Yes a fit in shape Tyson who was up for it ;) ;D
i actually thought tyson fought a good fight. thats the thing.
Plenty
Muhammad Ali
Larry Holmes
Lennox Lewis
Riddick Bowe
Evander Holyfield
The list just goes on and on.
I don't think he did Tyson didn't have his headmovement proper stuff for swelling eye ect but i still think even prime Tyson could of lost to that Douglas because of Douglas height and the great jab he threw and it was a great jab.Quote:

This is dumbest comment i've ever heard Holmes is top 5 hw of all time and would make Douglas's jab look stupid Bowe was one of the most talented hws ever and Holyfield was great boxer with great handspeed who beat the stuffing out of Douglas in 3 rounds jeez where do these clowns pop up from thats one of the most ridiculous comments i've ever heard Douglas basically beat a Tyson who was a punchbag and didn't train and his corner didn't even have proper stuff for swelling Douglas could have give Tyson a tough fight even in his prime but Douglas was far from perfect that night he was almost koed it was actually like 13 seconds what VD said but Douglas did get up at 9 and a half but my god it was a very slow 9 count i can tell you that now.Quote:

"holyfield was great boxer with great handspeed who beat the stuffing out of Douglas "..did i not say that night..the same claims you make for tyson is the same for douglas buster was not in shape in the holyfield fight!
Are you that stupid ?? in any experts list well in most Holmes is considered top 5 hw of all time the guy made 20 defences i would love to see your top 5 hws of all time then if you don't consider Holmes top 5.Quote:

I never said Douglas was in shape for Holyfield but he still beat him in 3 and prime for prime Holyfield still would of stopped him round about 9 rounds.
1 Muhammad Ali
2 Joe Louis
3 Jack Johnson
4 Rocky Marciano
5 Larry Holmes
the 3 fighters were very good in there ERA ...but in the history of boxing....no i would not mention the name with the greats ..thats STUPID!
Ice, you know I agree with you on a lot of things. But I gotta tell you, we're on opposite sides on this one. Gotta agree with the man...... the Douglas that fought Tyson that night was downright impressive. I've always felt that fans generally have a tendency to downplay the achievement of someone who upsets their fighter, such as: "Oh well, Tyson wasn't himself that night." But I'll be damned if I don't agree with the poster. Douglas was awesome that night. No two ways about it. He bullied Tyson around the ring, used his size, his reach, threw combinations, the works. Tyson gave it his all. Did he have the wicked head movement from the late 80's? Maybe not at 100%. But he was no slouch in there. You gotta give Douglas the credit he deserves.
As to who he could've beaten, I gotta tell you.... I'm not a big Holmes fan either. I know you feel he's top 5 all-time, but I just don't feel that way. I gotta admit, I don't like Holmes the man, 'cause I think he's racist. So maybe that colors (no pun intended) my opinion a little bit. But I think Holmes got the benefit of fighting some good fighters, but a lot of mediocre fighters as well. Yes, he had a great jab. But he was no Ali... something that ate at him throughout his career. Geez, I've never seen such a sour and bitter man.
Anyway, that's my two cents worth.
;D
Uhh Bowe was good i never said he was great but he had great talent Holyfield was a great and so was Holmes i can't see how there not great ??Quote:

"and didn't even have proper swelling stuff for his eye"
that may hands down be the worst excuse i have ever heard!
i can see tyson at the post fight interview now
" ughhh yes i could have won if i had brought my PROPER SWELLING STUFF"
its called enz-swell. by the way!
I agree with pretty much all of what you said, ICE, but I think "that"Tyson gets beat 8 times outta ten by "that" Douglas... He was great that night... Course there were alot of variables outside of the ring but I digress... Douglas never fought that good or would again... But there are many that would take him apart... MANY... Ali would have jabbed the taste outa his mouth!!! And sorry but Holmes would lay lumber like a carpenter :-XQuote:

What ?? worse excuse its fact not an excuse im not saying he would of won even if he would of had the stuff but fact is he didn't and that can't of helped with the bad sweeling he had on his eye.Quote:

Ali

Lewis
If pushed, I might be inclined to put Tyson and Holyfield in there as well.
Tim Witherspoon? hahah a joke
An underachieving good boxer. He had skills. He just chose not to use them consistently.Quote:

Typical of someone knowing nothing about Witherspoon or 80s hws for that matter Witherspoon was having trouble with Don King and was out of shape you have never seen him in his prime by what you said and actually 80s had alot of talented hws but they threw there talent away.Quote:
