Michael Watson vs Chris Eubank 1
Carl Thompson on the undercard of the Ricky Hatton Carlos Maussa fight. Robbery against a French blown up SM.
I gave it to Watson by 1 point, but had Eubank winning 5 of the first 6 - don't see it as a robbery.Quote:

Lots of "robberies" aren't robberies at all.. I reckon that term gets thrown about far too much.
Remember i was ringside, jus me n my cuz and i was rootin for Thompson, i dont think he justifiably won four rounds, got a unanimous verdict :oQuote:

The second fight is a better indication of who the superior fighter was, as both men were in peak shape for that one.
And it was Watson. When Eubank missed a shot, he didn't have the balance to come back with another one. When Watson missed, he had the skill to come back with another shot. That was basically the difference alnight, along with Watson moving faster forwards than Eubank was backwards and punching at close quarters and in the clinches to boot (perfect fight to beat Eubank, not allowing Chris to pinch breaks he needed anywhere).
No one thought Eubank won that night and like said to you before DD and i'll say it again Eubank did not win first 6 rounds no way and he lost every round after 6th round.Quote:

So around 5,000 people were willing to pay money to vote that Eubank won that fight, general British public
It's said that on one side of the ring, every person in every row were convinced Eubank had won every round bar the 10th! While on another side of the ring, many thought Watson had won every round!
From the TV cameras, to me it looks like Eubank clearly. Eubank's an honest bloke, and he said (at the time) after viewing the tape that he thought he won clearly and asked people to watch it with the sound off
Eubank had a lot of dodgy decisions when he held the WBO title, and he all but says it that he had to be knocked out to loose the title as he made money for the organisation and they were not going to see him loose.
Cooper v Bugner
The biggest Robbery in a British fight was the Bruno Witherspoon show.Where one Ex fighter took£ 35,000 of tickets and Knocked Micky Duff for the money got 3 years. ;D
I heard about that being robbery can anyone tell me if Cooper really did get robbed and by how many rounds ??Quote:
