FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
The freaking Nascar event is over and Judah is on next :D
-
Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over...
It's been on since 7:30pm over here on the west coast.
You missed the heavyweight opening fight where the Cuban go dq'ed for street fighting on about 8 different occasions.
-
Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over...
I'm ready to see Zab disappear out of the boxing map. 8)

When I turned it on it was just showing the slow mo replay of the last punch behind the head....I can't believe that guy has had 3 losses by DQ for the same thing...You would think his camp might focus on that ???

Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)

I agree...You would think Judah would be trying to make a statement :-\...Instead of letting Vasquez be in the fight....I swear you would think this guy watched Teddy's fight tips because he is following it well moving to his left and jabbing at the eye where Judah was cut

Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
What is happening right now? I dont have a tv if you all would do a rough RBR?
-
Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
3-1 for Zab.
If Vasquez was just a little bit busier he'd have Zab allover the ring.

He's doing the smartest thing possible and getting some work in tonight. The dumbest thing he could possibly do would be to go in there and get a quick knockout.
Every time Zab throws a punch, it's very effective. He can put this guy away whenever he wants.
I'm seeing a more mature, disiplined Judah tonight.

This guy is no KO puncher...The last thing Judah needs to do is look like a guy like this can give him a fight that will hurt his credibility....But as we see Judah id starting to tear him apart now

I disagree. This is exactly what Zab should be doing. When Zab fought Galvan as his tuneup for the Cotto fight, he came right out and tried to KO him in the 1st round and look flashy, when what he should have been doing is getting rounds under his belt.
Zab is a two-time champ, he doesn't need a quick KO of this journeyman to make a statement, he needs to put together several effective rounds, control the fight methodically, and then go for a KO if it comes to him.

Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
Why wasn't this in the prediction contest?? At least it is a fighter I have heard of......

If this was a better caliber of fighter mate I would agree but in all reality this guy isn't even a gate keeper....Anything he does make Judah look as though he is struggling with a lower caliber fighter.....
If I am not mistaked Judah looks a bit like he is getting tired.....Plus the cut from the headbutt

And I could easily flip this around, and say that because this opponent isn't world-class, an early KO doesn't prove anything for Zab, because people will just say, "That guy was a journeyman, KOing him doesn't prove anything."
Zab doesn't need to make statements, he needs to get work in and put together one successful round after another. That's why he scheduled this fight, to get work in.

Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
Oh! come on people Zab should have blasted this guy out already...
Hes 22-10 for gods sake. >:mad

Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
I have the fight 3-3 even.
-
Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
How Teddy gave Zab round 2 is beyond me.
Vasquez clearly out punched and out landed Zab in that round.

I don't see how anybody could possibly think that Judah is anywhere close to struggling in this fight.
The other guy is lucky if he has even won two rounds in this fight. Zab is putting on a clinic.

Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
Let's get 1 thing straight when a fighter who is supossed to be in the top ranked Welters struggles against a 22-10 whos 2-2 in his last 4 fights.
frozen, Zab started putting on a clinic after the 6th/7th but those early rounds were far from clinic vasquez out jabbed Zab and was beting him to the punch. Zab countered well but it wasn't no clinic, the clinic started in the 6th round.

At what point in this fight was Judah ever struggling?? It was a damn good display of boxing by Zab Judah. He probably won 8 out of 10 rounds.
Of course, I'd have liked to see him knock the guy out but I'm not too disappointed with the fight overall.

Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
On another thread they have Judah losing!!!
-
Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
I had it 6-4 for Zab 96-94.
How one judge had it 100-90 for Zab is beyond me.

I would like to see that one for myself....Judah was in no way losing the fight but he did not look good early at least until the second half of the 6th....
When he started to showboat with the slicing the nect and toe the line crap I was almost hoping he got caught

any1 able to post this fight on
i couldn't watch it my cable is out ....-_-

Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
meant to post this here
I had it 7-3 for Zab
Vazquez was game, very tough, very composed. It was a bit disappointing that Judah did not score a KO, but he controlled the fight and it was still exciting.
Sadly, I think Zab's time at the top is at an end. Vazquez is definitely tougher than his record shows, but his record is poor enough that a world class fighter shouldve been able to KO him.
I think if Zab meets Margarito it will be an easy late ko for Tony. Judah keeps his hands so damn low..he was getting hit with A LOT of Vazquez's jabs.

Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
I know people are quick to dismiss punchtrack but the final numbers on the fight were very similar. Judah had only a slight edge on number of punches landed and percent landed. Though his carried a lot more power.
And judah is still fast but not fast enough to underestimate an opponent and use NO defense. I was worried he was going to get sparked, especially since vazquez gave such a good showing.

The only guys to ever knockout Vasquez were a young Acelino Freitas, Ricardo Torres, and some guy named Negron. I checked boxrec after the fight.

This is exactly why punchstat numbers are pretty meaningless.
If you saw the fight, then you know that Judah won it pretty convincingly.
Punchstat numbers are a measure of a fighters activity, not effectiveness.

Re: FNF On The Air.....NASCAR Over... (Zab vs. Vasquez)
How great was it to see Judah flipped the bird in the round he said he would end it and then not be able to get the guy out of there? :D
If it weren't for Lamont Peterson being such a stuf then that would have been my favorite part of the night.

Damn it I had to switch laundry and missed it. How did this end? Did Santos quit on the stool?

Tell me which elite Welterweights Judah can beat ?? he always folds underpressure he is weak mentally and he won this fight yes but so what who was this guy ?? journeyman with an almost 50-50 record.
And by the sounds of it he even struggled in this fight.
