Hatton v Mayweather fight pushes Spice Girls from the MGM Grand!!

RICKY HATTON KO’d the Spice Girls to seal his December 8 date with Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas.

The Hitman has signed to fight unbeaten Mayweather on the same night Posh and Co were booked to appear at the MGM Grand hotel’s 20,000-seat Garden Arena.

But the Vegas leg of the Spice Girls’ world reunion tour is set to be switched to a 12,000-seat venue at the nearby Mandalay Bay to accommodate Hatton.

A source said: “Many people regard Ricky’s fight as a bigger attraction.”

Hatton, 28, outpointed Luis Callazo last year in his only previous bout at welterweight. The IBO light-welter champ insisted he would only go to 147lbs again to face Mayweather.

He said: “It’s the biggest fight of my career.

“I am fighting a five-weight world champion, the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world. This is my dream chance and I’ll take it.”

But Mayweather warned: “With Ricky Hatton it is already personal. I can’t wait to get him in the ring. He’s definitely getting knocked out.”

Why don't they just use the spice girls as Card Girls?

Well we know Mayweather likes to say he knocks everyone out, but honestly what else is he going to say " im going to beat by a unanimous decision", it's all about hype similar to the Dela Hoya fight, he will give it the big man personna, when really its all theatre.

You've got to remember that the Spice Girls are all between 35 and 40 these days....I like my card girls without stretch marks and the wear and tear of numerous pregnancies. :p

Thanks Rhun, I was trying to forget that........I liked remembering them as young and tight bodied. Prolly looks more like the cast from 'The View' nowadays...............

Yes awesome news!! I booked up the MGM Grand yesterday but I wasn't sure wether the fight would be in the Bay or MGM! I didn't really mind where I stayed but its kool to know i'm also staying at the hotel where the fight is taking place! 4 Nights at the MGM Grand with return flights from London for £475 can't go wrong ;D

There is nothing 100% certain yet mate, but the safe money is on the MGM.

Well thats kool either way i'm there so i'm excited already! ;D
I'm not even worried about getting hold of tickets just yet..I would kill for them if I have to! lol

Just do a little online searching mate ;) they're actually not as much as I thought also. Although by now they could be a lot more expensive! I booked on the day the fight was official..there was no official venue though maybe that's why I got it so cheap. Also the only days the hotels are really expensive are the weekend! But yeah the flights themselves I was expecting to be that much. Just search for packages mate, mine came as a flight + hotel combo.

Hmm maybe just maybe Mayweather does stand toe to toe against Hatton. Hopefully Hatton can take advantage over this & hopefully knock him out. Hmm hopefully!

There will be no excuses from me, but i cant see Mayweather knocking him out, maybe im wrong but why would Mayweather fight any differently to Baldomir?

I think Hatton will win. No excuses either way though. I'm not a fan of Floyd's attitude, but he's an amazing fighter. I've never seen anyone like him.

Not a bad call - I reckon Hatton will be stopped on his feet, either through cuts or punishment

Mate we're all Hatton fans here ;)

He hasn't been stopped on cuts, but he is suceptible to cuts and has been cut many times before (Maussa was last time) He has never faced anybody that was able to capitlize on a cut, if he does get cut, rest assured Mayweather will capitlize. We all know he has scar tissue and issues with vasline behind the skin from poor cut work earl in his career - I just think he is vunerable to cuts, but if I am honest I think he will be stopped on his feet through too much punishment - Hope to God I'm wrong

I think it was thaxton that last cut him with a punch though and like you say that was because he had lots of dried vaseline under his skin. This has all been cleared out and hatton has had plastic surgery on his eyes since then.

His only cuts since have been from heads and with PBF this isnt the kind of fight where his head is going to be banging together all the time so i really cant see how he is going to lose on cuts in this one.

also why do you think hatton will be stopped on his feet? He is far superior to gatti in every aspect so for those that are saying it will be simular to that i just cant believe it? Ive also heard people compare baldomir to hatton. Ha ha i dont really need to explain how pathetic that one is do i?

I personnally think it will be a split decision that could go either way but thats just my opinion

the plastic surgery was on his cheekbones due to vasaline build up

I saw the spice girls on tv recently ,one of them got a boob job. Looked pretty good to me. ;D ;D

Having said that ,of coarse Hatton PPH fight pushed out the spice girls . Wouldn't it be the ultimate embarrasment for boxing if it was the other way around? :o :o

As far as Hatton getting stopped on cuts. PBF beat the hell out of Gatti and I dont remember him getting cut .If you cant cut Gatti who can you cut??

I dont think Ricky will be stopped. But i no longer think he'll win either. Floyd could easily score a wide UD.

Then again, a body shot in the right place from Ricky will stop anyone! Very small punchers chance though.

You realise that the up and down weight issues of Hatton will eventually lead to stretch marks....but he ain't pushing 40 i admit.
