Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
Interesting choice, I mean, N'dou doesn't do a lot like Hatton but he will provide a lot of rounds and decent left hooks. Definitely a high class sparring partner.
-
Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
Good choice actually, N'dou does have stamina and nobody seems to be able to knock him out.
Floyd will probably get many rounds out of him and get N'dou to keep coming forward non stop.
It will be a left hook frenzy at training i would imagine!

Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
It will be just one of many of his sparring partners but a good one. Floyd will still biatch slap Lovemore Ndou around in the ring but I think Floyd is looking for a hugger and Lovemore Ndou does plenty of that, has great stamina and is always trying to come forward. The fight against Hatton all depends on who is going to be the ref. If the ref allows excesive holding it will favor Hatton but if the ref is the same ref (Eddie Cotton) who did the Malignaggi fight, it will be all Floyd. The ref is the key to this whole fight.
-
Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
Ndou is nothing like hatton but i don't think it matters much really ndou does have his own certian strengths that will give floyd some good rounds of getting pressured and stalked around the ring
-
Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
I wouldn't say Ndou is NOTHING like Hatton, they both come forward and hardly back up in a similar way, both have been dropped by boxers before and both apply lots of pressure, the difference being Hatton throws more and to the body, something which Ndou can emulate. Also, physically,Ndou looks as strong as Hatton so I'm sure they are working on when Hatton clinches etc.
I totally agree DG,if it is a ref that allows lots of holding,Hatton has much more of a chance than if it is a ref who does not allow so much holding. As holding is a a big part of Hatton's game(whether you think that is a good thing or not),the ref will be important.
-
Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
I think whoever the ref is will probably focus a lot on making sure there isn't a lot of holding especially since that is such a big part of ricky ususal fight plan and the fight being so big....the last thing they want is to have a fight where ricky is holding all night making floyds workrate even lower then usual, the casual fan cried and moaned about pbf/odh i think they'll do their best to make sure all these upcoming superfights not get that type of response from them again..

Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
Good sparring partner for Mayweather just to go slighty off topic 5th round of Mayweather vs Ndou was one of the rounds of the year great fight that was i wonder who Hatton's sparring partner is theres only one fighter who has speed of Mayweather and that is Mosley so it will be interesting to see Hatton's sparring partner and El Gamo i think Mayweather should spar with Jesus Chavez if he is available he has very similar style to Hatton.

I think your confused bro, this is Lovemore Ndou, the guy that lost to Paulie Malignaggi, the fighter you are referring to is Phillip Ndou, the one with whom Floyd shared that awesome round 5. Yes Jesus Chavez would be ok but I think Ndou is just as good. Plus,I don't think anyone knows what Jesus is up to nowadays,I'm sure he's still injured?

You're right and i also mentioned some of those similarities earlier in this topic...but like just mentioned someone more along the lines of a Chavez is actually a good idea and more along the lines of what I'd expect...

My mistake thanks for correcting me bro i thought it was Phillip Ndou because i actually didn't read article i assumed it was him my mistake and yes i haven't heard much of Jesus Chavez lately but he would be perfect sparring parter for Mayweather if he is fine with everything and i actually still can't think of a good sparring partner for Ricky Hatton.

Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
Sounds like this a level up from his last sparring partner for the Oscar fight . I remember he was beating up on some unknown guy in the 24/7 programme . Just like a pack of hyenas all his gang crowded round when they saw blood and Floyd was acting like an idiot infront of the camera . Hes an insecure bloke and id love to see how he reacts after losing . Nas swallowed his pride when he lost to Barrera but asked for a rematch right away . I wonder if Floyd will have excuses ready .

That's how you boost your ego and psychologically overcome any anxiety you have.

Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
Ndou will definitely give Floyd rounds! Floyd should call on Castillo!

Your right. Thompson has also been a highly touted prospect. Very talented individual. Clearly not a nobody

He, Castillo that is, aint strong enough or fast enough these days to replicate Rick, he throws plenty to the body in fairness....but there is better out there to work with for Floyd...
Does the choosing of Ndou mean Floyd is taking Rick as a very serious threat...I think he should, but I still fear the worst for Rick in this one sadly....hope Im wrong though.. :badass:

Knocked out in 3 rounds by Grady Brewer and beaten by Yuri Foreman . No offence guys but he hardly walks on water ;D

Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
Since rick is now affiliated with Golden boy u reckon De la Hoya would be offerin his services as sparring partner? ^-^
I don't think so either...

Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
Although The golden boy openly wants a fight with Hatton?

Thats not the point, you trashed the level of sparring partner he chose and called him a nobody, last time I checked with the exception of Shane Mosely I dont and your middle of the pack guys, I wouldnt consider a respectable young prospect with 2 losses a nobody, especially as sparring partners go
-
Re: Floyd to work with Ndou!
perhaps it is mayweather that was requested as sparring partner in this case...Sparring with him could reap huge benefits without much risk of gettin hurt.
