Lets not count Khan out yet i think saturday night will have taught him a lesson stop going for the ko just to please the fans stick with his boxing and don't allow himself to get over anxious.I would still lean towards Khan against Thaxton Khan would'nt be daft enough to mix it up early.
Just about everyone in the country around that weight will fancy the job now.
I think Thaxton maybe by the end of the year, my next fight would be against Lee Meager if i was Kahn good decent fighter who comes to fight, then id take Earl ( who for me is on the slide) then Thaxton.
Knowing Frank Warren his next fight will be Ricky Burns
Even Burns would be considered to dangerous at the mo
But at least he can't punch.Quote:

But to be honest it might have done Amir good. He's been a star since 17/18 years old and has just been swept along with his own hype.
I mean imagine being at such a young and impressionable age as he is and having all your boxing hero's, the British media and analyists all saying you're the greatest British prospect ever and that you are going to be a superstar.
He's always come across to me like a starry eyed pop idol contestant when he's talking about how he wants to rule the world and win multiple world titles. He's just parroting what the people around him are telling him.
Now he's been hurt like this he, and perhaps more importantly his team have had a reality check. He now knows he can't just turn up and whoop whoever is put in front of him and that even at domestic level the opposition is tough.
He may now start to inwardly doubt himself but that might be a good thing, making him more cautious and taking every opponent more seriously.
I still think he has tremendous potential.
People should cut him some slack, he's at a stage now where ordinarily he wouldn't have even made it onto television yet but he's already a veteran of being in the media.
It's a heck of a lot of resposibility to put on such young shoulders.
I wish more people would get off his back. We have a funny tendancy in Britain to want to destroy our best sporting stars and gloat in their failures rather than cheer them on and hope they can proudly wave the flag for us in the future.
Good for Thaxton has said he will go on a SN card to fight him ;D
I'm with Bilbo there is no way Warren would match Khan with Thaxton.
I haven't seen thaxton fight tbh, but if he's a good pro who can punch then I think it would likely be a 3 hit fight. You forgot the part where the ambulance hits 80.Quote:

Gonna be hard not to let them fight imo.
Khan needs a new trainer, I get the impression he's surrounded by yes men who just tell him how good he is.
A fight with Thaxton would really tell us how far he's come. IMO he has enough skills to outpoint Thaxton already, that's IF he doesn't get over anxious for the KO, bigger punchers have failed to KO Thaxton. It would be a good fight for the fans as well.
Thanxton will beat Khan!!!
If they fought right now then probably yes, but Warren won't rush Khan now.Quote:

Thaxton lost to Augustus didn't he? Stopped even. How good is he? I've only seen that fight and another from him, against Meeger maybe?
Thaxton will lose.
and once he does Khan will fight for the British title :DQuote:

All khan needs to do is learnt o fuck what the crowd wont and learn to fight on his bike at times... mayweather gets hate for it be his the p4p king and mega rich...
Once khan learns to let the other guy force it while hes dancing around on his bike he will go far, right now he is trying to impress...
This could be a very good fight, I would like to see although I wouldn't fault the Khan camp for
waiting on this one he is still very young.
Thats because people just don't like Mayweather. People love or "loved" Khan. And people just want him to make a mistake and are waiting for it so much that when he does they jump on it.Quote:

I could see Kahn beating Thaxton who gets hit quite easy, Earl would be a gamble because of his power and bravery, Meager is brave and has power but also very easy to hit.
The problem Frank now has is although boasting that Kahn is ahead of Hamed at the same stage of their careers, Hamed never looked that bad early on, Kahn now has a title and now everyone has seen Kahn can be hit and hurt and still hasnt gone past 8 rounds, they will relish the job and sooner ratehr than later, before he improves any.
Kahns sparring cant be that good, he will not learn anything beating up and overwhealming the same old faces in training, hes not being made to think in sparring and it showed when Limond was walking him down, if I were Frank id send him over to Gleasons, Wildacrd, kronk or any gym that has a non stop que of of boxers wanting a piece of Kahn, this is the only way he will improve, being made to work and think in training, he is too used to overwhelming opponents with his strength and speed, mainly because they are all smaller.
Nice idea in theory but I don't think Frank allows his fighters to have passports ;)Quote:

Kahn will only improve when he feels under pressure in the boxing ring, his last fight was a start but if he goes back to the routine sparring then he will struggle with the better fighters he will now be facing with that title

For me, Amir's guard and defence were what let him down, as he held a high guard and fought well early on, but as soon as he started to let his hands drop and started rolling those fists as he does, it was obvious to me that his chin was going to get tested, no matter how fast your hands are, if they're not up in a guard, you're going to struggle to block punches.
I think that three or four fights against opponents of the caliber of Willie Limond will teach him to keep those hands up, and coaches will be drumming it into him from now till eternity. In the same way Calzaghe's overcome his dodgy hands by adapting his punching, Khan will just have to work around that dodgy chin of his, and develop so that it becomes very difficult for him to get hit there. He's shown he's a decent counter puncher, so it's a viable option.
But if he fights Thaxton now, it could all go pear-shaped for my money.
I'd love it if Khan joined Team Calzaghe and Enzo trained him ;)
Really think they'd bring the best out of him and Calzaghe snr is one of our best trainers imo and just gets better and better :)
Thaxton would lay him down the first big punch he hit him with.
But if that happened we'd never get to see Khan on a world stage, he'll be another stay at home fighter.Quote:

This is the worst constructed sentence I have seen on this forum. And considering we have Ice Cold Boxing on this forum that's saying something. Have a look at some of Sal the Butcher's drunken posts for some tips. ;)Quote:

And although Nelson had a shaky start to his career, he went through Euro and on to the WBO title, and held on to it for ages, beating fighters such as Guillermo Jones and Ezra Sellers in the process. Not that I'm a Warren fan, but you're not constructing your argument in any logical way, and making yourself look slightly silly.
Mate this guy hasnt a clue, Johnny Nelson the girl?? My God Johnny Nelson has probably covered more miles than most boxers ever, he has been to nearly every country in the world, and has been shafted about as many times, people like him havent really got a clue about boxing.Quote:
