Chad Dawson-Antonio Tarver set for same night as Taylor-Pavlik

I don't know how were doing links today but theres a story on a website called boxingconfidential

says that Dawson will fight Tarver and it will be on Showtime while Taylor/Pavlik is on HBO. Sept. 29.

I like Dawson, definitely don't want him to lose to Tarver.

I like Dawson as well but point is there is no way that the majority are missing Taylor Vs Pavlik to watch Tarver and Dawson.....


It will be one of those tape one channel and watch the other nights :-\

I think under Mayweather's tutelage that Dawson has learned a lot and his youth and hunger will be more than enough to carry him through against the elder Tarver. Tarver doesn't have Adamek's punch, though he does have good speed and both fighters have stamina issues. I say Dawson can KO him. In 9.

I'll definitely watch the Taylor-Pavlik fight first but I'll catch this one later on that night.

I don't really mind it that much, it would be a bit annoying if there were no fights on the weekend before or after the 29th though.

Tarver's looked crappy the last two times out, didn't even look good against Muriqi. I think Dawson wins too.

Wow what a great weekend that will be! Personally the duplicate cards don't bother me as I only download them anyway but from a finacial point of view it's a bit baffling.

Showtime advertise as being on the first Saturday of every month so obviously it's
HBO know well in advance when that the dates conflict.

Ah well.

Good matchups though, I'm probably the only guy on Saddo's who will be rooting for Tarver, just like I will for Mora against Ouma. I guess I just like the bad guys. :P

other than hopkins i have not intrest in the lightheavy weight division. i'll be watching taylor pavlik. at some point i'll get around to seeing the dawson fight so i can't take part in the discussions on the forum.

Thank god for DVR.

Showtime is having a free preview that weekend. That's why they're putting the fight on, even though it has to go up against the HBO fight.

2 good fights, i raher watch taylor pavlik but im intrested in tarver dawson 2

Hope Dawson sparks Tarver.

Tarver thinks he's better than he is! I think he loses big time to Dawson. Chad is younger, hungrier & with Mayweather in his corner I think he's gonna just be better come fight night!

those are dangerous predictions, i personally dont see how pavlik can win, taylor like when u come at him and let him hit u so taylor wins ko sumwhere after round 3, and tarver can use his experince to win his fight, im no sayin his going to , but he can

I really like Dawson, he's a nice fighter, a guy i always associate with Paul Williams for some strange reason!? Really hope that he not only wins this one but shines in doing so, i think he did well in the Adamek fight, not only dominating early, but also surviving a knockout late when he was tired and working through. Think he can cope with Tarver to be honest, Tarver's southpaw awkwardness has been his crutch in most fight's, he won't have it here.

In addition i believe the pavlik fight will be Jermaine's emergence as a force (I hope...) Pavlik gonna gun for him, try to take him out and he won't tire of hitting Jermaine. This should trigger Jermaines dormant aggression and i feel Taylor has the power, ability and pedigree to stop Pavlik.

I had a chance to talk to the kid during JLC-Corrales I, smart kid well spoken and has talent.
Will Tarvers experience be too much for him or will he step up into World Class with a big bang?
Can't wait....

I think he just can't let Tarver get in his head before the fight. Other than that I don't think too highly of Tarver these days. As long as Dawson just stays smart his talent should be enough.
