personal favorite, because this little man took it to Joe Louis and hurt the GREAT Champion.
Potential:
Tommy Morrison almost made it, afterall he did defeat older Foreman and Razor Rudduck. 8)
Vitaly, if he had stayed. Wladimir if he can keep it up. Gerry Cooney destroyed Norton, yet Ken was on the slide.
And Roland La Starza, who gave Marciano problems. 8)
id go with Rocky Marciano, Both Klitschkos, Gerry Cooney to name a few

Why isn't Ingemar Johannson being mentioned anywhere?
Old ingos bingo. i read a great book on him once and he was the last white undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. he scored some good wins in his time and knocked cooper clean out something ali never managed.Quote:

this i funny because cutmemick labeled me a troll....now this is a topic in which he might have had a case....if you interpet it that way...and it weird because race is so rarely seen as the backdrop of a topic on this forum...
but neverthless i'll say vitaly, dempsey, marciano, botha, johannson, cooney, tunney, vlad, ivan drago, and balboa
forgot that all four of the heavyweight belt holders currently are white....

Arguing that black, white, asians etc are all equal is one thing, and I agree entirely. Arguing that they are all identical and exactly the same is just political correctness gone insane.
What about a top woman boxers thread? I mean is that pointless because you don't see the sexuality?
What you say makes no sense to me at all to be honest
