Heel yeah Diaconu is the real deal, this will be a very difficult fight for Dawson.Quote:

CC for that, who do you fany. BTW,you can remove the SIGS now bro.
Diaconu's nickname is the shark... and it's fits him perfectly. He's going to be a really pain for Dawson. I'm not sure Dawson can come on top. :lickish:
What makes you say that bro? Are you a Diaconu fan? Give me some info on him, what are his strenghts and weaknesses? Going by you guys, should Chad should recieve kudos for taking this fight right?Quote:

Yeah NC,Shaw tried to get a Tarver fight for Chad but they could not find a venue big enough for the date which would generate enough $$$ to fulfill Tavers expectations. This seems like a good fight though. I'm going to watch Diaconu v Hoye and Thyse hopefully, later today.
The Hoye fight was the one I saw, Hoye is tall but not even close to Dawson in skill, or power.
Diaconu strengths: Great stamina, pressure fighter that never gives up, good chin but his main stregth is his power. Not too bad at cuting the ring and became patient in his last few fights. He's precise with his shots. He's also got approximately 250 amateur fights.
His flaws are that he is a little slow. Not great head movement but his defense is ok. He wasn't too keen on waiting for the openings before and used to get winded for trying to rip people's heads off with every single shot.
He's going to be a great challenge for Dawson, especially since he has a questionable chin.
Wow. What a matchup. Diaconu is like a little 175 lb Tyson and he just has explosive power. Dawson is good definitely, but Diaconu is awesome. It's intriguing.
Shit! :o
Diaconus gonna check BCD chin....
Alright BCD, heres the plan.... Box well, stick and move, stick and move.... Use your reach against the shorter and less skilled then you fighter... If you do get caught and go down take your time to get up don't jump up in the air like your OK, even if you are.
Reset and start fresh with your jab, BCD your jab is an important factor here if you can stick it in his face from early on you will frustrate him and he'll be more open to commit a mistake...
El Gamo, BCD should def. get credit for taking this fight anyone whos seen Diaconu will tell you hes a damn! menace....
Heres his last fight against Hoye (I recorded it myself and put it on YouTube 8) )

CC for that Mick. I saw the fight,Diaconu looks pretty good. I think he loads up on punches too much sometimes but don't his left hooks remind you guys of Tyson? Good right hand too and even though it has a slight loop to it,he manages to land it. I'd like to see him use the jab more though. Physically,he is built like a bull to! Should be a good fight!
CC,good analysis,totally agree.Quote:

diaconu is a pressure in your face fighter with short power punches, he likes to be the one right in your grill
wow, interesting fight. Diaconu might be a bit too relaxed at times, he doesn't seem that busy to me from what I've seen-which is not a whole lot-but he does have explosive power. I'm not sure who I'll pick actually, I think Diaconu's got the power to knock Chad out and I like Chad as a fighter. He could outbox and outwork Diaconu though, this is interesting.
Nice fight, good style matchup.
I like Chad as a fighter but he could tighten up the defense a bit and I wonder how his chin holds up cause Diaconu seems pretty explosive. I haven't seen Diaconu that much but he seems pretty patient, at times he might just get outworked. Haven't seen enough to know how he really takes a punch but he doesn't seem to have that leaky of a defence for a guy that comes forward.
So can Diaconu win a decision, will he get outworked, outboxed, can he take Dawson's punches, can Dawson handle Diaconu's power? So who wins, why?
I'd go with dawson...he showed me a lot getting off the floor against adamek and finishing that fight, it could have taken a horrible turn after that. It concerns me how much he changes trainers but other than that i see him a pretty decent fighter
I think Diaconu puts up a better fight than expected and gives Dawson a pretty hard fight. But Dawson still takes it
i chose dawson
but i wouldn't be suprise if diaconu wins
He's a good fighter but there's something about Dawson that just seems real vulnerable me. I know anybody can be stopped but he's one of those guys where it wouldn't surprise me at all if he gets KTFO. Not saying it will happen here for sure, could though.
I like Dawson and i see him winning a close decision here
I slightly favor dawson, as long as he stays off the ropes with this guy and takes him into later rounds by boxing him. I think Dawson by decisive decision or late k.o. If he tries to bang with this guy though, he's getting put down. That guy can punch like a mule, though I see his stamina being in question in the later rounds.
My only problem with Dawson is that the two time he really stepped it up (against Adameck and Harding) he was knocked down. He did win those fights though otherwise impesssively. This fight could go two ways. Dawson wins a decision or Diancodu wins by KO. Im leaning toward the second one.
I think Dawson puts on a clinic, he knows Diaconu can bang so Chad will box a smart fight
I think it depends on whether BCD can take Diaconu's power. If he can use the jab, stick and move,I think he'll win, with possibly the odd spot of bother here and there.Plus I've never seen Diaconu against a nice, slick boxer so I don't know how good he is at cutting off the ring etc.
I see that Chad is fighting Epifanio Mendoza tomorrow night.
I hate it when there's an elimination and then the winner doesn't get his chance, or gets put off and put off.
Is this a tune up, or was this supposed to be Diaconu and he was hurt and this is a substitution?
As a side note: Mendoza fought for a minor title against someone with an 0-1 record!? That kind of thing usually seems to happen at minimum weight or in womens boxing...

Good night for boxing overall though, considering what HBO also has in store for us.
Thanks, I'd CC you if I could.
That makes me feel better, but too bad...
Yeah def a good boxing night. Too bad I don't have SHO, so I guess I'll have to catch Chad online
