Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
Here we have "Tyson Conqueror"(thier words not mine) Kevin "the colossus" McBride and his trainer Buddy McGirt talking about McBride's upcoming fight this Sat Night against another fighter on the comeback trail Andrew Golota....I posted this link just to show how sad the heavyweight picture is getting when you have the reporter in this link talking about how a win for either guy might get them into the title mix for 2008......i mean come on...i aint normally the type to be bitchy but it sickens me when u hav sumbody like McBride thinking he's sumthin when he's not!!!..jst coz 2 and half years ago he had a bout wi Tyson and Tyson quit on his own accord not becoz of anythin McBride had dun...that woz the poorest ever showing by Tyson..ever!,yet Tyson woz still ahead on 2 of the judges scorecards despite being deducted 2 points for a headbutt and also since then McBride has bn K'O'D in the 2nd round by sum1 called Mike Mollo!!!.... ::**...and now McBride on the comeback trail is talking abt being the new cinderalla man and hopefully gettin a title shot in 2008.... ::** ::**

Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
I wouldn't worry too much, McBride will probably get smoked inside 3 rounds anyways.
His next big fight will probably be a 2008 clash with Audley Harrison or John McDermott.

Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
McBride actually has people over here thinking he's a good fighter. He's an absolute disgarce and i hope he gets knocked out (again.)
Harsh Words i no but he's a sham.

Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
I wouldn't wish poorly on any fighter, but McBride has really ticked me off.
In an interview in the Irish Daily star, following nearly a years inactivity after a KO loss, he claimed he was going to be the best heavyweight in the world and i think even unification was mentioned. I mean publicity is publicity but this...from McBride?
Even worse is, the general public-non-familiar with boxing are actually led to believe he may be a world beater!!!

Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
Yeah, as if the HW division didn't have enough problems, we've got this bozo trying to convince the public he's gonna make waves by beating an old coulda been! What a travesty! ::**

Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
McBride will get crushed, Golota looks like he might have a shot at getting back in the picture. He is freaking huge now! Just his size gives him a chance. The guy is a monster. He should have more power it would seem.

Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
no way Mcbride wins, Golata by KO!
-
Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
He will be a stepping stone, one that he will trip over and fall flat on his big red face.
-
Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
Golota is nut house crazy, however if he can keep it together mentally . he will win. andrew carries a heavy hand , has more experiance and a high level determination .

imthinking.................................hehe... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .......................
vs Corey Sanders late 1990's, it was a blistering match, Golata was even hit low a few times and kept his cool...
LOL if you run a across a copy this match watch it.. excellent action. Golotas best performance i think
also Corey Sanders best performance. Sanders came to play ball !

Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
Golata has the physical tools that could beat anybody. His heart, desire and discipline have always been in other places though.
His offensive skillset was amazing though. Heavy Handed, Combinations, and good hand speed for his size.
He has always been one I wanted to watch, because on any given day, he has the ability to have a big fight go his way. If his head was on straight, he would have been so tough to beat.

Cool click ! very true... His weakness was he would fall apart when pressed. .. when things didn’t go how he planned , He would just flat short circuit , off to biting kicking and scratch almost a comedy really in the Gym the guy was a nutter literally . . .. A very strange person to be around , I guess we all have our demons, some people are just better equipped at controlling them !

If there was one man who I would doubt being able to cross a set of stepping stones over a small stream it would be Kevin McBride ;D

Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
McBride weighed 288. Hell be tired after one round and get ktfo
-
Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
cc back Bilbo. Honestly though I do give McBride a chance but it really lies on what Golata does. Golata is known for beating himself so who knows with him.
-
Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
Kevin McBride is not even european class , is i slow , has a glass jaw and no stamina.
In their respective primes Golota KO McBride in 1 min flat ,
McBride wouldnt even have beat BUTTERBEAN :)
now golota wins inside 4

Of course that was against a very out of shape Jeremy Bates, that only showed up at the arena for the promise of a largish check when he woke up.

Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
I find it interesting that guys like Golota or McBride could be considered as title challengers but in this day and age it seems like there are more freakshow attractions than real challengers. I mean how could McCline be ina title shot after being defeated earlier this year against a title holder who himself has been beaten since. I know that in the past, way in the past, some challengers got title for the oddest reasons--like the last guy James Jeffires defended his title against before retiring the first time had supposedly decked Jeffries in an exhibition which was the ballyhoo around the title match. At this point I'd rather see all the champions fight each other til we have one undisputed champ again.

To be fair to McCline he did suffer an injury to his kneecap and was coming on strong in the fight with Valuev.

Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
Mcbride was not too bad for a fighter his size, Mcbride had good determination, carried some power on his shots .. put punches together early, almost had Golota several times early on .. he gassed out... One thing I would have done , was return fire on the Golota cheap shots after the bell. Golota did it every time,, hit after the bell, never warned. after a few rounds of that B.S. I would have made sure I was the one throwing the last punch in every round.. you can't let that happen over and over again.. its a mental thing.

I'm not to impressed with your sig message there Tam, there's no need to be like that....
As for McBride, looks like the only stepping stone that happened here was a stepping stone to retirement. ;)
-
Re: Kevin McBride hoping to use Golota as stepping stone this Sat Night....
At first he said he'd retire but then came back and said he's not gonna, some1's convincing him he's actually got something...Not very honest someone.

He's gone on holiday now ::**
What a sap. If he wanted/wants to be a professional fighter why doesn't he train accordingly?
