Does Wlad have jab or what
Wow that jab alone would have taken out Brewster given a few more rounds. He hits so hard with it, and is getting to be very hard to hit cleanly. Klitschko IMO is still a head higher than competition in skill. Should be interesting him against Chagaev.

Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
Kudos to Buddy McGirt for encouraging Lamon to give up.

Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
Jeah klitsckos jab was insane, I sped home to catch the fight and was lucky enough to get home by the third round, jeah gota work on a dam saturday. I've only seen ruslan fight once, so I can't really judge him but I think he would lose to wlad. You have to be able to absorb a crapload of punishment to beat klit, and that alone often times isn't enough as shown in the peter fight. Well naturally that isn't enough you have to be able to hit him too, and as you said that's getting pretty dam hard to do, so even if his chin is below average it's not as relevant anymore, and I don't think his chin is all that bad honestly.

Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
I don't know Chagaev is pretty tricky, I don't think he can beat Wladimir, but he's sneaky, and thats all I am going to say about him.

Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
If that fat bum had gone down in the fifth like he was supposed to,Id look like a god on the prediction thread ;D
-
Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
Yep if your a tall heavyweight with a good snapping jab = a great shot at winning a title these days..although not saying wladimir is just that he does bring more elements.
-
Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
He's moving really well - every time I see him lately he moves like a smaller fighter.
-
Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
Just when I thought Wlad would throw 1 or 2 jabs he threw 3 or 4 and all would snap Lamon's head back with the same force!
Lamon has a hell of a chin and it's good to know he has a trainer smart enough to get him to take the loss to fight another day.
I would like for Lamon to continue fighting he's tough and a good fighter to watch...I would like to see him fight some top teir guys and even some younger guys. I really want him to avenge his loss to Lyakhovich though!
Both guys were class acts tonight

Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
brewster does have a tremendous chin btw.its why buddy wanted to stop the fight, he knew that brewster could take the beating standing up, but in the long run he'd be all fucked up.
-
Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
Oh yeah I totally agreed with the stoppage, Brewster's eye didn't need to take that jab anymore.
I hope Lamon comes back he's a good fighter he just needs more time with Buddy.

Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
wlad dont just have a very quick and accurate jab...
WLAD'S JAB IS VERY POWERFUL...
-
Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
Klitchko's jab has really improved up to this point. It's snap and quickness has improved, he throws a bigger volume of jabs and he doesn't paw as much anymore. Plus he's good at using his jab to just get in his opponents face and he can also throw a hard stiff jab with weight behind it.
-
Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
He has one of the best jabs in heavyweight history. He throws it so fast and can turn it into a hook just as fast.He can win his fights with the jab alone if he wanted to.

He pretty much did beat Brewster with the jab! He threw other punches, but none as meaningful as the jab tonight.

Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
....Brewster rolled with those right crosses but they still did damage, not as much as usually but still.
I would love to see Wladimir-Sam Peter II because as much as Sam has gotten better, Wlad has done even more!
-
Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
I think Wlad's jab will be legendary to the fans of boxing and dreaded by all opponents.
-
Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
....I can tell you right now there are some very good fighters out there who don't like that jab at all....pretty much everyone except Corrie Sanders

I think that fight is Wlad's toughest right now...and I'd still give Peter a decent shot at it. If Peter wins his next fightm a unification with Wlad would be HUGE!!

Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
He is becoming so much less robotic and relaxed. Not fully there yet but is a lot less then he was 3 years ago. I think it makes Wlad a better fighter by far. Vitaly was becoming mor loose in every fight until he retired. I have to give the credit for that to Emmanual Steward. Wlad is without a doubt the best HW in the world right now

Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
big vladdy will not lose to any current fighter
also i wouldnt mind watch8ing peter KTFO brewster

hmmmm...he isnt just a tall heavyweight with a jab, he's the tallest heavyweight who makes the most use of the jab...which trumps the rest of the division because they is no one out there especially talented who can get inside and mount a successful body attack (maybe Peter) and there is no one his size who has any skill at all. I thought he made good use of the jab but it was all he did and it made for a pretty boring fight. i thought if klitchko was that good he should have thrown more power shots off the jab and finished Brewster off...the guy was dead in the water after the fourth. Wladimir is way too careful and it could be his undoing as he gets tired in there eventually and becomes super vulnerable because he has a fragile chin for a heavyweight. He should look to end fights sooner to avoid giving his opponents that chance although it definitely wasnt looking like it was an issue at any point tonight...boring but successful and technical showing by W.Klitschko. If he takes out Sam Peter then he gets my nod as the true heavyweight champ of the world, but until then, it's anybody's game IMO.

Vlad??? I do not see that. He is robotic and slow on his feet but he has quick hands and really benefits from size mainly and lack of good heavyweights.
-
Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
WLad is a head above the rest of the HW division IMO, we're looking at a guy with incredible boxing skills to go along with his incredible physical attributes.

His robotic movement is nothing like it used to be he is moving great. His jab is like a piston. He is eveloping his own style slowly
-
Re: Does Wlad have jab or what
He did look good and if he gets the jab going he's pretty much unbeatable i think.

Yeah - but remember that the guy is HUGE! For his size, he's moving extremely well, both in and out and laterally. He's not going to look like PBF in the ring - that's obvious - but he's a lot more fluid than some other fighters that big!

I don't think the heavyweights are bad....that's all people have said since ALI retired, they only liked Tyson because he KO'd all of them but it wasn't a competitive era.
This era is competitive and it's also the era after the good heavyweights of the 90's: Lewis is retired, Holyfield SHOULD retire as should Bowe, Tyson is done, Mercer is gone, Morrison has HIV, Tua is done for, Ibeabuchi is in jail, and hey we have what we have and Wlad is beating the best they can find.
Bad fights are being made and therefore we don't have a dominant champion but if we did have those fights made Wlad would be the guy

Funny because all of the comentators always comment on how well he moves for a big man.He is not slow on his feet or robotic, he is a great boxer that is why he won 134 out of 140 fights as an amateur because he was quick and outboxed his oposition, his height didn't play a big part of that.
