GATTI vs. GOMEZ brought a tear to my eye!

The look on Gatti's face and the fashion he was broken down was just plain sad to watch. When they were working on the lip a minute after the KO Arturo just looked confused.

After seeing Gatti fight Paterson, Robinson, Ward, this was just disheartening... I've seen many boxers get retired but this was just a total meltdown.

Gatti said something in an interview a year or so ago, "There will never be another Arturo Gatti. When I'm gone the world is gonna miss me!"

So sad to see but he went out the only way he knew how, on his shield :-\

I think is was true what Manny was saying, that the fight Gomez fought was great and that Gomez would have given Gatti fits even in his prime... He's not a great fighter but decent... He'll do OK.(Best win of the "Contenders" so far)

That being said,

Goodbye Arturo... Please retire!

I'd rather watch your career on my DVD player then see you hurt!

Ah well look on the bright side at least Alfonso's performance makes Manfredo's loss to him slightly more bearable ;)

By the way I pm'd you about those discs, did they arrive yet?

Suprised they havn't arrived to be honest. I posted out to two of my Australian customers the same time and they've both got theres ???

I've not got any customers in the US, does it take longer for post to reach your shores? I guess customs probably have to check every parcel for WMD's :D

Actually I've done it a few times, I have a habit of giving my mum's post code when asked for my own. I always say my brothers phone number when asked for mine too, just a reflex cos I dial it so much. I usually struggle to remember my own as I've never rung it lol

Yeah that killed me last night....Arturo had nothing from the opening bell. He was a shot fighter all together....Yeah maybe in his prime Gomez would have given him fit's anyway but to see Arturo be dominated like that and not even be able to turn it into a war was sad....

Boxing owes Arturo Gatti a big Thank You......When we had no one to make us want to watch Gatti did that for us....

He made us cheer for him even when he lost.....

I wrote once the only time you walk away dis-appointed from an Arturo Gatti fight is because he lost....

Last night after that fight I was dis-appointed because he deserved better then that....

God Bless him and Thanks for All the Memories...There are a lot of them..

Gatti has given so much to Boxing so huge respect to the man 8)

Imagine if he teams up with Ward to create the next generation of Gatti/Ward fighters. ;D

And I backed Gomez for the KO at 6/1

Arturo its time to retire... We have some great memories of his battles, but it time for "No Mas".

It was sad to see Arturo being beat with that ease taking everything.

Other fighter I'm hoping retire is Erick Morales. During his last fight interview he made some statements in which the Spanish speakers could appreciate all the emotion he had (there was one of the worst translations I've heard) and he was basically saying good bye. But now he will be back. I hope he and Arturo retire on time.

Glad he has retired he is totaly shot and it is a shame to watch him taking big shots to the head all the time.

He already announced his retirement. After his previous losses and the punishment from the last fight, I can't see how even for the love of boxing that he would come back for more of the same.

It's still great to watch his old fights, but nobody wants to see an Arturo Gatti beatdown.
