Whenever Graham has trouble sleeping at night I wonder if he calls Julian Jackson for help?

Every loss he had was unlucky well except for Chris Johnson loss but i haven't seen that anyway losing razor thin decision to McCallum losing and again losing close decision to Sumbu Kalambay losing by ko to Jackson when he dominated him and Jackson's corner was about to stop the fight then overhand right boom all over and his loss to Brewer that was unbelievable he floored Brewer 3 times and got stopped in the 10th one of the unluckiest boxers of all time.Quote:

Hagler was for the taking ?? he had just beat Hearns and Mugabi Leonard won razor thin decision in which people are split 50-50 over the fight i wouldn't call that getting outboxed and Hagler hit Leonard with some good shots even though Graham was skilled his chin was always suspect and Hagler would get to that chin eventually you can't keep ducking a moving your way out of trouble especially against someone of Hagler's class.Quote:

People would have rightly said that Hagler was beaten at the right place at the right time. However Herol was never that lucky on the world stage.
Herol was a defensive master for sure but beat Marvin ?
i really dont think a guy with mainly head movement , and not a dancer , would give Marvin to much trouble. Hagler would simply hammer the body till he could get Herol's head ,
Marvin wins KO 7
I loved Herol Bomber Graham. At school nobody liked him because all my mates liked in your face power punchers. Graham was a top bloke and great to watch. off the top off my head I cant think of anyone more unlucky not to win a title.
I once read that as a party trick he would put a broadsheet newspaper on the floor, stand on one side and invite a member of the public to stand on the other and try to hit him. It may be an urban legend but the stories of him going unscathed during this trick wouldnt suprise me.
Actually, this was a trick of an Aussie Boxer named Young Griffo who fought in the 19th century, although he would place a hankie on the floor of a bar and dodge punches for drinks. He was a brilliant boxer but a severe pisshead so never reached the heights he should have.Quote:

Definitely one of the unluckiest boxers in memory - the guy was a genius. Kalambay and McCallum were both absolute top class and he had a shout in both fights. Th Brewer fight broke my heart :'(
His career is overshadowed by the solitary image of him being caught by one of boxings most famed punches.
Hagler v Graham isnt as easy for Hagler as many think. I remember Finnigan giving Marvin fits in there 2 fights, Finnegan being in front before cuts.
Someone agrees with me at least. It is not impossible but the time may have been right. I know he blew his number one spot by loosing to Kalambay, and believe he had personal problems including Ingle not being in his corner. Also against McCallum he got disqualified a point which was unfair and that would have made the fight a draw. Eubanks and Benn would not have dared fought McCallum and we all saw what he did to Watson. Herol Graham was the best of that generation but did not earn the fame and fortune that Benn and Eubanks did.
I heard he reads your posts ;)Quote:
