Cotto-Mosley:November 10th???!MSG?!?!
http://maxboxing.com/Kim/Kim072507.asp
Half way down the page. That's the date being discussed. I'm going for a brutal Cotto win. :D
"So how are talks moving along for Miguel Cotto-Shane Mosley?
"Everything is progressing nicely," said Bob Arum to Max boxing on Tuesday afternoon. The date being thrown around is November 10th, quite possibly at Madison Square Garden in the Big Apple. "That's a very good possibility," confirmed Arum."

Re: Cotto-Mosley:Novermber 10th???!MSG?!?!
Is this news or speculation, Mr Gamo?
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley:Novermber 10th???!MSG?!?!
It's more news Miles sir,it came from Arum's mouth.
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley:Novermber 10th???!MSG?!?!
shane would school cotto enroute to a wide ud, unless cotto starts getting away with his signature low blow assault that should have resulted in a dq against zab
gotta link??

Re: Cotto-Mosley:November 10th???!MSG?!?!
Until it's signed I wouldn't get your hopes up

Read my first post properly, the link is in front of eyes, click it,scroll down to the middle of the page.
I'd like to add you're post is one of the biggest piles of shit I've read in a while. Go and watch the Judah fight again and watch how much Judah over reacts first and second low blows are part and parcel of the game and finally,it would take at least THREE low blows to end in a DQ.No ref in his right mind would stop after 2,especially not in a big fight.

Arum knows Cotto wants a big fight and Cotto is his main man,I think he'll do whatever it takes to make the fight. On the other side,Shane knows his time is running out and he needs to make Floyd want to fight him,so he should fight Cotto.

Why do people keep saying this??? Two low blows is never enough for a DQ, never, I don't care how blatant it is. And before that fight, Cotto had no history of low blows, I know he had a history of hitting people in the back which is another story.

CC back.I'll take you up on SIG bet for this fight for sure. I think Miguel beats Shane for sure. His jab, bodywork and power will be too much.

Even the back blows aren't intentional. Quintana in particualr turned his back,it's hos own fault ;D

i guess my computer is messed up cause im not getting a link
anyways.............. on to cotto's amaturish tactics
he was on the verge of getting ko'ed very early (and being exposed as the one dimensional amature that he is) in the judah fight on a couple different occasions, so miguel had to throw pride to the wind and let loose a couple savage low blows (making all of puerto rico ashamed of his actions in the process) in order to get back in the fight.
we all saw it ;)
if it took two vicious low blows to keep cotto from getting knocked out by judah, i bet its gonna take at least 5 against mosely in order for cotto to make it past the 5th round
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley:November 10th???!MSG?!?!
good fight, if cotto wins its an automatic cotto-mayweather fight, if mosely wins which im leaning towards, its an automatic mosely - mayweather fight, i guess u can say winner fights mayweather

Cotto-Mosley Confirmed Nov 10th MSG

Re: Cotto-Mosley Confirmed Nov 10th MSG
i guess floyd will be forced to fight the winner..pending he gets past ricky...
this is going to be a war....this is my fight of the year..........mosley by late stoppage
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley Confirmed Nov 10th MSG
wow.... October/November is looking to be amazing. I think 2007 may be the greatest year ever in terms of matchups in boxing, when all's said and done.

I cant see Mosley stopping Cotto, he hasnt really stopped anyone of note recently other than a shot Vargas.

I see what your saying but I also can't see Cotto knowing he's losing the fight and just fighting to survive the 12 rounds without taking chances to land and putting himself in harms way, like Collazo did... I think it really just depends how it pans out early... It's almost a pick em for me, I favour Mosley a bit.. but if it goes to a decision I see it as a Cotto win because Mosley is tough as nails and can take a lot of punishment.. Cotto on the otherhand can be hurt, and he isn't exactly a crafty fighter who's going to look to outbox Shane, he'll be trying to pressure him and land hard punches. If he's successful he'll probably win but I still couldn't see Mosley not lasting the distance. On the other hand if Mosley lands the better punches and gets the better of the exchanges, I don't think Cotto will survive because he'll keep trying to press harder. Just the way I see it. One things for sure, the loser of this fight will have taken a beating, if not the winner as well.

Re: Cotto-Mosley Confirmed Nov 10th MSG
Great stuff.
It'll be good to see Mosley back in the ring & against such a top opponent!
Can't wait for this one!!!!
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley Confirmed Nov 10th MSG
I think this fight could show if cotto is the man who could take out mayweather. If he can handle Mosely's spped and come out with a win, he could give PBF a hell of a fight.

Re: Cotto-Mosley Confirmed Nov 10th MSG
Mayweather v Hatton was coined on this date too in Vegas, maybe there could be a double header PPV? That would be some night of boxing!

Never.
Cotto-Mosley would be a Golden Boy/Top Rank production, and neither Floyd nor Hatton have anything to do with those companies.
One of these fights will be in November and the other will be December.

I'm not sure, Hatton is a promotional free agent, and Mayweather kinda is as well because he's self represented. I wouldn't rule it out 100%. Would 2 dates a month apart bring in more money than the promotional clout of 4 HUGE names on 1 card? Surely it would at least match PBF v ODLH on PPV buys. Plus they could probably jack up the price to $60.
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley Confirmed Nov 10th MSG
At 147 this should be a smoker.....IMO Cotto with be his usual aggressive self and win the first 3-4 rounds while Shane feels him out...Once Mosley figures out Cottos timing and rythm he puts on a clinic....It is not just speed that I consider in this..I also consider skill and over all boxing ability......
Make no mistake in no way is this an easy fight for Mosley I just think he will know enough about Cotto by time he steps in the ring to us his quality of opp experience and certain physical advantages to gain the edge.....
Remember the lighter Mosley is the better he is

Re: Cotto-Mosley Confirmed Nov 10th MSG
I'm torn on who to pick here. Cotto is my favorite fighter currently, but Mosley is fast, powerful and has a granite chin. My heart is with Cotto, but my brain is saying Mosley. This is a tough fight :o

Definitely, credit to both guys for stepping up. I wanna go with Mosley but Cotto's got that will to win.
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley:November 10th???!MSG?!?!
Mosley isn't as fast as you guys all make him out to be anymore, and he certainly doesn't have the greatest defense. I don't how you guys can think Mosley wins automatically against Cotto when you don't think PBF does. Anyways this seems a stupid date because if Hatton-PBF happens it will be on nov.10 from what I've heard also Cotto was suppose to fight the winner of Williams-Margarito unless he's angry they decided not to fight him so they could settle the score.

Seems pretty quick to me mate, the only way to find out how quick he is, is to box him, and I certainly haven't done that ;)

Sour grapes. Cotto Amateurish? He beat Zab plain and simple. What does that make Zab?

Cotto landed two low blows. He was warned on the first one and deducted a point on the second.
Your argument would hold some weight if you could find a past fight where a fighter has been dq'd on his second low blow instead of being penalized a point.
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley:November 10th???!MSG?!?!
Now is a Signature Low blow? lol hahahaha ;D
They are getting better. I thing the winner of Cotto-Mosley would beat Mayweather
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley:November 10th???!MSG?!?!
This is a great match. I can't wait for it. Cotto is awesome, but you gotta favor Mosley even at 35, he's nearly impossible to hurt, still has great speed and boxing skills and is just a bitch to beat.

CC, Hulkster
I feel the same way. Mosley has all the ring smarts and still has that handspeed.
Cotto might have a reputation for being powerful but Mosley has been up as high as 154 pounds and, as you say, Mosley is seldom rocked.
If Cotto beats Mosley I will be seriously impressed.
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley:November 10th???!MSG?!?!
Sounds like a plan to me. 8)
Should be a very interesting match up?
Can Cotto do what Forrest did and that's use effective aggression and bully SSM around effectively?
Or
Will SSM outbox Cotto a la Vargas?
*Please Note: In NO way shape or form Am I comparing the actual fighters here, I'm merely bring up the fashion in which SMM has lost and won the fights
Thanks for the heads up El Gamo 8)
-
Re: Cotto-Mosley:November 10th???!MSG?!?!
I think SSM has enough in him to take this, he should be able to use his skills to outbox, vslow down and frustrate Cotto - i'm sure Cotto will have his moments and bruise shane up, but i don't think he can put him away or outbox him...
will be awsome fight tho!!

I still favour Cotto. He hits way too hard to the body for Shane, and his jab will give Shane lots of problems. Cotto has shown he can deal with speed v Malignaggi and Judah. Also,I don't think Shane fights well backing up,nor do I think he can handle pressure well as seen v Forrest and Winky.

Same date as Hatton-Mayweather is being mooted for. Can you imagine how big a weekend that would be?
Also, the link has an AUTO MESSAGE plastered over it as you're not allowed to link to whatever site it is. Can you just tell me the site Gamo, and I'll find it :D
