Is Kessler vs Calzaghe going to happen??

The fact that they have not made a deal yet, pretty much means negotiations have failed. The fight is not going to happen. Anyone else feel this way?

I was thinking the same thing. However, I feel that they're still trying to sort out the negotiations etc with HBO on the date, and who pays what, which is holding things up. There's too much money for it to get held up by all the little things.

as of now, palle has stated, that warren is doing business with hbo, warren trying to squeze 5 mill dol for the fight, but hbo doesnt think the fight is of that value..

palle has previous said, that he would stage the fight in denmark and sent offers to warren and joe, but both promoters were of the understanding the fight would create a bigger sum in britain, therefore warren is doing the talking with hbo, milking the cash cow as much as he can..

should the hbo say no to 5 and offer less, i surely assume that palle´s offer is still standing..

it's gunna happen, just kessler and palle being awkward as usual... only reason there is quiet now because they are running out of excuses and reasons to postpone the fight... wont be much longer before it is anounced.

Thanks to whoever changed the thread name. Would have saved some confusion, cheers. I just hope this fight happens though. Its what boxing needs and we want. I so badly wanna see this fight. Im sure we all feel the same.

I'm actually beginning to think we're gunna end up seeing both sides making excuses for the fight falling through, Kessler will go off and fight Mundine while Calzaghe will probably end up fighting Tarver. This is getting a little irritating that this one won't come off.

to be honest, the only real name at 168 for calzaghe is kessler, everyone else is noone you are gunna look back on and say "fair enough he beat that guy.."

Kessler is the only fight i want to see Joe in next. Taylor, wright hopkins, carl the fraud froch, mundine, tarver are all unexceptable..

If team kessler are still being fuck wits and wont man up, i think calzaghe should go for dawson at LHW.

so your saying dawson is a bigger name on his record than Taylor, wright and hopkins? I think in terms of legacy he would fight one of those names instead of Dawson.

If it doesnt go through the 2 names which i think would attract British attention would be Carl Froch at 168 and Clinton woods at 175. They would fill a good stadium to the tops, they have a bigger name than Dawson over in the UK IMO.

fair points which can be true! But JC aint got long left now has he? So the people who support him want to see his with names that mean a dam at this present time! But IMO I dont think Dawson fills that slot. In the boxing world he is a big name but i just can see more attraction to JC-Hopkins more than JC-Dawson IMO. People from Britain i dont think really dont follow Dawson and IMO i think JC should stay at 168 and try and get rid of all these undeafeted names who will be a threat in the future.

No it is the fans that wants to much and don´t want to pay enough for Palle and Warrens effort. WE are too blame cuss they are the best friends in this world. :P

Apart from that I don´t think Palle is helping cuss everytime there is an issue he speaks to the media and blames Warren. I guess he is right most of the time but is sure does not help in making the fight.

At the moment Palle says that Warren is in negotiation with HBO because he want them to pay 5mil$, and states for the record that he is not involved in this, and that this is Warrens responsibility O0.

He said they have agreed all the terms, for the fight and is waiting for the contract to sign.

Yeah it's impossible for it to be Warren's fault. Never. The man would never ask for more money. His main interests are what's best for boxing. Not himself.

Look VD, as much as you hate Frank Warren, he is just a promoter, the same as many other promoters, so when a deal falls down between him and another promoter, it is not ALWAYS going to be him, which you are constantly suggesting. Other promoters are just as ruthless and greedy as him, he's not the sole cause of misery to boxing fans, so would you admit that it is possible it was not his fault this time?



The basic problem is that there are a group of Calzaghe haters who will always blame Calzaghe or Warren for not getting the fights made, and there are one or two fans who will say the party line of Frank's people, and the truth is probably somewhere in the middle of those two points.
