what is boxing greatest record ???
Chavez had longest undefeated streak in boxing it took 90 fights until he lost even though i think he should of had couple of losses before that.
its gotta be marciano!
Valero's 18 KOs in 1st round were from tricycle drivers. ;D
I'm a big Marciano and Archie Moore fan but I had to go will ol' Willy.
229-11-1 is damn hard to argues against...I go with Willo
Dam lol, I was like hmm Where’s “Sugar” Ray Robinson? Well just goes to show you my boxing knowledge does not go to far lol. Willy I would guess takes my vote!Quote:

How about 25 successful title defenses AND
having 7 title defenses in one year!
Heavyweight Joe Louis
If Marciano really had an 87% KO record, both George Foreman and Wilfredo "Bazooka" Gomez had higher career KO percentages, that I know of. There's probably others as well.
I am more of a modern era fan, but this being said...the further back we go the more fights took place where it was the best on best. None of the ducking that happens now.
I picked Marciano and his ko percentage.
SRR 128-1-2 is unbelievable! Pep's record is amazing too. I give it to SRR though!
Thats my first thought.Quote:

I give mine to Rocky Marciano for his KO percntage and staying undefeated ;)
chavezs got disqualified early in his career but a certain mr suliman changed the result.Quote:

find he just sticks in my mind.... it would be much appreciated if anyone could get me a link to any footage of pep

Whats more the fact that the guy used to fight sometime 3/4 times a month.. SOMETIMES
3 or 4 times a week..
And his record was still incredible then
If the man was in his prime within these past 20 odd years or even today and was fighting once every month or two months a guy like him could have been 100-0 against great competition..
An utter legend
As far as records go I like 'Finito' Lopez, Marcianos and JCC's....
Good one Lyle... :)Quote:

Then I would reply yeah but he got beat Rocky didn't, then Id reply yeah thats because he only had half as many fights or so....
Aaaaah then id get confused when a third me says ...scuse me what about Mr Pep.....then id go back to sleep after telling myself....oh shurrup just pick all listed lol, :chillpill:
But seriously tho, Rocky for me.......
And I dint mean Balboa lol..he is real ain't he... :coocoo:
Tefelio Stevenson's Olympic Record
or
Felix Savon (having beat Brewster, Briggs, Tua and countless other pro champs with chilling ease)
According to "The Ring" magazine, this is the fourth-longest streak of all times. Gomez 32 KO include a TKO victory over the same Lupe Pintor (TKO-14) before his first lost by TKO against Salvador Sanchez. After that Gomez had 8 straight wins all by KO/TKO before winning his first decision against other Puerto Rican, Juan Laporte who never went to the canvas and faced the greatest names of his weight division. Before the decision with Laporte, Gomez record was 40 wins - 40 KO - 1 lost - 1 draw (his first pro-fight).Quote:

Vitali Klitschko has a better KO percentage than pretty much anyone else I can think of.....only 1 guy went the distance with him!
I think Joe Louis' records are unattainable these days given politics and promoters and so many titles and whatever.
Willie Pep and Ray Robinson's feats could be accomplished but never on the same scale...JC Chavez Jr has a shot at having around 100 fights....but it's just so hard to stay in shape, not get cut, not get hurt, and pass the medical exams.
Willie Pep was in a plane crash and was boxing again that very same year 1947 I believe....that's a tough SOB!
Valero ko% is better than Klitschko'sQuote:
