Forrest Vs. Baldomir RBR

You guys hopefully know both of these guys, Baldomir is a straight forward no-nonsense type of scrapper, Forrest is more of the pugilist as Lennox would say. I think this fight will actually be good, even tho it doesnt have action written all over it. These guys have 2 different styles and only one is going to be able to make the other play his game. I think the action is gonna depend on Forrest, he can pull a Floyd and just jab move potshot all night if he has his legs...or he can choose to get in there and mix it up,like he did in the Mayorga fights. If he does mix it up more often than not, Baldomir will come out on top. Right now I'm watching the replay of the Winky-Hopkins fight, I wanna see if this holding is as bad as some say....

Steward is right on as usual, he said Winky doesnt have the legs he used to and I agree 100% hes having trouble getting set and Bernard is controlling the fight with his legs and movement. Real close, hard to score.

I didnt even notice this fight was at 154...for a title no less. Forrest is coming off some surguries shoulder and elbow, lets ee if he has recovered.

The holding wasnt as bad as the lead headbutt right cross combo...ouch. Gotta give it to Hopkins he took Wright out of his game, and roughed him up. I scored it Hopkins winning by 2 rounds, but he could have penalized twice. The ref warned him, then warned again after saying he would take a point, for the holding. Scores were way off...

So where we at now Cheif? Still the Hopkins vs. Wright?

Baldy is 5'7 Forrest 6'0 , Im kind of pulling for Baldomir, but I think Forrest is gonna coast if he holds up with the injuries.Definately a crossroads fight for both, Ref is Micheal Ortega. Baldy is 43-10-6 13 kos

I’ rooting for Baldmoir because of his Cinderella story, but I cant see Baldmoir winning actually.

Lead right by baldy then a clinch with inside fightin...Forrset is standing his ground atm, baldy lunging with the hook leads...Forrest left hook counters, dips and 2 hooks to baldy...combo by Vern, double jab left hook..Baldy is pressing a bit, bit low with a shot...another lead right by baldy,and jab meets from Forrest. Looks pretty even 10-10 Forrest is looking to mix it up, could be great fight.

Round 4 of 12 Mouse under v's eye....Pfft Lederman has it 3 to nothin for Vernon..whatever..nice jab right by V. Baldy laughs he took a nice shot right there...Nice left hook by Baldy Vernon combos, the Hbo guys only are talking about Vernon..theyre biased IMO.
Vernon is landing clean but now a headbutt .Accidental...jabs from V keeping Baldy at bay, Vernon was swarming with nice body hooks, gotta give him that one 10-9 edit: at the end of the round Vernon lands a volley of hooks, it appeared Baldomir thought the 10 second bell was the end bell, he complained a bit after thinking they were late. Vernon start at his range , moving , nice left hook counter from V. Jabbing and throwing the right behind the jab from V. Baldy still presing hes having more trouble getting in now. V is timing hjis conters. Bald just keeps comin.. This pace suits V he is looking the faster of the 2. No real clean lands from BaldyV is loadin up his left hooks, Baldomir should feint then right cross...!0-9 Vernon edit: I may be tripping but the time keeper is doin the 10 sec a bit late..no biggie but it seemed like 5 seconds.

Baldy trying to jab in.., using head movement to weave in, no luck yet. Forrest has been keeping good range. Hes not trrading like the first 2 rounds. Another head clash..gonna be lots of those...distance and jab is V's key to victory..Low from V..., two close misses,Baldy corners V and V turns him around, low body shots from V questionable. 10-9 Vernon Baldomir needs to pick his shots better inside.

Baldy just landed a nice right cross...good exchange with both connecting with uppers at the same time...Baldy using feints again, he is putting the pressure for sure..Close round V landed a few more but Im giving even for Baldys agression 10-10

Baldy doesnt know how to corner V...his feet arent right hes just following..Vernon is winnig this fight with his movement like B-Hop did....lots of wingin misses from Baldy, both fighter have therye mouths open a bit...V' because he just pulled a Floyd on baldomir. 10-9

Baldy seems to have got 2nd wind few glancing leads by both, Baldy is catchin V mre now...jabs from V...Baldy needs ko, corner needs to tell em, good counter rights for V...ripping shots after a lull from V left hooks to body and head ugh ugly round but V took it, wasnt pretty tho 10-9Vernon. Vernon is going into safe mode clinching alot after a few shots, hes has been the faster man all night...Baldy looks like hes running on empty...Baldy winding up for the homer and coming close but no cigar....V is countering them with his own close but V takes it 10-9

Being a fight writer, it's always hard to avoid looking at this fight as the guy that Mayweather beat against the guy Mayweahter didn't want to fight. They're both pretty awward and it'd a tough cvall as to th winner....so I hope Vernon edges it cause he's the more adventurous of the two.

Vernon is very classy in victory, giving Baldomir props on his chin. He says he wasn't effected by the surguries, and felt good only pressure was from Baldy. It was a good fight for being pretty one sided, it started off better than it finished.Baldy says that Vernon was more willing to trade than Floyd and he is leaning towards retiring now after this fight. Great fight by Baldy he came to win,if he just could catch him.

Yeah I call em as I see em, dont take my score as official...On close rounds I go even more often then picking, because it seems like its preference at that point.

well done to Vernon Forrest, although there is no doubt that this title is very much maligned because of its historical involvement with Floyd Mayweather. However, there are people who will big up this fight and praise either fighter, so I'm glad to be among the first to offer the first judgement by Welsh judges.
