Pongsaklek Wonjongkam lost his WBC Flyweight title after 16 consecutive defenses.
The wild swinging Japanese Slugger Daisuke Naito took an unanimous decision
over the southpaw.

This could be good, kinda shakes up the Flyweight division a bit with BOTH
Wonjongkam and Darchynian losing in this past week.

The surprising thing for me is that he beat Naito twice already once was a 34 second KO in round one.
The second fight was stopped because of Naito's cuts 7th or 8th round can't remember.

I was surprised too. I remember ppl saying this was a "gimme fight" and that the Japanese Champ has been ducking.

Good to shake things up when just months ago that division was unshakable.

Thais makes me happy. Hopefully he retires and wishes he had cashed in while he could have. Congrats to Naito on his decision win, hopefully they wont fight for a fourth time though.

Easy. I've known about Naito since 2001. He was 18-0 when he went up against fellow prospect Takefumi Sakata (15-0) in a highly anticipated fight in Japan. The winner was suppose to get a shot at the champion. Which was Wonjongkam. The fight was a draw. But Naito was said to have the edge and was always considered the better prospect/fighter. So he got the title shot. And he chocked. He got caught in like 30 something seconds with a punch and it was over. Naito blamed it on inexperience. Considering he was 19-0 and Wonjongkam was 43-2. I excepted his excuse. Naito proceded to go 8-0 with 6 knock outs to earn another shot at Wonjongkam. Naito came out tight in that fight and gave away the first 4 rounds. He finally got on track and took the fight to Wonjongkam. But a head butt caused a cut and he lost when the fight went to the cards. Naito went 3-0 to force a 3rd fight with Wonjongkam. And I had a feeling he was pretty much over the mental hurdle of being knocked out in one round. So I felt if he fought his fight from the beginning than he had a great chance at beating Wonjongkam. And he did.

I have issues when you used the word 'earned' another shot..... and 'forced' a 3rd fight.
I think both you and I can agree that if anyone earned or deserved a shot at PongsaShit it was Arce cause he was the Interim Champ.
Naito kept fighting PongsaShit cause it was the choice of Team PongsaShit not because Naito was earning or forcing anything.
