Alot of people say how boring PBF is and that his fights are rubbish. Well are there any entertaining PBF fights? if so which ones would you recommend watching?

All the Mayweather fights mentioned by ICE COLD BOXING are very entertaining (though the scoring in the Mayweather vs. Castillo fight was questionable to say the least :-\) but one of my all time favorites is the Mayweather vs. Genaro Hernandez.
Mayweather vs. G. Hernandez was Floyd's 1st title fight, and was at super featherweight (that alone should give you a good idea as to Floyd's skills being that he just beat a super middleweight Oscar Delahoya)
I saw you have 90 posts, which is good news because when you hit 100 you unlock the file sharing board which has a slew of great fights from almost every fighter you can think of.
Or, if you don't feel like waiting, you can catch a few (including the Mayweather vs. G. Hernandez fight) on you tube without having to wait to download it.
enjoy.

Castillo vs Mayweather fight was close i had Castillo ahead by one point but Mayweather outboxed him in rematch i think i had Mayweather ahead by 3 rounds and G. Hernandez fight was masterpiece from Floyd Hernandez had never lost at that weight class either and Floyd didn't have that many fights.
-
Re: Floyd in any good fights?
Mayweather vs Ndou & Mayweather vs Emanuel Augustus are two of my favorite PBF fights.
theres a good copy of mayweather ndou on the file sharing board and a not so goog but watchable copy of the augustus fight there too.

Agreed.
He was quite an agressive fighter at the lower weight classes.
Mayweather v N'dou was a great fight, one of my favourite PBF fights along side Mayweather v agustus.

Re: Floyd in any good fights?
The fact that Floyd Mayweather Jr.,
does not even have a Fight Of The year should tell you plenty dayo.
He does not even have a fight of the week.
He is also known as Pretty Boring Floyd
;D

Actually it's a testament to his skill that he doesn't have a fight of the year, considering fight of the year means war, meaning a bout that was evenly contested, and the elite fighters achieve FIGHTER of the year, which he received from RING MAGAZINE the year of his destruction of the late Diego Corrales, r.i.p.

Aaron Pryor never had fight of the year and he is one of the most exciting fighters i've ever seen just because he hasn't had fight of the year doesn't mean he is boring just look at the fights he was up against Danny.
1998: Ivan Robinson W10 Arturo Gatti
1999: Paulie Ayala W12 Johnny Tapia
2000: Erik Morales W12 Marco Antonio Barrera I
2001: Micky Ward W10 Emanuel Burton
2002: Micky Ward W10 Arturo Gatti I
2003: Arturo Gatti W10 Micky Ward III
2004: Marco Antonio Barrera W12 Erik Morales III
2005: Diego Corrales KO10 José Luis Castillo I
2006: Somsak Sithchatchawal KO10 Mahyar Monshipour
Its pretty hard to win fight of the year against these classics Danny.

Exactly Floyd stayed in punching range in all of these fights i don't understand what that guy means Oscar running last 3 rounds against Tito is running staying in punching range close to your opponent is not.

If fights of the year are only composed of guys who run, which of these 3 guys that participated in your illustrious fights of the year are better than Mayweather?
Gatti? (assuming you've been watching boxing for that long, which you probably haven't) You were probably one of the people talking about Gatti's power, heart, etc. etc, and Floyd doesn't stand a chance, but I'm sure you remember the result. After the fight you turn around and criticize him for taking the fight cause Mayweather made it look so easy. Similar to what you did when Mayweather fought Delahoya.
Augustus/Burton? Another all time great ::** If I remember correctly, Floyd got the TKO in that one, too.
Ward? Mayweather never fought him. Floyd was probably ducking him the same way he is now ducking Margarito and Cotto, right? ::**
Of the 3 guys I mentioned, Gatti was by far the best, and Mayweather put on an absolute clinic against him.
See Danny, in order for it to be a fight of the year, it has to be an actual fight.
So much for your theory..................

Re: Floyd in any good fights?
I cant believe you would hate on Floyd for fighting smart, the guy started boxing at 130 and was in plenty of exciting fights but as he got to 147 he realised he couldnt stand and trade with the bigger men. He adapted his style so he could get the victory against the bigger men and all he gets is a load of shit from guys like Danny G. People say he ducks such and such but if that was the case then why did he give a rematch to Castillo? To call a fighter who is 38 -0 (24 ko's) a boring fighter is just plain ignorant i'd like to see you step in the ring and see if you could do any better. Any boxer can brawl but very few can box with the skill that Floyd does and beat the guy in front of him so easily 24lbs up from his natural weight.

Of course he doesn't run if he feels there is no longer a threat. It's the threat factor that makes him run until the other fighter is too tired to continue the chase. Then and only then does he pour it on. pbf is a yawnfest to watch.

Re: Floyd in any good fights?
Aside from baldomir and dlh when has floyd "ran"?
It does seems like his body has been producing some extra estrogen lately. If it keeps up he might even be able to bear children.
But the only running he used to do was when he was running his fist into someone's head. His resume is full of exciting fights.
However, I think he's going to man up against hatton. I dont think he will fear hatton's power and I think floyd will put on a brutal, dominating performance...hopefully this will be a great fight!
But if he puts on another performance like he did against oscar then f*ck him. Finesse is fine and good, but boxing is still a CONTACT sport.

Re: Floyd in any good fights?
I think Floyd is one of the best if not best ever Super Featherweight. At that weight and lightweight I thought he was very exciting to watch. Now that he's fighting larger guys he obviously has a different style that is very effective for him but not the most appeasing to watch. I think where I have the problem is Floyd before these fights just goes on and on about how he's going to "Whop that ass" and that kind of stuff.

If you're a real boxing fan and not someone who only cares about knockouts and blood, pretty much all of Floyd's fights are exciting. People that say Floyd is boring shouldn't be watching boxing in the first place, they should be watching "Felony Fights" on Youtube or early UFC videos.

Simple Mayweather is above his natural weight he is in there with bigger guys you can't stand toe to toe with much bigger fighters when your way above your best fighting weight takes alot of steam out of your legs standing toe to toe with naturally bigger opponents you gotta fight smart.

P4P status occurs when a natural lightweight (some say super featherweight) can beat a jr. middleweight of Oscar Delahoya's caliber based on technique, speed, talent, and ability alone..... not to mention what he did at welterweight and junior welterweight
Oscar was by far the bigger, stronger, more seasoned fighter and Floyd OUTBOXED him. Great fighters eventually lose when they go a weight division or two too high. An elite fighter will still find a way to win.
World titles in 5 different weight classes while being undefeated at the age of 30, with almost 40 fights = p4p #1

That is the post of the topic right there. Well done man, good post. Man if Floyd is boring just take a look at other fighters resumes and try and pick as many great fights as Mayweathers got. I guarantee you there will only be a few fighters like the Gatti's and Benn's of the world. Yet Mayweather is undefeated and has no holes in his game! (That have been exposed yet). Truly amazing. If you know boxing, you can appreciate Mayweather..like him or not! Period!

I'd agree. His fight with Gatti is proof of that.

Re: Floyd in any good fights?
Just watched round 4 of the corley fight again. What the hell was Hatton talking about more excitement in the Castillo fight than Mayweathers whole career. That round was one of the best rounds i have ever seen, non stop action for the whole 3 minutes. Hatton better hope he can hurt Floyd otherwise he is gonna get beat up bad on the inside.

ICE COLD BOXING

Not every second of floyds fights are boring, his opponents do make it iteresting to watch from time to time :D
To Ice as well as all the others. We are all just going to have to agree to disagree on the subject of floyd mayweather. Time will tell with him. Some think he's already proven himself to be in the top p4p of all time, some feel he is well on his way to that goal, others feel he has a long way to go.
Lord knows noone posting on this or any other sight is out there helping him get to the top or standing in his way and preventing his ascent, we are all just dukking it out on a forum for crying out loud.
