Wembley, Live Earth right now...
Dave Grohl/Foo Fighters are owning everybody that has performed so far. What a legend Grohl is! Talk about born to perform, within minutes he had the whole stadium bouncing like nodody else was able to do before him. 8)
Poor Madonna has to follow this, talk about an anti-climax, haha.

Re: Wembley, Live Earth right now...
Ok here's a question for you environmentalists (sorry to jump your post oggie but this is the first about live earth i've seen so far):
I have no problems with a huge global concert that solely for the basis of entertainment. I do have a problem with a huge international concert to raise awareness about "human caused" global warming. What are all the 200+ mhz amps running on, The tears of people crying about the environment? No lots and LOTS of electricity (which is so limited we should live like cavemen apparently but only in america according to al gore). How is everyone getting there, Are they walking? No, they are driving and flying in evil co2 emitting vehicles.
For the record, antarctica and the north pole are not melting, They're actually gaining ice mass around their entire continents except for a small region (the region al gore filmed) in the west of antarctica which is becoming warmer. He wan'ts us to limit emissions yet he wants china to do nothing of the sort and they use more power than we do. Global warming is not man made and life has flourished on earth when it has been MUCH hotter than it is now. Al Gore is full of shit and Global warming isn't our fault (if its even happening).
Back to intended direction you ahd for this post to go in:
The foo fighters are an awesome live band (not a big fan of theirs but like a few songs). And I actually like some of Madonna's old stuff. :-[ :-X

Which is of course why a glacier the size of Manhatten broke off a couple of years ago
And why the Japanese are putting in flood walls to contain the expected Global Warming related tide surge

It's expected to rise 14 inches in the next... 100 years!!! That expected huge amount is what alarmists are saying, most scientists will present you with evidence that its not nearly as bad as they are saying. The fact that the antarctic is GAINING ice mass shows that its not melting except from one little part in the west. We've only kept track of american weather records since 1880ish how are we to know that in the 1600's there weren't more hurricanes in florida than on record because no one lived there to keep a record. I'm not saying its dumb to care about the environment, i'm saying its dumb to over hype it liek the worlds gonna end in 10 years. If we HAVE shifted the climate towards the worst (eve tho on a large scale the earth has actually been cooling for the last couple hundred years) driving cars that get you better gas mileage is not gonna fix it. If it IS our fault and if we ARE experiencing it now, it's too late.
Back to subject, I heard they're having bands play on 7 continents. Who the fuck signed up to play in antarctica?
-
Re: Wembley, Live Earth right now...
14 inches is most of Florida right there, most of the state is barely above sea level
You thought New Orleans was bad?
Wait till Jacksonville no longer exists
Not to mention a super hot Gulf turning every single hurricane that hits it in to a monster
Or the snows of Kilamanjaro being turned MIA,a massive lake in Chile going by by,Glaciers in New Zeland and the Andes disapeering,Iceland shrinking, etc, etc, etc
-

Anyways, are they really having bands play in antarctica or did they just mean 7 countries?

For the record man, I agree with what you said about Global warming. Earth goes through a natural warming and cooling process naturally... I wont lie, humans aren't helping... but in the grand scale of things, it is like trying to warm a cold bath with a dropper containing hot water. Technically, it makes a difference, but not as much as people are being led to believe. The earth is getting warmer by its own accord... we can't stop it, it is a natural process.
Oh, and Nunatak are the band that played in Antarctica... they are just a couple of the guys that are working in the research station there anyway. The crowd was a sell out of 17 other researchers, haha.

As for Al Gore he's ridiculous

A gay looking car isn't gonna save you from a rapidly expanding sun once it starts fusing heavier elements (this is still many years off and even when it does start it will take millions to grow big enough to adverse effect the earth beyond human habitation. It needs to be kept in mind that its not the earths job to make life easy for us, its our job to adapt regardless of what it does. Just because the landscape is good in florida doesn't mean you have the right to live there and not expect any adverse weather effects. Plans should be made to completely redesign every american city for these things instead of trying to improve upon current ideas. I have ideas on how to do it (which would lead to us planet hopping away from a growing sun that could lead to million s of extra years of human exsistance) but they are complicated and expensive but getting it done would be well worth it in the long run.

We are essentially animals as well that HAVE to eat meat to function properly. I don't have a problem if you want animals to be removed out of research projects (trivial ones that is, things to find cures for things are needed) but if you think animals deserve to vote and are just as intelligent as humans, i have a HUGE problem with you. People who care more about animals than their own species exsistance are just stupid.

Yeah THOUSANDS OF YEARS FROM NOW....this Global Warming thing USED to be called Global Cooling....and yes the hippies were at the center of it!
Hey if you want to eat granola, not bathe, and consider animals greater than you it's fine that's great go ahead have fun but don't press your views on me because in all honesty EVERYONE has an opinion on something and I have made my choice....yes I respect the environment, yes I like nature but NO I do not think 200 years of man's burning of fossil fuels can immediately DESTROY THE EARTH.

Yes, it is normal and acceptable to treat animals cruely, ruin the environment and want to have wars all the time.

Mate how big is it when your actually their,it's unreal but i think the acoustics need sorting bigtime (kinda echos a lot in places when the place ain't full rammed-which only happens early or when people are at the bars) it definatley doesn't hold the sound in as well as the old Wembley, not at Muse a few weeks ago anyway so they need 2 rows of the scaffold tower speaker racks with the last being bang in your face if your seated at the back i reckon.
I saw up to Bloc party but missed the Foo fighters live but have seen them rocking it on this thread.
Wicked band and they played Everlong O0
Can't wait till England Estonia in the Euro Qualifier, that's where you do wants a bit of Reverb on the noise ;)

I wouldnt of minded seing Genisis, but got there a little to late to see them on stage, so had to watch on the big screen while drinking wine and eating lamb chops in the great hall on the top floor ^-^

Smash Wemnely is too big! I was sitting there thinking ''Please let me see the day when Ricky fights here''
It would be sick. Id kill for tickets mate!
The reverb was wicked from were i was sitting. i did notice that maybe there was a sound delay issue that was fixed becuase the big screen and sound were in perfect sinc but the little ants on stage were well out.
Some bird called Terra sumfin was singing in a yodley, country kinda way but you should of heard how her voice was reverberating around the stadium... Chilling.

Tell a bear you think it has a right to be treated fairly in nature and watch it eat you beacuse its hungry. Look up to the sky and say you're fighting to make sure it stays blue and then go home to see your house destroyed by a hurricane/tornado/flood/earthquake/lightning induced fire. Tell the people we're fighting that you think its wrong we are fighting them and that they should be living peacefully (and freely plan to destroy us because its their natural born right ::**) and they'll kill you simply because you live where you live. I'm not saying its ok to beat animals, pollute, or go to war but trying to stop all three of the above gets you 0 appreciation by those you're trying to save. Animals, nature, and people that hate you for no reason don't care what you do, they'll still hate/kill you.
Thats my view on it. ;)

I agree that the universe and most animals etc are indifferent to us. But the solution is not necessarily to adopt a 'black and white' view of the world and abrogate any responsibility for the consequences of our actions. It should not matter that animals or the world give us no appreciation.
Equally, (and I am certainly not a eco-friendly, sandal-wearing liberal myself), anyone who does - or does not - do any of these things cannot be simply categorised by a meanlingless generalisation.

I'm talking about the people who take it alittle too far (peta dropping animal blood on japanese school children = extreme). Sometimes they do things that don't even make sense (an environmentalist group burning tires to protest the usage of cars and the damage it does to the environment ???). And the occasional anti any war people that say "What did they ever do to us?". Everybody should stand for something but sometimes they just take it too far. I don't think there's a person out there who wants to dump battery acid in the ocean for fun, beat animals just for the hell of it, or go to war just for the sake of fighting but messed up stuff is gonna happen.

Re: Wembley, Live Earth right now...
I agree with you now, but that's not what you said - you said "Anyone who fights for animal rights, environmental reforms, or extreme anti war measures, is a sub-specie of hippie".
I'm just making the point that I disagree with that statement on it's own, as posted. ;)

I'm saying all three in a single person. There's those that dog fight, those that dump acids in water to save money on disposel costs, and those that go to war with people just because they have nothing better to do (insert ignorant USA bashing comment here) but very rarely do you get all those qualities in a single person.
