Audley Harrison to fight Hatton's bodyguard
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7004767.stm
Apparantly he's lost his last 13 fights so on paper this should be pretty close ;D
Actually I'm going to get behind Audley from now. Yes he was arrogant and over confident but I think we can say that's been well and truly knocked out of him now.
Few boxers with undisputed level aspirations have been humbled as much as Harrison and the fact he's still fighting on makes me think he has more heart than given credit for.
I'll be rooting for him at least.

hehe I can sense a rematch with Julius Francis before Christmas!
A win there will probably be enough to get him a shot at the winner of Skelton Williams and a ride on the merrygoround again.

I thought Francis quit boxing and was in MMA.
Harrison should fight Sprott again if he has the bottle to fight him again anyway :-\

nah I'm just joking about francis as he's lost about his
last 30 fights. ;)
Being totally serious though I can see him fighting Sprott in January and kicking his ass.

Re: Audley Harrison to fight Hatton's bodyguard
I'm with you on this Bilbo i'm going to root for Harrison. He has the ability to do something but it just doesn't happen for him for some reason. He showed in the first round against Sprott he is still a threat and I actually can see him winning a Sprott rematch.
Good Luck Audley ;D

:coolclick: Glad to see he's got two supporters at least. If he succeeds we at least can be pleased for him.
And if he fails I'm still happy to join in the laughter with everyone else so it's a win win for me :D

What ability ?? and secondly that was 1 round against a journeyman he done well and that shows he is a threat ?? you also forget to mention the journeyman Sprott coming on in 2nd round then winning the 3rd round by but outjabbing Harrison he has never had ability beating a 40 year old Francis and a Danny Williams who came in at like 6 days notice wasn't it ?? and basically was a punch bag is nothing to shout about.

Re: Audley Harrison to fight Hatton's bodyguard
ICE COLD an olympic gold medal. Easily winning first round agaibst EBU champ Sprott with good uppercuts and put him on the canvas, and you can't take nothing away from Harrison's performance against Williams the way he totally demolished him despite Williams coming in VERY late.
I can see where your coming from ICE COLD but I still feel Audley could beat Sprott in a rematch as he was a total PRICK letting his hands down in that 3rd round and underestimating Sprott but with a good motivation etc I still feel he's in with a shout within the British heavyweights as Skelton and co are nothing special, come on!!
And again if he loses AFTER his fight with Paul King ICE you can slate him and me all you want for believing in him but's thats just my opinion mate but it will certainly change if he gets another defeat on his record especially against a Brit heavyweight I can tell u that ;D
CC back Bilbo by the way

Why would he even bother? He's had one fight since and it was against a higher quality opponent then Audley.
Audley is done. I'm sick of hearing his name, really I am.

You're right. I forgot how exciting of a fighter Audley is. Sometimes I don't know what to watch, Corrales - Castillo or Audley - Guinn.

To be honest mate Sprott is a journeyman fighter whose spent virtually his entire career in complete obscurity. His shock win over Audley catapualted him into the domestic heavyweight picture but his showing against Skelton sent him right back to no mans land again.
Audley's career mey be a joke but he's still an Olympic Gold Medallist and will therefore always be a point of discussion in the British heavyweight scene.
Right now Sprott needs Harrison just as much as Harrison needs him, probably more.
Audley could get a Williams rematch, win the British title and he's back in the picture again, he doesn't even need Sprott to get back.
Sprott on the other hand...who cares? The only opponent anyone would be interested in watching him fight is Audley Harrison.
I actually see it completely the opposite to you and can picture Sprott calling Harrison out soon rather than the other way around.

Well Audley looked pretty impressive against Williams and was looking good against Sprott before he was caught and he could have given Skelton a more exciting and better fight. Thats my opinion but the roll Audley was on(Williams Sprott) wasn't a boring one at all. And I think a better fight would have happened if Harrison fought Skelton.
And I agree with Bilbo on what he said too

Re: Audley Harrison to fight Hatton's bodyguard
You've got to bear in mind that Audley is no spring chicken. I forget exactly but isn't he mid to late thirties? He doesn't have much time to get into the world title mix. Obviously he can certainly still mingle in with the British scene but his world title aspirations are looking less and less likely
-
Re: Audley Harrison to fight Hatton's bodyguard
I think he's 35.
Jeez, can't the guy just slip away and not do this? Frankly, I think it's a bit embarrassing.
Anyway, for when he slides down another rung....A guy I know at work says his brother-in-law knows someone who said he knew a mate of an ex-British Heavyweight (no idea who). Perhaps one of them knows someone who wants to beat Audley up? :D
BTW, I never rated Audley (does it show?)

Williams was a punchbag and was asked to fight on like 6 days notice like i said nothing to really shout about.
Sprott is a journeyman i think people need to realize who Harrison was looking good against for 2 and a bit rounds and why are people forgetting that Sprott was coming on at the end of round 2 and was winning 3rd round easy as pie.

What makes you think that Harrison will be more humble from now on?
As far as I can see, it's the same old Audley; fighting half dead cruiserweights, once or twice a year & not looking good doing so.
If Harrison was any kind of man, he'd have been shouting for Sprott 2, the second the ring doctor passed him fit after Sprott had flaked him out.
Why disappear for months then come back & fight a bodyguard?
Audley might as well go & be a bodyguard (a spineless one) or bouncer, because that's all he's good for.

Alright Syntax,
Yeh, agree with you regarding Audley's opposition.
The British Boxing Board of Control has ordered a rematch between Harrison and Sprott for the 'English' Heavyweight title. So they may fight again.
