All I have to say is that was a damn good fight.
All I have to say, when B-hop retires I have a new fave fighter
THAT ladies and gent is heart

Not impressed with him. Plenty of power but not much else at championship level.
Great fight Amonsot was very durable i loved that fight, the fights i have seen the last two weeks have been supurb. from my side of the pond and over in the States. Great stuff ;D
GReat fight but I think we have seen yet again an overhyped puncher get humiliated by an unknown puny little Asian dude, we've had Arce, Darchinyan, and almost Katsidis, actually Katsidis looks worse than all of them come the end.
I don't like him at all really, plus he comes in as a gladiator which annoys me. Ok if your Roy Jones but not for anybody else.
I agree totally bilbo, the faces at the end of the fight you would never think Katsidis won but hes exciting and good for the game, but a good match up, i was very impressed lets hope Winky Hopkins is just as good.Quote:

What a war! Katsidis won pretty clearly though!
I was immpressed with Amonsot as much as Katsidis. He was the more skilled boxer and was winning most of the rounds except for the ones he was knocked down. HBO was very bias and Ledderman was giving Katsidis rounds he lost. I thought 114-112 was about right but 116-110 was ridiculous. HBO didnt give Amonsot any credit and gave Katsidis too much imo, but I would love to see a rematch.
Katsidis may be exciting, but I wouldn't put any long term championship legacy hope on the guy
Guys you have to remember Kat is still learning his craft. Earl was the first top-liner he'd faced before Amonsot. He's a work in progres but he should be hot when he's finished. A real big heart.

But he said he wanted to fight Juan Diaz already and was about to fight Guzman, so that means he would have been beaten badly?
Katsidis needs 6 good months off and then a few tune ups to work on those skills. Perhaps then he might be ready to step up but he does need some work.Quote:

I don't want him to change a thing. I think the fight was so good because he was flawed, I would rather see him as an arturo gatti than a winky wright
Who fucken uderstands you people? ???
You got one of the most exciting fights this year SO take it as that. No ones saying Kats is unbeatble, No one is saying Kats is the man at Lightweight, No one is saying Kats will be around for ever.
Appreciate the fight for what it was, appreciate Kats for what he is a fwocken warrior.
He fought with 1 fwocken eye, it's obvous you guys haven't seen much of Kats or you would already know he has onion skin and cuts easily, hes wild and packs a punch.
If Kats would have gone out there and danced around and won a shitty decision you'd all be here saying what a shitty performance by Kats, and in the words of one of my good friends here (Starr) you'd say he was 'exposed' ::**
Fucken kid fights his ass off and give a Gatti, Basilio, Carbajal performance and all you guys can do is look at the negatives.
That's like going back to Titos early fights when he would get dropped and people were quick to ride him off since Tito would hit the canvas in almost every fight. Instead of looking closer at how the fihgter was able to win despite having trouble.
Agreed. Katsidis' face is like onion skin. He ended up getting 3 major cuts. 2 from a fighter that is not well known as a hard puncher, and a mild headbutt. But it didn't bother him. What a heart.Quote:

I'm one for believing in karma - i'm holding out for when the universe decides to take revenge on Katsidis for the lowlife things he has done outside of the ring.
I couldn't care less if he was the best fighter in the world, he does not deserve anyones respect. It takes more to be a man than to win a few fights, you have to prove it by the way you treat people outside of your sport. Katsidis has shown time and time again what kind of 'man' he is, bullying and beating those weaker than him outside of the ring. He's a pathetic excuse for a human being.
Unless he changes the behaviour outside of the ring, and takes a good long hard look at himself, he will never earn my respect, and shouldn't have any of yours. Too many people jump on his bandwagon without caring what he does outside of boxing.
I think a rematch would be appropriate.

Still waiting......
Here let me help you...
Your gonna tell us he socked some dude who attacked him broke his jaw did a couple of months in jail cause he didn't plead guilty.
Kats states he was defending himself.
What's so bad about defending yourself? Or Am I missing something?
Often the harder shots won't cut someone as easily as the speedier punches.
Katsidis was humiliated? Please. Amonsot couldn't finish what he started because Katsidis has exactly what it takes to dominate that division. An iron constitution and Herculean power.
I will say right now that Juan Diaz will get KTFO if they fight.
Don't be so naive. That is public record, and that is the absolute LEAST of the reprehensible behaviour that he has engaged in. I have no issues with that incident, I believe in that case that Mick was somewhat justified. It went too far and Mick did his time. If you know so much, then you should know about the other incidents Mick has started and been involved in. Incidents that show his horrible, bullying side.
I'm not going to list them, as i have nothing to gain - i am just stating that a sportsman deserves respect for what they do in AND out of the ring. Mick deserves no respect in that case.
It's boxing, not the miss america pageant.Quote:

Could you please enlighten us on what Kats has done? I'm just intrigued because it ca't be worse than woman beating etc which alot boxers have done. What they do in their private lives is their business,I'm not saying it's not wrong but we aren't here to judge them.
BoxingGorilla, you really think he beats Juan Diaz? I don't think so dude.
Actually, i AM here to judge them. I'll repeat - in my opinion it takes more than what you do inside the ring to gain my respect. For others it may be different - like the boys above, they obviously don't care what a boxer does outside the ring. For me, it matters. I'm not saying everyone else can't have their own opinion, but in mine - it shows what kind of person you are if you are willing to ignore the bad stuff.
Katsidis and his camp have done very well to make sure that the general population aren't aware of the sort of stuff he gets up to on his own time, but there are those of us (and there are MANY) who know what kind of person he is, and refuse to jump on the back of his success just because he is winning, that's all.
A perfect example of a boxing matchup done the right way. What a fight.
I'm sure Katsidis really cares if you respect him or not! When you start judging a boxer on the stuff that happens outside the ring you get what happened to Ali! Heres some simple advise to help you out... if you don't like Katsidis don't watch him.Quote:

You have no idea how frustrating it is to see and hear people talk about him like he is some sort of ''Warrior, The Great, Rocky'' hero and know the truth. This is my expression of frustration, which i am entitled to. You, and people like you can carry on pretending its okay to 'respect' someone and that letting them get away with anything is okay because they box. I couldn't live with that, but if you can - good for you.

Lightweight boxer Czar Amonsot suffered a bleed on his brain Saturday following his 12-round loss to Michael Katsidis for the WBO interim lightweight title.
IT'S A TRAGEDY - AMONSOT CAREER LOOKS OVER JUST AS IT SEEMED TO BE TAKING OFF.
:coolclick: for the scoop but ah man what a tragic story. Is he ok? I mean he's not in a critical condition or anything just been told he can't fight any more?
Tragic news, you'd have fought from looking at them Katsidis would be the one to suffer an injury like that.
Hope he recovers well and goes on to succeed outside of boxing.

World lightweight champ Michael ``Rocky'' Katsidis has spoken of the hell he endured when imprisoned on an assault charge.
Katsidis did time for breaking a guy's jaw. Apparently he found the guy urinating on his car and popped him and refused to plead guilty to assault.
He certainly is a fighter withy a huge heart. But he's not going to beat Juan Diaz on that effort.
Ouch!!! :(
That is harsh news. As Bilbo said compared to Katsidis he looked in tip top shape. He did take some hellacious punches though. :-\
Katsidis bleeding on the outside, Amonsot on the inside :(
Very sad news, both me and my friends thought that he could have developed into a good prospect - he was only 21, took a helluva shot and had some nice handspeed...
This is terrible, but at least we are not reading obituaries and hopefully Amonsot can have a long and successful career in another field.
Thats harsh....I hate to see any fighter....Be it up and coming prospect...A Champions...A fighter with a 5-25 record or anything in between suffer a serious injury from being in the ring.....
I love this sport....In all actality Boxing has less injuries then almost any other sport out there when you compare amount of perticipants...but truth is it is dangerous.....
It takes heart to just step into the ring let alone be successful.......
Lets just all hope this works out for the best...Maybe his boxing career is over but there are worse things in life....I wish a speedy recovery for him
This is awful. He really fought well and had some good skills. Hes a young guy and had a promising looking career too. Hope he is ok.
Rough news
Kid put on a hell of a show last night, hopefully he can continue
