Why do Erik & MAB hate eachother so much?

i only saw the last fight, so im not really caught up with the hatred.

i mean from the last topic i read erik in pacmans corner?
that means he wants to see marco down the the floor by pacman even if hes not the man to do it....lol

can some1 ans the question pls? =)

Barrera hit Morales in press conference i believe theres always been bad clood there.

yea theres always been bad blood. it all started in mexico, its always been erics people vs barreras people. I'm sure between the lines many things true or false has been heard and has escalated the whole situation. its an ongoing battle,only if we could hear everything between the two.

na,

it was mainly downt ot he first fight, most who watched it will say marco won, but erik got he UD... i believe after it erik went to give marco one his beltt as a sign of respect for the war they fought (it was close but barrera should of go the UD)

ofc barrera was very pissed off and very outspoken about it and erik didn't like it, it all stemmed from there...

The hatred started when Barerra called eric a stuip indian as at the time Eric was the one seen as the next best thing in Mexican boxing and I guess Barerra was not pleased.

Just to clarify, Eric's heritage is that of an indigenous mexican indian whilst Barerra is a decendant of the Europeans (Spanish) who colonised and settled in Latin America.

1. After the first fight, Erik said in the postfight that it was a great fight, Barrera was a great fighter, and that he owed Barrera a rematch.
Then Barrera went for his interview and said that Morales was overrated and that he didn't deserve to get the decision, etc. So that started it.

2. Barrera grew up in an upper middle-class suburb of Mexico City, Morales grew up dirt poor in Tijuana. There's a big disconnect in Mexican culture between Mexico City and the rest of the country.

Heres my take, Eriks from La Zona Norte in Tijuana of Indegenous decent. I've described Zona Norte many times before that place in short it's possibly the lowest of living. Streets filled with filth, drugs, sex, murder, crime. MAB is from Mexico, City who lived in a middle class family and was well educated of Spanish decent.
2 complete opposites. Leading to their 1st fight in an interview done by Erik, he (Erik) said he would beat and batter MAB for 12 rounds. MAB in reply/return commented to another Mexican station insinuating that Erik didn't know what he was talking about that he was confused and that it must have something to do with who he is and where he is from.
From then on it was a battle of words, back and forth.
You then have the press conference scuffle.
And finally after Erik was announced the winner in their 1st fight, MAB walked over to Eriks corner to shake his hand and congratulate him only to be received by water thrown at him by Erik.

i know there was so muchshit with these and all scribes trying to blow shit out of the water to sell it even more, but i seen these a million times and im 99% sure it all kicked after after the first fight when marco was saying he got robbed and clearly won...

before it was the usual pre fuight im going to KO u et etc didn't they try play on the fact morales beat JR jones who twice beat barrera?

other than that there was no real bad bloo,d just the usual pre fight, after the fight the words started and then puches thrown in the build up to fight II...

yea once it started it never stoppd ofc... the war of words got worse, in the build up to the second fight in the rpesser i think morales had said something to barrera like hit me so he got up and smacked him lol

after the second fight also morales give barrera shit for "not fighting like a mexican" so much really but mianly it was just down to a war of words...

(oh it didn't help barrerawon the second when most thought morales won it either lol even though there were "rightly" 1-1 most will say they both won the wrong fights...)

God just look how they fight each other in the ring, It's probably a mixture of all of those reasons, but if you see footage of the two guys together at press conferences + interviews, they just hate each other with a passion. It's boxing rivalry at its most vicious and from it emerged 3 of the greatest fights we have ever witnessed. It's tribal, like Man Utd and Liverpool, just absolute hatred in it's purest yet healthiest form.

I remember eric said, he treats people the way they treat him or something like that. so I guess eric feels he never got the repect he deserve from barrera.

I think the first fight belong to mab bkuz eric was almost out on his feet. then the second fight eric owned mab. and then in the third it should of been a draw,too close to make a conclusion for a great trilogy between two great fighters.

After their first meeting Morales got credited with the victory however contraversial. He was such a gentlemen about it he walked over to Barrera's room and handed him congradulation's out of sportsmanship. Barrera wrongly interpreted it as Morales conceding the victory. Barrera seems to have gained the favor of the fans by way of his popularity and his winning the deciding fight.

It's really difficult to identify who started their hatred for each other. For all we know, it might be the media who hyped things and made stories to increase their animosity for each other.

Thats why Erik doesn't like Barerra :) He answered it himself :-*

Barrera does not belong in the same ring with me. He is nothing but hype and an HBO tool.

But it is no secret, that CHILANGOS are hated by the rest of the Mexican people. Chilangos are like New Yorkers. lol

Although IMO, Barrera does not act like a dirty rotten Chilango nor does he have the strong annoying accent that Chilangos have. (I am not saying it's not noticeable because it is) Just not right off the bat.
People who don't know Spanish, or have never been to Mexico and who have never met a Chilango, will have no phuking clue what this is all about. But some peope here have summed it up. There will always be a hatred for those who live in the big city La Capital DF. ;D

Who cried robbery after his loss to JMM and made excuse after excuse for his loss to JJ and Manny Pac.Who punched Mckinney at the press conference? Who hit JMM when he was down(and should have been dqed/docked a point)?

Just like I don't buy the Oscar whole i can do no wrong image,same with MAB.It's the whole HBO thing:when you hear Larry Merchant saying MAB invited him for tea,when you hear MAB say he'll root for Morales v Pac but look at some of the incidents I listed. Actions speak louder than words. Morales is made out to be the bad guy but when has Erik tried to hit someone at a press conference or tried to hit someone when they are CLEARLY down?

When you put it like that, it's hard to disagree.... LOL. Again, my perception has always been based on incidents where it's Eric lashing out at Barrera. I think it was after either their 1st or 2nd fight, where I saw Barrera trying to be civil to Morales... and Morales had to be restrained by his corner. Again, sometimes perceptions can be skewed if you don't have all the facts.

But THIS is the way I like to argue.... civilly and with respect. Have a well-earned CC for that, my friend.

CC back brother. I totally agree,it's about preceptions too but the difference is,people like us and others are smart enough to know when we are being shown manufactured crap. I may not have all the facts either but to me,that is what it looks like.

I just saw the clip of Barrera taking a swing at Morales at a press conference (or publicity event?), and I gotta admit... it surprised me. I haven't seen that side of MAB too many times. Even so, he's still one of my alltime favorite Mexican fighters.

I have observed this too. There's too much hyping on BArrera while they are forgetting JMM.
