Can Hatton do the impossible ?
No one give Hatton a chance in the Kostya Tszyu fight people said he would be blasted out in 3 rounds. All though Kostya was 35 he was still a very big favorite going into the fight. Hatton had to walk through some monster shots to retire Kt at the end of the 11th.
Against a prime Floyd Mayweather the odds are stacked against Hatton once again. PBF is P4P the best fighter in the world.Hatton will be going over to America and probably moving up to 147.
My head says Mayweather will win by a UD but i think Hatton has a chance at causing another big upset (or at least thats what am hoping). With Hatton pressing the fight i dont see Floyd having it all his ownway .Hatton will have to have head movment on the way in other wise he will get hit everytime PBF punches i see Hatton having some success in close to PBF but carnt see him having enough success to win a UD against a better boxer like Mayweather.

I remember that no one gave Hatton too much of a chance against Cotto at 147.
At 140 it was another story.
The same formula should apply.
I would much rather see Floyd and Hatton fight at 140 then at 147.
Floyd could then cement and seal the claim to saying with confidence he beat the best at 140. and the critics would have to unanimously agree and with out debate. Floyd is going to smoke Ricky but if Floyd thinks he will come into the welter weight division owning people like he owned Hatton, Floyd has another thing coming to him and I think he and the rest of the world know this. I doubt Floyd steps back into the ring ever again, against a true young hungry welter weight.

I believe fighting at 147 for Hatton is only a problem against natural welterweights. Floyd is not a natural welter, so I don't see how the fight being at 147 instead of 140 will matter. Collazo gave Hatton trouble because he's a big, natural welter, and Hatton's wear-down mauling style is not going to be as effective against naturally bigger men. That won't be a problem against Floyd. The weight class is not going to play any factor in the outcome of this fight, IMHO.

Exactly, all this crap about what weight it is going to be held at is another excuse for Floyd haters to gun him. He is probably going to weigh the same fight night that he would have weighed if it was at 140.

I think too many are taking too much from Hatton's one and only performance at 147 against Collazo. Most people predicted he would put Collazo away and easily and it turned out much tougher than expected. I think Hatton would beat Collazo in a rematch, and Collazo will always be a tricky fighter for anyone. I dont think Hatton was at his best that night. Far from it.
Floyd is someone that will have Ricky's undivided attention. He will train harder than ever before for this. Hatton knows that this is the fight that could put him up there with the ATG's. He is a friendly chap, but is as determined as they come. Ive heard comparisons to the Mayweather: Gatti fight!? Get the fuck outta here!! Excuse my language there. Hatton will be looking to maul Floyd and pressure him like noone has pressured him before and I think he will do just that.
Hatton has the potential to do it, but he needs to be absolutely in tune like never before.

Here's the fight in a nutshell:
Hatton pushes floyd on the ropes for 4 rounds never getting the huge shot I wish he would land. floyd waits for him to tire then runs backward jabbing and only moves forward when Ricky stops to take a breath.
All in all, it will be yet another BORING "defensive masterpiece" on behalf mayweather.
The only fighters that will make floyd work for it would be Mosley/Margarito/Williams and that is why you would never see floyd fight them.

The fight happening at 147?
I aint so sure that he's got a shot at beating Floyd...but once again...we'll have a champion dropping a chunk of weight & facing legit competition...so anything could happen.
In a word...I just don't know...but I'm less secure about a sure fire win for Floyd now as I was when he was @ 147.

Yes he can.
I think Floyd will take it UD if he throws combos. He seems quite happy to potshot these days and if his output is not that great he will get outworked. If he potshots it could be like Oscar v Floyd but Hatton will not run out of gas like De La Hoya.
Ultimately I see this being Floyd on points but if Hatton wins I will not be surprised. I would say it is 55/45 fight at the mo.

I don't give him much of a chance here. I'd really like to see him win being that I hate Floyd so much. I just think Floyd is too technically sound. But then again I think my last correct pick was Morales over Pac Man in their first fight.

The kind of fighter that can beat Floyd is a jabber, and he avoids them like the plague for most of his career. A shorter inside fighter like Hatton is what Floyd is comfortable with cause he can keep him on the end of his punches. Hattons only chance is to bang at Floyd body..arm, elbows, stomach, whatever he can for the first half of the fight and hope that Mayweather begins to drop his right hand and make an opening for Hattons left hook. PBF is gonna keep his left shoulder in front of him the entire fight as he always done so don't look for Hatton to land many right hands. Basically the key for Hatton to be successful is this:
1. Cut the ring off. PBF is confident that he can fight of the ropes, cause well he can, BUT while his head may be moving his body is not so Ricky should take advantage of Floyd's overconfidence on the ropes and bang the body.
2. Don't give Floyd his space. He is uncomfortable fighting in close at a fast pace, so be relentless and keep going forward cutting the ring off, but not chasing him though.
3. Fight rough. Hatton is known for using roughhouse tactics and in order for him to win this fight he should use all the tricks. The same things that worked against Tszyu will work against Mayweather but wont win him the fight if he relies soley on these tactics.
4. Keep a tight defence. If Mayweather wins as people expect it will have a lot to do with Ricky's lack of defence. If he comes straight in against Mayweather he will get picked apart. He needs to move his head. He should study some tapes of Duran and see why defence and offence can work hand in hand.
5. Feint punches from time to time. Especially the right hand to throw the left hook. Mayweather is expecting Hatton to be easy to figure out or maybe he thinks he has already figured him out. Show him something he hasn't seen in the tapes.

Good analysis, i think Hatton will cause Floyd all sorts of problems. Floyd won't knock him out and i do think he will win a decision but Hatton is good and he is tough. I think he would be better in this fight at 140 than 147, still it will at 147lb and Hatton will have to deal with that.
Hatton has the win over KT and that's something Mayweather can never claim to have, on that win alone i give Hatton a chance of an upset.
