Two-time WBA heavyweight champion John “The Quietman” Ruiz (41-7-1, 28 KOs) has signed a contract to fight former WBO title-holder Serguei “White Wolf” Liakhovich (23-2, 14 KOs) on October 13 in Chicago. Ruiz and Liakhovich are rated No. 2 and No. 3 in the WBA, respectively. “I’ve been in Puerto Rico training for a fight here on October 31,” Ruiz said, “but, instead, last night I was offered a contract for a fight next week against Liakhovich.

Interesting fight because the winer will be right back in the mix I slightly favor Ruiz which is a bad thing cause that means Ruiz will want welcome back hugs from the other top heavyeights. I would love to see him fight Wlad though...or Tua again..........also Liakhovich is scheduled to fight Valuev after Ruiz.

The only drama in this fight is whether it will beat Liakhovich-Briggs for most boring fight ever.
you're probably right sweet pea, but maybe the liakovich that fought brewster can show up and hopefully make it a halfway exciting fight.

I would actually like to see this fight....... I love making fun of Ruiz but teh HW division is so shitty I think he deserves a fight again at this point.... I like SL too and the Briggs fight was a real bummer.
