Hating And Appreciating All In The Same Thread(Wladimir Klitschko)
APPRECIATION
Congrats Big guy :appl: you have earned my respect and avenged the biggest blemish on your career despite a broken finger that requires an arm cast. you certainly proved me wrong you have made great strides mentally and Technically and are undoubtedly the king pin at Heavy for Now, depending how Sam Peter has improved and your brothers comeback go's....
HATING
Although you are the best Heavy and regained your legitamacy.. I still cant embrace you as a fan, I cant even think of you with the likes of Louis, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes,Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis . There is something missing about you, I think its your tentativeness and propensity to not hold your ground and clinch at the 1st sign a fighter comes alive. you appear to be a bundle of nerves and lack the killer instinct in the ring and I think you have a soft ticker and I dont think of that when I think of a good-great Heavyweight. I feel you are not even 1/2 of the warrior as  your prodessors were and that is sad for the tradition rich Heavyweight division  :-\
Last nite was one of the boringest Heavyweight Fights I have ever seen, Brewster didnt want to fight and lacked heart and interest, you could have demolished him easily but where content on just jabbing, jabbing, jabbing, jabbing, pawing, pawing, jab.  :cwm33: it works for you and thats good I guess, but dosent motivate me to get anymore interested in the Heavyweight division

I think even the haters recognize Wlad's no1 but this part of your post sums it up for me "I still cant embrace you as a fan" :)

He's atleast in the top 3 of current heavies, but i just can't be a fan of his (unless of course he's fight byrd as i root for anyone who's fighting byrd). You can call me a hater (which someone here will do regardless of what i say) but it just doesn't seem right to me for him to be next in line for the Undisputed heavyweight crown.

Thanks :coolclick: #183.... He is winning and thats all that counts. I just cant embrace him, I think he is just soft and lacks the untangibles that historically marks a great Heavyweight i ;)

Re: Hating And Appreciating All In The Same Thread(Wladimir Klitschko)
Wladimir is good fighter well done for avenging that loss i haven't watched the fight yet but from what i heard Brewster didn't come to fight and was punchbag Wladimir will always be good fighter in my book with good skills but imo lucky he isn't in stronger era like the 90s.
-
Re: Hating And Appreciating All In The Same Thread(Wladimir Klitschko)
he'll fade away..because Vitaly is coming back this nov..and he's the real champion...
-
Re: Hating And Appreciating All In The Same Thread(Wladimir Klitschko)
Never really liked him but he's clearly the best out there to me
I don't like his style, in fact I can't think of any of Emmanuel Steward's recent fighters styles that I like, but it works for him. Makes him tough to beat considering he's such a good athlete. He's not an infighter but holding is allowed in boxing, whether it should be or not (Shouldn't IMO). Its not by any means just him that holds to cover up a lack of infighting skills.

you're getting a bit annoying with this.
"unbelievers" I just said he was the best out there. JTRock said he was the kingpin of the division, nobody's saying he's a bad fighter.
We don't have to like the guy. You're a big fan, good for you.

I totally agree with you Oumafan we have all said he is best in this era but doesn't mean we have to think he would beat anyone from any era.

Its a bit odd, all yesterday before the fight the guy was taking it so personally if you didn't like Wlad, like it was offensive or something. I could understand maybe if we were totally disrespecting him, acting like he was a bum but at least 95 percent of people on this board assume he's the best guy out there, and not all of those people like Wlad. Its like a campaign to convert "non-believers" or something, I could care less if people dislike the fighters I like.

Why ??? I gave him his due, I just dont like him and his style. Wlad is not what I admire and root for in a Heavyweight champion.. I appreciate and respect that you are a zealou fan of his and its cool with me, but theres nothing your opinions will do to sway my feelings ;)

Saying you take it too personally is a "stupid personal attack?" I don't know man, you seem to get real upset if anybody says anything negative about Wlad.
Why the constant talk about how were all haters and unbelievers. Is that really talking about boxing. I don't like the guy that much, if that makes me a hater so be it. But I'm not an "unbeliever", I just said I thought he was clearly the best in the division. He is clearly the best in the division. I don't see how anybody could think otherwise, but doesn't mean I enjoy watching him fight.

it was apparent early on that Brewster wasnt gonna make a fight out of it, Wlad was jabbing his balls of, he could have opened up a bit offensevly putting more combos together, seeing Brewster wasnt gonna make him pay for the openings he would leave.

Good post JT CC in 24. .it’s hard to embrace a guy that does not risk anything. Just like Lewis before him, great fighters, but not exciting style. Stays in his range, ties up on the inside , boring,. take a guy like Riddick Bowe, Tall fighter, but was willing to fight on the inside and did well , keep a good offense going . Inside fighting is where the excitement truly begins

Re: Hating And Appreciating All In The Same Thread(Wladimir Klitschko)
They all hate Wlad but will bet (real money)on him 9 out of ten times or won't bet at all.
-
Re: Hating And Appreciating All In The Same Thread(Wladimir Klitschko)
Hey, he throws more than Lennox does, and he actually puts steam on his jab which Lennox hardly ever did. I love Lennox, but I am just saying that the heavyweights of the past have been great as much because of their flaws as because of their strengths. If Ali had the defensive skills of Mayweather we would have never heard about Frazier after Ali would have beaten him the first time. If Foreman didn't tire, and if he had better boxing skills he would have been top of the world while Frazier, and Ali would have slipped into his shadow. Every fighter had their flaws. I don't think Wlad could fight at Ali's pace because he doesn't have Ali's chin, and also being as muscular and ginormous as he is it takes a lot more energy for him to move.

Its because they have even less confidence in his opponents which is plausible considering the division.

Sorry JonesJrMayweather, now JT Rock is absolutely right and I find amusing how he and Punisher agree on this one, with your statement I can't agree with... Since you seem to be a wise, senseful and pretty neutral fan, man, let me ask ya... How come Vitaly sticks that left lead and leans his head back as he does so? Then combines the jab with a fast right but discharges the power and leaves the right hand there ( even vs Kirk Johnson)??? The guy is so damn tentative and cautious that if he didn't have power he wouldn't be better than Henry Akinwande... The real Champ that quitter ( vs Byrd, never fought Rahman), get outa here!!!

Brewster was in the same boat as Oliver McCall in his rematch with Lennox Lewis he just didn't cry before giving up but Brewster like McCall knew he was going to the mat before it was over so he gave up.

Lewis needed other guys to sell tickets, his style was boring... smart fighter in the ring no question , but boring, Lewis needed the Holyfield, and Tyson’s to sell the seats. Lewis could have been more exciting fighter and was before Manny , Steward seems to neuter his prospects.. Lewis Klitchko Taylor, Cintron, all have the starch taking out of them.. much better and exciting before Steward came into the picture in my opinion

not half the warrior of his predessors...based on what????
wlad has gotten up every time he has been knocked down..
boring fights you have ever seen... yeah spinks-taylor dlh-mayweather and the simms fight just blew that away
you discredit brewster heart and will... get peppered w/ 100 of wlads jabs and see how much you can come forward... he is also a pro HW and your questioning his heart and will?? brewsters hearts and will was concidered legendary before the klitchko fight...he fought most of a fight with a detached retina for gods sake... but his heart and will suddenly wasnt there when he fought last night??? alot of that had to do w/ wlad dont you think?
see i dont want to seem like i just worship the feet wlad walks on but alot of critisism wlad gets even form good posters like jt rock still give mostly pure opinion that one could say the same about mayweather, hatton, or anyone today..
did gatti have will against mayweather sure he did he just wasnt on his level ... same with brewster...

Re: Hating And Appreciating All In The Same Thread(Wladimir Klitschko)
Klitschko, overly protected yet possibly the top heavyweight now, earned, gained nothing last night.
Brewster hadn't fought in a year, hadn't won in two years. Brock, Byrd and the rest where carefully chosen because they where light punching opponents. Even in the weak division, Wlad can find more guys to avoid than to fight.

Wlad has fought by far the best competition of any HW since Lewis...
byrd beat vitali.. concidered a dangerous threat the first time they fought....
peter was a very dangerous opponent for him especially at that point in his career, sanders was a risky fight, both brewster fights were risky all very hard punchers...
come to think of it i think wlad has faced every huge puncher of the current HW's today...

Undefeated Sam Peter, Undefeated Calvin Brock, Chris Byrd the longest reigning champion of that time.
Who the hell is out there that you want to see him beat? No matter who it is he'll beat them easy and you'll still be complaining.

Since Lewis left hw era has been weak so thats not saying whole lot is it ?? Byrd only beat Vitali because of injury Vitali had plus Vitali was dominating Byrd 1st Brewster fight was not a risk Brewster had beaten nobody at that time and was not really considered to give Wlad trouble at all so that is why it was considered a major upset i agree with Sanders fight though.

He's coming back and would you wanna take byrd's or rahman's chances of beating Vitali here on out for the rest of their career? I didn't think so. The byrd thing was THE luckiest break in boxing history and rahman isn't good enough to be "ducked" (his claim to fame is a ko against an out of shape lennox lewis who took him, lightly, ir efer you to the rematch). Why is Vitali a better champ despite his less refined skills you ask? Because Vitali was never dropped 4 times in 2 rounds to look like a helpless infant fighting a bear. He was holding his own against lennox (something wlad could never do) and thats his only legit loss. Yeah he quit against byrd and because of it byrd has been hyped up to something much better than he actually is but i'll take vitali over any boxer in this division right now given the fact that he is healthy.

Peter beat no one of relevance at the time, Brock is a fringe contender at best and will remain so for the rest of his career, and chris byrd's "longest" reign consisted of 5 defences in 4 years against nobodies.
