Logic is to build up testosterone and energy and be in prime condition for fight.
Psychologically it builds a state of readiness and also as Lennox so eloquently put it "gives u something to look forward to."
I'm a believer.
Oh...I thought you were going to ask how many of us have had sex while watching boxing. I'll close this thread now... ;DQuote:

Too much sex weakens your legs.
Thats close to the truthQuote:

thanks for all the info guys much appreciated as well as the funny comments ;D

Well it is a medical fact that sex too close to a fight....( unlike the old days when it was rumored you should go weeks without it) causes the whole body to be weak for a brief time....You should not have sex at least a week before fighting.....
Believe it or not there are a lot and I mean a lot of vitimins and such your body looses at the big moment :o....
Takes a bit to build back up.....Plus the natrual aggression that builds up from not getting any
IF they shouldnt have sex before a fight why dont they just get married, they will never have to worry about it again. ;DQuote:

I can't stand without sex for 1 month. I can't imagine how much these boxers are suffering.....
I generally back off of the nookie about a week before a fight.
One thing I can say is that it definitely robs your thigh muscles of energy.
Nookie the night before having interval running the next morning = bad juju....ow.
The amount of energy u save is amazing, and it jus builds aggresion! 3 weeks anyway mos def...
what about having a wank?
I think it's the same. If I do it right before working out, I won't be worth a shit, whether it's running, lifting weights, punching the bag or shadowboxng, or anything. Depending on how long it's been since you last wacked, or what you're thinking about, it may not be as bad as actually having sex, but you still dont' want to do it before a fight.Quote:

I thought this was just a myth!!! Anyone know the science behind it,I mean what does ejaculating weaken and why?
You get rid of a ton of vitamins minerals ect all in one shot almost like your body goes from a high to a low in just a few seconds....Quote:

You lose all your adrenalin and testosterone that is stored up.....
Ever notice right after sex that first few seconds your body feels so relaxed and at times even a bit tired?.........
Yeah man,I see that lol. Have a cc for the explanation brother!Quote:

Team one came back after their sex with their girlfriends and actually performed better and more relaxed and won the game ;D
So I wouldn't know what to think.
Apparently part of Oscar's training sessions include having sex with his wife but not climaxing and that apparently works better then just going without it :dontknow:
Only thing is in Soccer you are not getting hit in the head all night.....Quote:

It fucks up your psychology. Just stay away from it for a week. I read a scientific study once that says that your body peaks its testosterone levels after 7 days of abstinence. However, if you go to long without it your test will drop. I dont know the exact time period but, it doesnt matter just be moderate. I personally try to be strategic with it in training lol. Do it the night before you have your rest day.
I think most people on the board will agree it affects their aggression, motivation. I personally just dont feel like doing anything especially if its too frequently. The more you do it the more less motivated and aggressive you will feel. less energy.
I've always felt weaker on the weights if I did it before lifting. Just cant tense up my muscles as well because of whatever chemicals are released. Definetly feel the weakness in the knees and not as springy.
I agree though that if you generally dont do it much, then doing it once wont have asmuch affect as if you were gettin down everynight.
As for that study, if you need to be relaxed, and are competing in a non-combat sports than it might help you, but its definetly not gonna help when you got someone determined to whoop your ass standing across from you.
It doesn't help that boxing brings the aggression out of most of us. I don't know if this applies to the ladies. ;)
:coolclick: for that good answer.Quote:

Just wondering, would this be the same in women
Think about it... for one they are wired different than us and for two they don't lose anything... :P
I'm guessing hormones still have an effect but it's more physical... so it depends how much they put out! ;)
Saw on a tee shirt yesterday "Its not easy being easy".
