What the heck is Manny doing?
He was supposed to start training for the MAB fight 1 week ago,Roach had already expressed his concerns and now, after the press conference with MAB,he is reportedly fighting out to Manila again(according to fightnews, you can read the article there). I have a feeling he is taking MAB too lightly after KTFO him out. If he does take him lightly,he will be in for a rude awakening!

I am a fan of manny pacquaio but if he takes MAB lightly he will truly regret it. A guy with MAB's caliber is not to be taken lightly. MAB has nothing to lose in this fight but has more to prove. I believe he is the hungrier fighter now.
If Manny continues his being an undisciplined fighter, I may change my bet to MAB. Before Manny came into the picture, I believe MAB was the best fighter in the super featherweight division. Next to PAcquaio, MAB is the man. I'm already excited to see this fight.

Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
It also sounds like he pissed a few Phillapinos off, he was supposed to be the captain for the "world cup of boxing" but just went awol back to the the Phillapines.
I also read on another website that Freddy Roach said they didn't have an argument and he might join Manny out there. This all seems pretty odd, and not the right mindset Manny needs to have against MAB, who will be giving everything he has for this fight.

No, your information is quite wrong.Manny was not supposed to be the captain for the world cup. The organizers were just thinking if they could replace the 7th pair because one mexican contender had some problems with his eyes. The reason why the world cup had only 6 fights instead of 7.
I am sensing that Manny is somewhat problematic. I don't know. I have this weird feeling that he will lose this fight with MAB. Same feeling I had when he lost to Erik Morales during their first fight.
I may be affected by my knowledge that Manny is into too much drinking, vices, etc these days. Plus he was greatly affected when he lost the election for Congress. Whew! If I am to assess the winning chances of Manny right now based on my gut feeling, 30% will be his maximum chance.

Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
boom boom is the team captain of the philippine team not pac.
i guess PAC is still finishing up his movie or something, maybe he decided to re shoot the kissing scene with an actress named ara mina.
"The kissing scene took them 9 takes before it was considered good to go. The movie is produced by Manny Pacquiao himself and is directed by Kaka Balagtas."
http://tagpuan.com/manny-pacquiao-ki...-mina-9-times/
if pac decides NOT to take MAB seriously then i wish he loses to mab. its about time someone knocks pac into realization that he aint superman.
-
Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
PAC cant handle his liquor, the fact is that after losing in the election he is now finishing up a movie which he produced.
and he has probs with his marriage, i got it from a tabloid type show. ehehehe
-
Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
here goes the manny talk again about him partying too much not training taking oppenent lightly, come on manny knows what his doing. He has a whole country to remind him ;)
everyone that wants pac to lose always comes up with pre-talks about what his doing and what he should be doing if not his going to lose, hahaha its always before a fight its getting lame guys.

what in the world are you talking about rookie, pac doesn't walk around like his superman. His the most succesful and humble fighter in the game. He does his own thing in and out of the ring, its fans or haters that always wants to bring up somethings about him. He could care less if people cared of what he is up too. His just doing what he had dream of doing for ages, he loves films, politics and boxing. Leave the guy alone with what he wants to do and go worry about your own life buddy.

You hit the nail on the head there....Do Not Take MAB lightly.........Right now Marco is looking to retire....But he is looking to go out on a high note.....He would love nothing more then to avenge this KO loss and ride off into the Mexico sunset.......

Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
Still, when Roach says Manny is late for traning, there are problems. Also,Manny WAS originally captain of tthe Filipino team,do your reading first. JMM was the leader of the Mexican team, not to fight but just to lead them out, congratulate them and hypen them up. Here's something I've found and plenty of sites have written about it: edited.

Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
Hay naku!
Pac will spend most of his time training somewhere in the Phil. (new boxing gym). RB was the team captain of the Phil team, not Pac.
-
Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
Im sure Barrera is hard at work by now. Pac is good but if he doesnt focus then he will be shown up. The fight isnt all that long away.

As I just posted from a relaible site,Pac was captain as in to lead the team, boost morale just asJMM was for the Mexican side.. Being leader does not necessarily equate to fighting. However, whilst JMM carried out his duties,Pac didn't,hence some of the fans were angry at Manny.
He nay very well be training there but without Roach,I don't think that is such a wise move. Freddy is the tactician.

ExaCtly,MAB will be traning hard, preparing gameplan already. I intially predicted Manny would wipe the floor with him and I still think a 100% focused Manny would but he does not seem focussed at all right now.

Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
This fight isn't cut and dry by a long shot. Only a fool would write off Barrera. This is a fight that wont fail to live up to expectations.
Its his final fight and he will be ready to deliver whatever it takes and in the best possible condition.

Well I don't think its 100% it will live up to expectations, which is why there have been threads questioning the fight being made. Manny wiped the floor with MAB when they first fought, beating him from pillar to post and has increased his skill level alot since then.

Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
Barrera looks so old at the press conference. He looked about as old as Oscars smile did fake posing with Arum.

Well,... Hmmm... let's see here...
There won't be any wild forestry fire at MAB's training camp up in Big Bear, no marriage problem, his metal plate on his head is fully healed, he knocked down JMM, he's vindictive from his TKO loss from Pac and will be retiring this year.
Oh yeah,.. MAB got enough reasons to win!
But please NO more excuses from his fans if he get his but whipped for the second time. ;)
Peace.

Thats your opinion.
Ive made my reasons known for the need for this fight. I expect that it will be VERY entertaining.
So what if Manny stopped Barrera? Didnt Morales beat Pac first time out? Tables can always be turned. Barrera is an expert at evolving his game. Barrera will box.
You continue to underestimate Barrera. You are a Morales man at the end of the day! ;D

Well this was from boxingscene.com, so I'm not sure how wrong my info is....
Manny Pacquiao who was named captain of Team Philippines in the World Cup showdown against Mexico at the Arco Arena on Sunday discarded the honor and flew back to Manila without informing either trainer Freddie Roach or Golden Boy Promotions Oscar De La Hoya who were scheduled to fly in a private jet to Los Angeles to pick up Pacquiao and take him to Sacramento.
Filipino fight fans were disappointed when Pacquiao failed to show up at the weigh in while Juan Manuel Marquez who had replaced Marco Antonio Barrera as Mexico’s team captain was there. The disappointment turned to anger when he failed to show up in support of his fellow Filipino boxers with fans blasting him for being unpatriotic, unprofessional and a swellhead.
Bottom line is it's not a good thing that he's leving Wild Card gym. I thought one of the reasons he doesn't train in the Phillippines is too many distractions.

Cross those fingers and hope that that table is not made of 1 piece heavy steel and not permanently impaled in the concrete pavement.
I agree, EM beat Pac, and Pac was the one who turned the table.

Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
Ahahaha, yeah I guess that's what it is,me being a Morales fan. It's not just that though, it was clear from the first Juarez fight,MAB does not have the fire in his stomach to go to war anymore. And I don't think he can outbox someone like Manny for 12 rounds. He couldn't outbox the counter puncher turned pressure fighter JMM.
As for the Morales fight, well Morales fighting style is totally different to MAB. Also, MAB waited how many years before a rematch?? His skills have only dwindled over time and Manny's have improved. Manny 100% will KTFO MAB again. If not,MAB has a chance but a small one imo.
I don't think it's under estimating,it's being realistic.Look at all the factors I've mentioned,it makes Manny a hot favourite and he has only improved since their first fight,MAB has not.

Pac did indeed turn the tables against Morales. Barrera is able to adapt better than Morales though. Barrera wont be trading in round 2 with Pac!! ;D
But they will trade in the fight.

I agree with you. Good example is when MAB fought Juarez for the second time. But the problem is Juarez aint' that agressive and powerful as Pac.

A very stupid line, El Gamo, and not very funny.
He did better against than Marquez than you imagine. I started a thread about that fight and could you respond with a card of your own? No. But instead you told how Marquez was landing the harder punches down the stretch. Barrera held his own against Marquez and is near the top of his game. He believes he can win and would have not taken the fight if he didnt think he could win. I think he has every chance of pulling off a win. You are being the unrealistic sort by saying Manny wins by KO 100% ;)

Miles I'm with El gamo I think a 100% pacman will end mab again. Look man, watch how mabs speed have decrease, both him and jmm. Watch the fight again man, and then watch how fast and strong pac is in his recent fights. Solis isn't exactly anywhere near the level of jmm and mab but his undefeated nevertheless. Watch how fast and strong pac is in that fight, then watch how slow and aged jmm and mab look against eachother.
I just think Pac is too strong and even faster then how he was when he first demolish mab. Mabs chance of winning is lesser then before since he has waited for so long for this rematch, its true pac has gotten better and mab has only gotten worst. Even though a mab win to set up a trilogy would be great for the fans, but I don't think pac is going to let himself be beaten again.
I think if mab trys to box, the striaght left is going to make him jab more but once mab gets too aggressive a counter right hook from pac is going to get mab in serious trouble. Remember Mab couldn't stop pacs straight left before, now he also has to deal with a counter right hook. Can mab at this age neutralize two very fast dangerous weapons from pacman? And don't forget all those body shots pac throws while in close. You do'nt know FPJ but I'm sure thats where pac learned how to throw body shots from in close ;D

He used to beat the sh1t out of the Diaz brothers (Paquito and Romy).

If PAC decides to leave his fans and teammates hanging and loses respect for the sport. I really wouldnt mind seeing him get KTFO in the first round.

LOL! FPJ ;D
He used to beat the sh1t out of the Diaz brothers (Paquito and Romy).
yea thats my godfather rest his soul.
Yea I remember the Diaz brothers, Paquito was the man with that mustache with no teeth haha. I remember watching them as a kid, man they are old now and FPJ is already gone :(

Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
Remember Roach also had a lot of concerns about Pacquiao before the Solis fight, saying he hadn't talked to Manny at all and this was like 2 months out.
MAB has pretty much been an underdog for every big fight he's had with the exception of the first Pacquiao bout and he has won pretty much everyone of them. It goes all the way back to the first Morales fight. He didn't get the decision versus JMM but I believe he won.
Now he's being written off perhaps more then he ever has before (which is ridiculous after the JMM fight), and if Roach is expressing concerns yet again then this isn't something you can just chalk up to "haters" Julius. Mayweather has more haters then anyone but you never hear anyone questioning where his head is or whether or not he is fully dedicated. This isn't the first time this has happened with Manny.

It's not often I completely disagree with your post, but this one had me scratching my head all the way through.
First off, MAB doesn't have the stomach to go to war? Are you kidding? MAB - JMM is FOTY for me, that was an absolute war and they literally went punch for punch, landing and throwing identical numbers. The reason he outboxed Juarez was because he could and he felt Juarez' power in the first bout, power that I think is tops in the division as far as one punch goes. So he outboxed him.
Manny 100% KTFO Mab? You mean the guy who couldn't get Oscar Larios out of their and had to wait for a cut to get Solis out is going to 100% KO one of the 3 best 129 lbers on the planet? 100%? It sounds like you're completely writing off MAB and I have no idea why, this ALWAYS happens and he ALWAYS comes out smelling like roses.
And it's not being realistic, anyone who watched MAB - Manny saw that MAB just had never seen anyone like Manny and didn't know how to react. Now, not only has MAB seen Manny, he's seen him beat. He's seen that he can be countered and out moved on his feet, two things MAB is great at.
I think Manny is going to have a bit to much for MAB but this won't be the domination it was last time unless MAB is just a shot fighter. And anyone who watched him battle JMM knows that he is NOT a shot fighter. He isn't going to be overwhelmed like he was last time.

exactly this isn't the first time it has happen but has pac came into a fight unprepared and unconditioned??? I just feel like everyone is quick to jump on pac when they feel his doing other things beside boxing. i mean he always come into a fight more conditioned then anybody, its not like he comes into a fight like james toney fat and farting all over the place.
anybody can admit nobody has more distraction outside the ring than pac, but has it affected him inside the ring? NOpe!!!!!!! Let pac handle his business before people start judging his dedication. Come back and judge him if he ever comes to a fight uncondtioned and unprepared.

Which fight was that? Pac-JMM?.. Before the TKO Velasquez? UD Larios? TKO Morales 2? KO Morales 3? KO Solis?
Pac has more arsenals now and has gotten better with his skills.

"Manny 100% will KTFO MAB again".

Very good posting :coolclick:
Barrera is the underdog and as you point out...it isnt for the first time.
Ive heard a lot of silly arguments such as a) Barrera is fighting just for the money b) Barrera is 100% getting knocked out c) Pac is nigh on indestructable
All 3 arguments are utter tripe and show a complete lack of understanding of both of the fighters involved. I am a Barrera fan but above all a boxing fan. I am glad that this fight is taking place. Pac will be the favourite and I respect why this is the case. Barrera has a tough task but Barrera is such a smart boxer. Its highly unlikely he will perform worse second time out.

Re: What the heck is Manny doing?
in boxing, when you have the skills you can turn the table upside down. we don't know if it's MAB's time to turn the table upside down.

Re: What the heck is Manny doing?

Exactly. We just dont know for sure. Thats why its irritating to hear things like "Barrera is 100% getting knocked out" or Barrera is to old and in it for the paycheck.
By my reckoning against Marquez, Barrera was the sharpest he has been in the opening rounds. He was boxing beautifully. Barrera did enough to steal a decision in that fight. I think a lot of people have those exciting 2nd and 3rd fights Morales fights in their heads and automatically assume that because Marco has been stopped already then its automatically gonna happen again. Barrera held his own against Marquez. And is now coming into this.
I wont make any outlandish predictions because I know this is a fight that can go either way. But I do think Barrera has the capacity to pull off an upset. Admittedly, Im aware that if Barrera doesnt get it right then he is in for a tough, tough night.
Either way, I anticipate a very exciting fight. ;)
