I think it sounds like a great fight on paper but will Hatton's holding work on Floyd? I think Floyd has some bad habits like drifting to the ropes sometime and waiting for the opponent to make the first move,this could play into Hatton's hands. If the ref allows Hatton to fight ugly, he could give Floyd some problems and possibly pull off the upset. If the ref won't tolerate some rough-housing, it could be a shut out.
I would love for Hatton to punish Floyd and pull the upset...but it ain't happening. Too much skill, speed, and stamina. And to be honest...i think Floyd will have the big strength advantage too. Hatton's frame was already a bit on the smallish side at 140 and Floyd seems to have settled in at around the 147-150 weight comfortably now. I think the trash talking will bring out a mean streak in Floyd and he will really try and punish Ricky. But i hope i am pleasantly surprised and it will be competitive.
i totally agree this fight wont do anything for Floyds legacy as Hatton isnt a big enough name, mosely also wont add that much to floyds legacy as mosley is getting on a bit, i think mayweather should fight cotto he is a real challenge for floyd as he can cut the ring off effectively and i a respected fighter

i think Cotto and Hatton have similar styles...aggressive fighters who like to punch to the body. But i feel Cotto has looked more comfortable at 147 and brings a bit more all around skill to potentially give Floyd problems. I prefer Mosley vs. Mayweather as well...even though Shane isn't at his peak...he is still the fastest and most athletic fighter Floyd would have ever faced. Hopefully that fight will be made in the not to distant future.
This might be the greatest Fall Season ever for Boxing. Hell maybe even the greatest year. I can't believe all the great fights we have coming up.

i thnk if this fight is to hapen at 147 then i think its mayweather by UD anyday, as hatton is not that comfortable at that weight. If it was 2 hapen at 140 then we'll see the best of both fighters because hatton is better at that weight n most of mayweather's fights at that weight hav been him not running as much.so it shud be a great fight any how.cnt wait.  ;D
I think Hatton will train as if it were a fight at 140, Mayweather never fights at weltrerweight weight, he always on fight night is like between 148-150, Hatton actully weighs more than Mayweather when he fights at 140 and Mayweather fights at 147 on fight nite.Quote:

I don't think the weight will matter much, the fight will obviously be at 147. Thing is Mayweather is the better fighter. Hatton will surely bring his best game & will have his moments but I can't see him being able to deal with Floyds speed or ability! Just my opinion.
