What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Man where do I start off on this, I haft to say these match up’s will not impress me. I love boxing but woo, there are way better matches they can come up with. I see why Mayweather Jr. vs. Hatton is being made up. The little jabs Hatton throws in Mayweather’s face. Look I would draw up the reasons why they should not fight but as I was writing a friend of mine on You tube, I had to send it in parts since I wrote to much to even send it in one Pm to my friend. Look but here take a look at this
WHY THESE FIGHTS SHOLD NOT BE MADE
Hatton-Mayweather- Okay we know who is going to win this fight right? Especially at 147 right? Now I know people will disagree with me and say Hatton has a great chance. Sorry no that’s incorrect. I know he has a nation on his back as his fan base is just huge, but that wont help and it was proved by Mayweather when he fought Oscar De La Hoya. De La Hoya had a better chance then Hatton, they fought at 154, a big weight class for the smaller Mayweather, still won and took the victory home. I wish De La Hoya would of knocked the turd out of Mayweather but that was not the result. Mayweather went up and beat a bigger guy, now Mayweather naturally is around 140 or even lower. Now he is going to fight a guy who is really naturally smaller then 140. Hatton looks like a great man and I take nothing away from him but what can he do that can actually beat May weathers Defense and speed? I don’t know maybe if he does the clinching thing that he did against Castillo but I am sure they will warn Hatton for clinching this time aggressively. Mayweather wins easily
Mosley vs. Cotto- To me Cotto is not the real deal to me, I mean he has some great wins but he has fought fighters that are in the B & C level. When Cotto fought Zab Judah the first rounds, I had Judah winning. I was rooting for Cotto for the fact Judah was talking real big thrash before the fight, but what I saw was Judah was going to knock him out I say around the 6 or 7th round. Though the low blows helped a injured Cotto, then the elbow which ultimately lead Judah to his destruction. Now the way the fight was going before the low blows & Elbow. Judah looked like he was about to show this match was just money in the bank. Not taking away from Cotto cuss anything can happened in the squared circle. Cotto did not impress me against Judah, I feel a rematch should be done immediately.
THE FIGHTS THAT SHOULD BE MADE
Mosley vs. Mayweather- Mayweather is one of the few people who can actually beat Mayweather in my mind. Yes him and Winky Wright but Winky is in a whole different picture now. Mosley has been basically calling Mayweather a coward before he fought De La Hoya, with whatever results Mosley wanted Mayweather. Sadly we saw Mayweather beat De La Hoya. Now Mayweather wanted to go to retirement. Sadly he is supposedly coming out of retirement but still against Hatton? Hatton has taken a few jabs at Mayweather but what has Mosley done? He’s even went far as saying Mayweather is growing feathers now.
De La Hoya vs. Hatton- Nation against Nation, two giant fan bases against one another. It would be a great payday for Hatton, A great win for De La Hoya. I see De La Hoya winning but either way Hatton has a way better chance to beat De La Hoya then Mayweather.
Where does this leave Cotto?
Cotto vs. Paul Williams- Paul Williams impressed me more with the victory over Antonio Margarito then Cotto did over Judah. I see Paul Williams winning this fight.
There you have it what you guys think? I’m so sorry if you can not understand anything I just typed. I typed it up real fast. I don’t mean to sound like a hater or anything it’s just I don’t want to see those match up’s being made.

This part was really fucking stupid. I didn't read the rest of the post, maybe it was not quite as ridiculous.

Hey sorry if it was stupid, just giving my opinion. Thank you for reading my crap though.

No problem and you are welcome. The first half of the post was horrible but everybody deserves a pat on the back for trying.
Edit-actually the second half wasn't quite as bad. :thumb: But Williams doesn't beat Cotto.

Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Just curious but how do you feel about this?

Actually I don't disagree as much with you about the rest of the post, its just the idea that Cotto low-blowed his way to a win is pure stupidity.
I don't agree totally but yes I do think Mayweather might have a harder time with Mosley than Hatton. Mosley/Cotto is 50/50, you underrate Cotto IMO.
That and it just seems ungrateful to spend a lot of time complaining about getting two fights like PBF/Hatton and Mosley/Cotto
-
Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Their actually great fights but I mean being honest do you think Cotto can overcome Mosley? Or Hatton over Mayweather? And what about if they will be interesting fights?

Cotto can beat Mosley. More so than Hatton/PBF but that's not the mismatch that people make it out to be.
Cotto/Mosley should be a great fight, very interesting. Hatton/PBF its harder to say but it could be good.
-
Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Hmmm you would rather see Mosley vs. Cotto over Cotto vs. Williams or Mosley vs. Mayweather? Hmm I think Williams vs. Cotto would actually be a great match. Really great actually.

Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
great post, and you were dead on about cotto vs. judah and cotto vs. williams

i like mayweather vs. hatton and cotto vs. mosley. after those fights take, the winner of cotto/mosley fights paul williams. the winner of that match fights floyd for welterweight supremacy
my guess is.............
mayweather vs. williams in late 2008
i dont know where oscar fits into all of this...
i guess if he stays at 154 he should fight the forrest vs. baldomir winner, if he goes down to 147 he could still fight any of the guys that lose on one of those previous events i mentioned and it would still be a huge fight
probably..............
delahoya vs. cotto (after cotto gets dominated by mosely)
delahoya wins this one easily
-
Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Yes Oscar said he is moving back down to 147. A match against Cotto would seem nice but DLH comes out winning, but actually Cotto is a winner of money lol so one really loses. Who knows though? I actually think if Mosley went against Paul Williams, Mosley in my eyes would win.

I like these match ups actually, I think Mayweather will beat Hatton, both are undefeated and it's still nation v nation. It's got a lot to do with money too, all of Britain will stop to see this fight.
People over there that are not even interested in Boxing will take a look at this one.
Mayweather can then fight the winner of Cotto V Mosley, seems fair enough to me.

I'm giving you a SC for this
Cotto vs Mosely could and probably will be the fight of the year. Mosely is a hell of a fighter and Cotto has done nothing to disappoint. What don't you like about Cotto?
As far as PBF and Hatton, this is a fight that tons of boxing fans accross the world want to see. You want to see Oscar vs Hatton? Oscar lost to Floyd.
I for one am really against rewarding fighters by giving them a fight over a guy they lost to. Doesn't make on ounce of sense to me. A lot of people think that way, if everything falls into place they'd like to see Calzaghe fight Hopkins instead of Taylor. We have to reward a fighter for winning a fight!

Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Typical internet, boxing finally seems to be getting it together and matching real stars of fairly equal ability levels against each other, after years of giving the fans shit, and people still find reasons to moan about it.

Well that’s true, A winner should fight a winner, But that’s why I matched these all up. Ricky Hatton is on top of the world right now with that KO over Castillo in the 4th, but so is Mayweather. Look nothing against Hatton( Or cotto for that matter) But Do you honestly think Hatton can stand against May weather’s speed or defense? Fans will want to see this but what fans? All of Ricky Hatton’s nation that is on the back, and fans who are really into a fight like this which they aren’t many around where I live and what I’ve seen on other sites. That’s why I said Hatton vs. De La Hoya would be better cuss both of those guys have big ol huge fan bases to support them. Even if De La Hoya lost, that does not away the great boxer in De La Hoya. De La Hoya will actually come out there and do to please the fans, Hatton also has. So it’s a straight toe to toe bout with sweet science.
I have nothing against Cotto, IF you read carefully I typed that twice actually. It’s just Cotto did not impress me with Judah. That’s true; I know he did great against Carlos Quintana. The body shot he gave him which made Carlos looked like he was stabbed was great but I mean Miguel Angel Cotto cant stand against Mosley. Mosley speed might blind Cotto. IF they go toe to toe then Mosley also has power even at this age. Also boxing fans can say they want this match but who do they think is going to win? Now Cotto probley impressed all of you and that’s why you want him to fight Mosley. That’s great actually cuss this is just an opinion of mine. I aint the authority to be saying what goes down and what doesesnt. It’s just Cotto vs. Williams to be has the potential to be a better fight then Cotto vs. Mosley.
And this is why I wrote all this, Cuss I easily see Mosley over Cotto, I easily see Mayweather over Hatton. That’s why I was telling yall my opinion on what I would like to see which I consider better fights general.
Cotto vs. Williams
Mosley vs. Mayweather
Hatton vs. De La Hoya

Really I aint moaning about anything Sir, It’s just I think the match up’s that are being made could be easily seen by the eyes who is going to win. Mosley vs. Cotto actually might be real entertaining but will it be better then seeing Mosley vs. Mayweather? Will Hatton vs. Mayweather be better then Hatton vs. De La Hoya? Cotto vs. Williams?
Also this is just an opinion of mind, I aint bitching or moaning it’s just I rather go with these matches being made. I don’t disagree with the matches much cuss they have big o fan bases that support them. Cotto & Hatton for example.
-
Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
The bottom line is the winner of Mayweather-Hatton will meet the winner of Mosley-Cotto, so it all works out in the end.
-
Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
I can respect your opinion even though i don't agree with all of those. I like both of these match-ups and i'm glad they've been made. I think both matches will prove a lot for all 4 fighters involved. Can Hatton step up and walk the walk against the P4P best? Can Mayweather handle Hatton's 'Nightmare' style and stay on top of the world? Can Cotto get by an experienced, fast elite in the form of Mosely? Does Mosely still have enough to get by a young, hungry Cotto to set up his dream fight against Mayweather?
One area I do agree with you, and i'm in the minority that do, are the Miguel Cotto low blows..I just can't help but feel they stopped Zab's momentum in that fight and really slowed him down. Nobody can tell me otherwise unless they felt what Judah felt at that moment..TWICE! They looked like solid shots.

Cotto vs. Williams
Mosley vs. Mayweather
Hatton vs. De La Hoya
I actually do think a lot of people are going to want to see Hatton-Mayweather, I think Floyd wins. But it's going to be a madhouse in Vegas. There will be a decent amount of people rooting for Floyd. And Hatton's fans travel, as was evident at the Castillo fight (guys, please leave the band at home this time. Or learn some different songs) I also think you're going to see some very big PPV numbers for this fight. Now onto Cotto-Mosely, I think Cotto gets the win here. And even if Mosely does win, it's not going to be easy. Cotto is a force and I think he'll prove that. Now what we'll hopefully get is the winner of these two fights going at it!
As for the other 2 champions, Cintron and Williamns. That would be a pretty nice matchup.

I read your whole comment, not hard to follow and agree with it for the most part. Williams vs Cotto would be a landslide for Williams and ditto goes for Mosley or DLH. Cotto is one punch away from being put to sleep and all of the afore mentioned fighters would do it.
Mosely/Mayweather makes more sense or Margarito/Mayweather. I'd also like to see Cintron/Williams
DLH is one of my all time favorite but I do feel it's time for him to retire.

Williams does not have one-punch KO power.
Mosley doesn't really have it either. He has one true KO in the last 6+ years, and that was against the corpse of Fernando Vargas. It's one thing to think Williams and/or Mosley would beat Cotto, but to think they'd KO him on one punch is stretching it.

Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Oh hey that's all great opinions, no doubt Hatton vs. Mayweather will be big, I just personally think it would be a bigger at the matches I listed below, but hey sorry if I came off as I was bitching or something lol. I just think the matches I listed would be a bigger draw but hey we will see how it will all play out

So some of you are telling me that Mayweather had a easy time with Judah? :o ::**
ANyways I like this matchups but I would have it Mosley-PBF and HAtton -Cotto
This match ups are being the talg for the las 3 years

Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
I think floyd will win and mosley will win.
that should set up:
mosley vs floyd
cotto vs hatton
results will be:
mosley knocks out floyd
cotto u.d hatton
than that will set up:
cotto vs williams
results will be:
williams wins a close u.d
that sets up:
williams mosley
cotto margarito
results will be:
mosley beats williams via u.d
margarito beats cotto
that sets up:
margarito williams 2
margarito wins u.d
than mosley margarito for the finale.

I would CC also if i could.
If Floyd and Shane win, and there is still no matchup between them, then people can bitch. Even if Floyd beat him tomorrow everyone would say Shane was past his prime so it doesn't matter if they fight today or sometime next year, no one will give Floyd credit. It could be PBF vs anyone and we'd have the same threads about how Floyd will have no problem winning, and the other side of people who don't like PBF saying he has no chance. We should be happy that big names are finally fighting big names.. you could always speculate and come up with a boxer who will beat the guy that you don't like.

Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Mayweather whoops Hatton easily. Mosley beats Cotto in 12 rounds. Low blows definately had an effects on the Judah fight. Williams won't have another meaningful opponent for awhile unless De la Hoya decides to fight him to prove a point. My 2 cents.
-
Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Also. Wiliams could fight Cintron but they both seem more interested in Shane Mosley.

Why should De la Hoya vs Hatton happen in last 4 years Oscar has losing record Oscar doesn't deserve to fight Hatton these are great match ups and i can't believe you think there not.

Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
No way that Mosely beats Cotto. I love Mosely and he is one of my favourite fighters but I honestly don't see anyone, including Mayweather defeating Cotto. Cotto is a fighting machine. I give Mosely mad props for taking this fight but see it as ultimately his retirement party.
Mayweather will probably beat Hatton but hey, we can always have wishful thinking.
Personally I don't want to see ODLH fight again. With his inactivity, hobbies (GBP), and age; I don't think he is that relevant of a fighter anymore. He should stick to getting matchups made.

Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Mayweather v Hatton in my eyes is just tying up loose ends. If PBF wins then he has finally proven himself to be the best at 140.
147 is a different animal.
When Mayweather beat Baldomir he won the lineal championship and by popular consensus is considered the number 1 Welterweight at present but... I believe Mosley, Cotto, Williams and Mayweather are all argueably tied for the top spot.
When Baldomir beat Judah it was agreed by most that Margarito was the number 1 Welterweight and a tougher challenge than Baldomir. Now that Williams has beaten Margarito and is still undefeated, as a belt holder his claim to the spot has some substance.
Cotto's 1st fight at Welterweight was an undefeated champion and in his 2nd title defense TKO'd Judah, something Mayweather didn't accomplish. As an undefeated belt holder his claim to the spot has some substance.
Only Forrest (who is campaigning as a Light Middleweight) has ever beaten Mosley at Welterweight or lower, before that he was undefeated and had more success against ODH than Mayweather so consequently his claim to the spot has some substance.
In my eyes the top 6 Welterweights in no particular order are:
Mayweather
Hatton
Cotto
Mosley
Williams
Margarito
With Williams beating Margarito, Mayweather v Hatton and Cotto v Mosley lined up we could safely say that in 2008 we will find out who the best Welterweight is.
If Cotto some how gets past Mosley then Oscar will jump all over a Cotto fight, it will slightly vindicate his losses to Mosley and be a massive PPV draw so that could slow down our little tourney a bit, still who would’t want to see Oscar meet any of the above names? Except Mayweather that is a fight I never want to see again. ;D

I actually think Hatton could lose to every single one of the top Welterweights there all wrong him Margarito too big Cotto hits too hard and throws devasting body shots Mayweather too fast Mosley too fast Williams too big.

Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
First off... I dont see why anyone talks so much trash about Cotto. He is a pitbull. Saying an elbow destroyed Zab? Cmon. Thats just rediculous. Zab always craps out halfway thru the fight. Shit happens in the ring, get over it. Saying DLH is too old? Hes 34. He is still a top contender. The fight with Gayweather was just plain stupid. It was obviously for money and nothing else. The whole fight was stupid unless you like seeing someone run for 12 rounds straight.
Anyways, to the upcoming fights... Mosley has only had trouble with people that always come forward. Hence Forest and Winky. Other than that.. he dominated. DLH fights were close. Cotto always goes forward no matter what and every body shot is a potential killer. I see Cotto coming out on top. The fight will definitly be action packed. Mosely has a shot for sure tho. I think Cotto/Williams would be nice to watch but I just dont see Williams being able to stop the body shots. Cotto/ Margarito could be a good one.
Gayweather/Hatton... What to say about this one... Gayweather is going to run like a punk ass bitch for the whole fight just like he always does. I see Gayweather winning that way tho. I really hope to see Hatton knock the shit out of him tho.
I honestly dont think we will ever see Gayweather fight Mosley or Cotto. Or anyone else that has a real shot to be honest. He is afraid of losing. His time is coming and he knows it.

Mosley has trouble with fighters coming forward?! And you use Winky and Forrest as examples?! Shane had trouble with fighters who are rangy...like Forrest and Wright. Cotto is a pressure fighter but he is not a fighter who likes to use his range...and he is not as technically skilled as either Forrest or Winky. Cotto is going to try and make it a rough fight, a war....and he will fighting someone who is faster, more skilled, and yes...even stronger than him. Add to that...Cotto is chinny...and it equals a bad night for him. I am not going to discount Cotto....he is young and hungry...but he is in over his head in this fight.
-
Re: What?!? Hatton vs. May weather? Cotto vs. Mosley?
Haha, Ive seen almost all Gayweathers fights. Hes afraid to get hit. You say it all underneath your name. You are obviously a fan. No point in talking facts with you. Wright rangey? You dont know what you are talking about. They both fully pressured him the entire fight both times. Just watch em before you argue about it. Mosley has been my favorite boxer since before you even knew who he was. Im not dogging him, Im just speaking factually. Everyone counts Cotto out. Its a mistake. Im not saying that Mosley cant win. As a matter of fact I said that he has a shot for sure. I would just put money on Cotto.
