Was he?.
i think it was foreman..imo he knocked out guys with granite chins..tyson only ko'ed bums
No
No
Foreman
Lewis (yeah Lennox hit harder he was like 30 pounds heavier and he could use it)
Shavers
I'd throw Wladimir in there but I wouldn't want to get everyone all riled up...Wlad has 44 KO's and Tyson has 44 KO's....only Wlad is still fighting....there is a POSSIBILITY that Wladimir hits harder but Tyson used his power in combinations better than most. And of course everyone will question the opponents of both guys and no on wants to open that can of worms.
Vitali as well.....but I'll bite my tongue on that one
P4P in the heavyweight division Tyson is right behind Marciano (185), Dempsey (190), Shavers (205) and Foreman (220).
And he's the best combination puncher in the division's history
Wrong.......Ernie Shavers. Ali said that in a interview in 1985 that Ernie Shavers hit harder than anyone has ever hit him.
I was going to say Shavers too. I think Tyson put a lot of hard hitting combos together accuratly in his day but he wasnt so much a one punch power guy , at least not like Shavers.Quote:

Tyson used great technique better than Shavers and Foreman had faster hands but for overall power i gotta say Shavers Foreman was bit too wild with his punches bit like Ruddock.
....Foreman seemed to connect good enough 76 wins 68 KO's
As I said, Tyson was probably the best power puncher in regards to combinations...his hands were so fast his punches just overwhelmed his opponents.
What is it with this guy posting the same threads over and over again ::** What the Fuk ??? Am I the only one who picks up on this ???
Im not saying he didn't have power what im saying is Lyle is that Foremans punch technique wasn't that great imagine if he would have had better punch technique ?? thats scary thought.Quote:

I'd have to go with Shavers. Tyson had technique and hand speed to get his punches home. Shavers only had punches. Which explains why Tyson had a more successful career.
If we are just talkin functional/in fight puncing POWER. Not speed, accuaracy, etc... I would say Shavers. Foreman had alot of people talk about his brute stregnth. But the Acorn was the only guy thst I can think of that all the guys that he fought made it a point to let anyone that would listen that he hit harder than anybody that they have ever been hit by.
Holmes was actually asked to compare Tyson & Sahvers punching power (since he had fought them both). He said something like "Tyson's punch is a corvette. Shavers punch is a mac truck." All of these guys opinion & statements are enough for me to buy it.
I'd say Lewis and Foreman both punched harder. I'd also make a case for Wlad. He seems to have bricks in his gloves.
actually t rex sanders said tyson punches like he has bricks in his gloves . sanders said tyson was a much harder puncher than wlad.Quote:

I wouldn't say Michael Spinks is a bum.Quote:

The Las Vegas shows Tyson was doing a while ago were with Sanders. The exhibition matches and sparring sessions open to the public, remember???Quote:

good post Lyle Cool click . I agree with your assessment. Tyson at his best, utilized his leverage, he knew how to use his feet and legs to generate devastating power. there was a period in time where he would have been hell for anyone in history to deal with.Quote:

i would say foreman. i remember when foreman fought joe frazier and frazier has this bobbing head movement so foreman just punched him on the top of the head and down goes frazier
Earnie Shavers hands down and then maybe Chris Byrd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygN07...elated&search=
I think it was Shavers. He knocked people out and no TKO's
no your thinking of the white guy . There is a big black guy also called corey sanders and he is 6'6 and 300 pounds . He sparred with both tyson and wlad and he says that tyson punchers harder than wlad or any other fighter.Quote:
