Im not sure BIG H because never seen Pavlik at Supermiddleweight but he should be able to make the weight easy so i say Pavlik wins Calzaghe would break his hands on Pavlik's hard head and with Pavliks power and Calzaghe's leaky defence that smells like disaster ;)Quote:

good fight but Calzaghe would dominate him as long as he is carefull..
After the beating Kessler gives him, Pavlik would beat Calzaghe with relative ease.
Calzaghe could outbox Pavlik,Taylor was causing him problems with his fast hands and so would Calzaghe. But its the same story with Joe if he hurts his hands there is no way he could keep Pavlik off him with 1 hand.It will be a hard task with both hands cause Pavlik has dynamite in his right hand.
you can never write the ghost off but i think a tip top joe calzaghe would beat pavlik but how often is he 100% so it would be a gd fight with alot of action
ill go with Mr Calzaghe
For the record - I said Pavlick "Today" - Didn't say I think he would win ;)
Calzaghe simply too fast and skilled for Pavlik, throws too many punches for the Ghost to handle and i cant possibly see him winning via KO, Calzaghe has proved his durability over an entire career.
Hopefully we can get this on, especially after JC easily outpoints Kessler ;D
Ok another question, if Calzaghe beats Kessler AND Pavlik is he p4p number 1 in the sport?
Actually a very simple reason why Pavlik CANNOT beat JC.
Its pretty clear from the Taylor fight that Pav's main and pretty much only weapon is his right hand, well thats gonna be fuckin useless against a southpaw, especially one who has such excellent footwork and technical skills as JC. pavlik is all about his jab-right combo for power, against a lefty that aint gonna work to well. Pav would have to lunge to get the right around and that leaves him open for the counter, something JC is very good at, he loves come forward fighters.
Calzaghe isnt even close to being number 1 if he beats Kessler
And Pavlik eats Joe alive if they fight
IF he beats them,he is dam sure as hell close.Quote:

People don't realise that. He worked on a game plan v Lacy,to not let him set,use angles. I'm sure he could make a plan for Kelly too although the question is whether JC could take his punch. I don't think he'd let Pavlik set and would win a UD but I'd like to see Kelly@168 and JC v Kess.
He'd be very closeQuote:

Useless against Calzaghe ?? uhh bud Calzaghe gets caught with right hands all the time thats his weakness so i don't know what your on about he was decked with a right hand against Salem he was caught many times with right hands vs Reid and he was caught plenty of times vs Woodhall with right hands so your arguement there is totally wrong.Quote:

Calzaghe win by decision IMO. Would be a helluva fight.
both calzaghe and kessler would ruin pavlik, he has nothing but power... shit i new this would happen if he won, its always the same.
I havent seen many calzaghe fights but the few I've seen, he has huge stamina and just punches and punches, I think it might be tuff for pav against him, not saying Pav couldnt win, but hed face a guy bigger, probably stronger , just as skilled, more experienced and who has just as much heart as pav does. I'd pull for pavlik and hope he would whip calzags arse cause hes my fellow american
Pavlik late KO
lets not touch this until we see the JC vs Kess fight think we are jumping the gun just a bit dont you think
I'd put Pavlik over JC
JC over Kessler
Kessler over Pavlik
I have become a huge believer in Calzhage. I was not always...before I thought he was a fluke that if he ever fought outside of England he would be exposed.
no more....the man is a phenom, a freak of nature. He just does not stop punching, he never tires and he is an efficient strong puncher. Age is the only thing that will beat him.
Calzaghe is not a strong puncher at all.Quote:

Calzaghe or Kessler would destroy him.
Why's that ?? he beat a very talented fighter like Jermain Taylor in his prime who fought at his best.Quote:

I do agree that he doesnt hit that hard and most of his punches are more like slaps but the simple fact is technically Calzaghi is much better than Pavlick whom is one dimentional and will throw 1-2's with a big right hoping it lands
Agreed, but I think Calzaghe and Kessler are better fighters than Taylor and if he gets popped by Kessler then he won't recover. I like Pavlik, he showed enormous courage to comeback and win against TaylorQuote:

Having said all that and believing Taylor was ahead at the time of the KO i don't think Pavlik would lose a rematch. This loss will hurt Taylor's confidence. I would go for a Calzaghe UD against Pavlik and a Kessler stoppage against Pavlik.
Calzaghe open his hips too much when trying to throw a power shot. Squaring your body up like that leaves you open. He pitter patters his punches in bunches and I think Pavlik would have him inside of 6 rounds. I think Pavlik has more power than Kessler.
First Calzaghe has to get by Kessler , and im not sure hes going too , but i havent to well this year picking fights. I would pick Calzaghe over pavlik though.
The thing that i cant really understand is how Pavlik has gone from the 1# Contender to beating JT ,who is a very good fighter but defense was a little sloppy and stamina wasnt great, to the f**kin Terminator Koing everyone from Winky to Calzaghi in 6 round. I give Pavlik credit but he is too open to be a great champion.
I have him beat Winkey but i not sure of Cal and Kess just yet we will see just wait a year
Pavlick could be an awesome fighter if his defense was a bit better and he had more variety to his boxing. The thing is if plan A dont work hes f**ked thats why i would favour a good technician over him all the time.
Pavlik's no Winky for sure, but his defense is pretty good. He manages to block alot of shots or get them to glance off him. Though, he really needs to learn to bring that jab back faster and not measure so much with it; also keep his left hand up higher. He did eat many right hands last night, not as many in the 6th and 7th, but still too many. He'll learn one way or the other.
Calzaghe rips him into oblivion.  Are you serious???
Calzaghe is a better distance fighter then Pavlik, he throws more and hits harder.
How would Pavlik stand a chance against someone who is bigger and stronger with a higher work rate and a better outside game? Pavlik's style is against him in that fight. Nobody is going to beat Calzaghe fighting at a distance unless your name is mikkel kessler.
I agree. I see Kessler taking Calzaghe out early.Quote:
