Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO

Hes probably just about top 8 British fighter at 140, madness!!!
-
Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO
well he DID beat a guy who was 5-0 (now 6-7) and a guy who was 15-1 (now 20-11, who even managed to beat the great sukhanov http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...0991&cat=boxer)

Come on Skel, did you see M'baye's last bout. In reality he should have lost the belt, but he didn't and Rees looked like he could be capitalising.
-
Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO
M'Baye was the champion, Rees took it off him.
Good on him. Madness!
-
Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO
What a load of shat, and to think I had M'Baye by knockout in the prediction comp >:mad
I'm getting sick of all these shitty fighters letting me down and making it look like I don't know shit. >:mad

Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO
Are you repenting this ludicrous statement now Sal? Rees was in for his first real challenge, and props to him he went in there with desire and workrate, and took the belt. Not sure how long he'll hang on to it though.
-
Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO
Mbaye didn't show up and Rees outworked him in every round. For you guys that haven't seen it the size difference was MASSIVE. Rees is only 5'3"!!
You gotta give Rees credit for a spirited and watchable performance 8)
-
Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO
mbaye is a fucking disgrace
-
Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO
Agreed. He must of thrown single figures in every round and I don't remember him taking the initiative once...
-
Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO
Great performance from Rees

honestly i think hes even shitter after seeing that atrocity, mbaye should never be given even a regional titel shot ever again tho, all he had to do was lead with a fucking right hand a few times

I've been telling people all week that M'baye fluked a world title, and that he was just an average counter fighter, but from what I've heard he was almost embarrassing in there. Again, I think Rees isn't really a natural light-welter, being a bit too small for it, but he's showed enough to win, and it is a legit WBA title after all....so no Warren's Boxing Organisation digs on this one. ;)

Rees wins poor fight
Rees fought well but the fight was poor, Warren nets another belt, M'baye never really turned up, i might be taking something away from Rees saying that but thats what it look like.
Did'nt like his piss taking at the end no need for it poor atitude to have does'nt win you friends, but he won, and good look i think he may need it.

Mbaye was a disgrace i dont think he is elite or anything but i saw him against the Argentinian boxer a couple of fights back and he looked ok, but tonight? What was that?
Also it was for the WBA Strap not the Warren Organisation. ;D

Re: Rees wins poor fight
To be honest with you, M'baye just didn't show up for the fight looking at the highlights, and quite simply since winning the belt he has done nothing to prove that he deserves to be the champion. He was lucky to hang on to the belt against Kotelnik, and losing tonight was not a surprise to me, whatever everyone else thinks.
-
Re: Rees wins poor fight
I was quite clear from very early on that M'Baye didnt have a clue what to do with Rees. That could have gone on for twenty rounds and he wouldnt have been any closer to winning. Absolutely terrible showing, no clue, no bollocks, and no belt.

Re: Rees wins poor fight
Youre as good as the other fella lets you be
-
Wow only just have I learned how awful M'Baye really is................
Just saw on boxingtalk, Gavin Rees' record is 27-0 with.....wait for it...........0 KO's!!!!!!! :o
According to boxingtalk historians are now going through the archives to check if he is unique.
It appears that he's the first and ONLY fighter in the history of boxing to win a world title having never stopped a single opponent in his entire career.
This guy makes Sergio Mora and Paulie Malignaggi look like bangers :-\
Well done little guy any how, you won't be champ for long but at least you did it.
M'Baye...........give it up mate.
-
Re: Wow only just have I learned how awful M'Baye really is................
He doesn't have any KO's but he does have 13 TKO's.
-
Re: Wow only just have I learned how awful M'Baye really is................
yes rees really does punch like a MULE ;D a dead 1 :)

Ah just checked his boxrec record, well surely that counts as 13 KO's ???
My apologies, I only quoted what boxingtalk said about him here
http://www.boxingtalk.com/pag/article12934.html
How misleading and unfair, ih he's got 13 tko's then he has 13 ko's imo
I wouldn't have posted it if I would have known that. What a misleading shitty piece of journalistic sleight of hand that was by BoxingTalk, a :sadclick: to them
The article was written by a Scot Shaffer, who from now shall be known as douchebag >:mad

Re: Rees wins poor fight
WOW............ WBA ! 1 of Warrens fighters actually has a REAL world title belt !!!!!! i thought id seen everything ;D
wot next , Warren to keep his word in the future ? scary stuff lol ;D ;D ;D

Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO ((contains result))
Well done to Rees and all, but this just goes to show that boxing at the minute isn't working. You've got Gavin Rees with a "respected" version of a world title, and you've got Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton without. Luckily the boxing community successfully crowns their own champions, it's a shame the officials can't do the same.
-
Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO ((contains result))
When Gavin Rees was ducking down Mbaye would have had to punch about the same height as his knees. He was clueless yesterday and even when Rees would skip back to take a breather Mbaye never pressed the action.
He got what he deserved tonight and goes him without his title.

Yeah I read that article yesterday also. I just so happened to remember watching a fight Rees got a TKO in and I was thinking "are they talking about a different Gavin Rees?" Checked out boxrec and saw he had 13 TKO's. It seems someone did some fact checking because they have changed it now.

Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO ((contains result))
Ree's looked ok to me. What makes me laugh though is that Frank Warren was claiming Hatton Vacated the belt because he was afraid to fight M'Baye.

Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO ((contains result))
I think this is Amir's shoat in for a title to be honest, if he wants glory early he would certainly be a lot easier than somebody like Juan Diaz who looks like he will probs own the lighweights!

I still think the Frank Warren is going to bring Khan on slowly, and let him have a few fights at Commonwealth level, cause if he goes in with Rees and wins, there's gonna be a few awkward questions when Khan starts to avoid fights with mandatories, and then gives up the belt to chase a super-fight/rematch with Rees.

;D ???the title is there for khan how do you think gav won his opponent only had to Jab at the top of his head to keep gav away not rocket science is it he took a back hander to make gav look good so when khan fights him for title gets viewing with tv station seen gav in training in gym he is too fat likes his drink to much

The point I'm making is that I reckon Warren won't want to see Khan take a world title too early, because when the mandatories come about Khan will be facing fighters with maybe 20-30 fights for him, and will likely get his arse handed to him on a plate because he doesn't have the experience.

???if khan wins title its easy to keep away from top challengers for about 1year warren will make sure of that top challengers can be paid to slip title fights any way I know what you are saying about avoiding fights

???I know what your on about but its easy to keep away from top challengers if your the champion they can get paid to stand aside or if they are not in with the right promoter they wont get the chance at all

Re: GAVIN REES IS GONNA GET KTFO ((contains result))
Mbaye was truly awful he did not get going.
Rees will not hold the title too long and Amir will not be groomed for this title as Warren be too afraid that he will leave him!
