sam peter the next great lol
....I did once compare him to David Izon and I guess he finally lived up to it
damn I think JM can pull this off, he exposed sam peter.
I can understand why Sam wouldn't bring his 'A-game' vs McCline especially considering the steroid scandal and the fact that Maskaev and the WBC stuff.
But I could also have understood Sam Peter coming in and destroying McCline in 1 just to prove a point.
I think Sam Peter will have to really show better in his title defense to turn some head because he didn't do very well vs Jameel. If I was a Sam Peter fan, I would be worried.
I doubt a Wladimir-Sam Peter rematch looks too good right now
I say that the guy had a bad night.
What's funny is that everyone dumps down on him after getting dropped 3 times to get up & close out the win.
I love people with klitschko in their name.....Quote:

Sam Peter is still a good fighter but that was a piss poor showing, he had better thank his lucky stars he didn't fight Oleg Maskaev!!!
But yes the point is that he still won despite having a horrible night
Doesn't say much about your boy Wlad either does it ??Quote:

Don't focus on Wlad, Wlad's last fight was PERFECT
Sam Peter is just getting the just rewards of having an off night in boxing....he has a lot to fix and the next time he can show everyone he's changed is the next time he fights.
Let's not focus on anyone who is a fan of Wladimir....I want Sam Peter to look good for a rematch too but if he fights like that he doesn't deserve one!
Well if Peter is so bad and got decked by such a light hitter like McCline then Wlad can't be that great getting decked 3 times by Peter and not even decking Peter once.Quote:

And honestly I want Sam Peter to do well so there can be a rematch...I'm just pointing out there's not much to be gained by fighting like that vs a journeyman like McCline
Im not trying to diss Wlad but this guy is taking the piss out of Peter but forgets Peter decking his boy 3 times he needs to remember that when he is taking the piss out of Peter ;)Quote:

Like I said in that other thread, McClines shoulder caused Peter to get knocked down the first time. When his face and McCline's shoulder collided Peter went off balance. After that Peter was shellshocked for the third round.
After Peter pulled it together McCline did nothing impressive but weigh 266+ pounds and tower over his opponent.
If mccline is a journeyman, so is byrd and brock.Quote:

Wlad hasn't even unified yet so don't get all high and mighty with this "People need to earn a shot against him" bullshit. I refer you to his last 2 mandatory matches: Ray austin (who drew with another journeyman and was rewarded with a title shot) and Calvin brock (untested up and comer who was exposed and hadn't really fought any top teir guys up to that point). Peter beat james toney twice in that span. What exactly do you have to do to deserve a shot at wlad? Protect your record? Pay off some council members? Not own a title? ???Quote:

Yea his body is his worst enemy man i mean that was the weirdest thing i have ever seen

Once he faced an apponent whom could take his one dimensional skills, he got his faced turned into hamburger.
To this day, anyone who says the 3 knockdowns were not attributed to rabbit punches did not watch that fight.
Yes peter got up from 3 knockdowns to win the fight, it shows me he has heart, which i like. However, HE GOT KNOCKED DOWN 3 TIMES FROM MCCLINE.
Peter gets knocked down 3 times to win, he has heart, but klitschko gets knocked down 3 times from rabbit punches and he has no chin lmao.
My point is, he has shown me nothing to say he is what everyone says he is. To me, from what ive seen so far, he is another one dimensional Heavy that will fade sooner than most of you think.
How can you blame wlad for the matches he has had? except for the briggs fight (which was only to revenge a loss, which is what lewis is praised for). We dont have anyone since lewis to unify, he's tryin, now he's gonna get bagged for it? He puts samuel peter on queer street, beats him 114-111 after 3 knockdowns, and peter shouldnt have to prove himself to fight klitschko?
The ONLY reason i want peter v wlad 2 is to shut the people up who thing wlad was legitamtely in trouble against peter.
You know, i figured peter would beat maskaev (only because that how i much i think of maskaev) but now im not so sure...
Samuel peter against a real heavyweight (not a blown up smw) with good sound boxing skills can dominate peter easily. The only thing is, there isnt a big crop of those to go around as of late.
You do know wlad had to fight him to keep one of his paper belts, for his attempt to unify right?Quote:

He's been "unifying" since april of 2006 and here's alittle side note you may have not noticed before:Quote:

Its not like those fights weren't out there to be made. There's 7 fucking fighters he could've fought to unify by now and it hasn't happened yet. His next fight better be a unification match. You wanna hound floyd for promising a knockout and not getting it but you put up with wlad just saying something for the sake of saying it over the past year and a half ::**.
Hey, those guys don't want to fight Wladimir....he can't force them to
There you have it ;)Quote:

Two words for all you Klitschko fans that keep bringing up McCline vs Peter...Corrie Sanders.
Wlad never jumped at the gun to rematch him & don't say it was because of Vitali either. While Sanders is a heavier hitter...Wlad took his lumps & said that it was a miscalculation...if you can't give Peter the benefit of the doubt for that & couple that with the fact that Peter is still learning...you're just being close minded...
& bitter that such a limited simplton as Peter dropped Wlad 3 times. ;)
Thats right he knocked Wlad down 3 times, that must be the pinnacle of his boxing career because thats all anyone knows him for.
Peter is young, strong and still learning...but he taken A LOT of very big shots; In the Wlad fight he was bludgeoned and the last round of that fight a Wlad left hook caused Peter to stagger badly which was more due to the accumulation of punches than the one shot, Against Toney it was the sheer number of Shots he absorbed (and yes he felt them) and against McCline the effects showed...JM is not a huge puncher and he hurt Peter many more times than just the 3 knockdowns and if JM was a good finisher ala Maskaev, Rahman, Tua, Vitali or Wlad, Peter would have never survived...Peter is slow, easy to hit, has decent skills and great power which will always make for an exciting fight...but he is in no way a fighter on the level of the Klitschko's...He will have to learn how to move his head far better if he's to make a title run or even a long career.
I often wondered what a fight between Tua and Peter would have looked like....I think I now know ;)
Thats his payment for toying with mmaQuote:

I won't disagree there...but saying the shock of Wlad was lesser than that of Peter gettin dropped...not for me.Quote:

Peter gettin dropped yeah...by McCline...not so much...but again...Peter did get up & win so it's a moot point to push I suppose.
It's just funny to me that a Klitschko fan refuses to credit Sanders, whom in his day was a danger man of the division.
....Corrie could still KO half the guys at the top of the division and on any given day he could KO Wladimir again
That being said I think Wlad has his A-game on and he'd crush Sanders now.
Let's see Nicolay Valuev fight someone as dangerous as Corrie Sanders!!!
Everyone knows Corrie. Sure, most people call him "the guy with the eye," but they know his history in the division.Quote:

wlad getting knocked down by corrie is valid, but vlad has proven his improvements. Samuel peter has beaten NO ONE! this powerhouse has only one name on his record Jeremy williams, who is best known for being a trainer on the contender.
im a wlad fan (obviously, i like both klitschkos). But samuel peter is a one dimensional fighter, and i ask anyone to show me otherwise.
And if you begin your reply with sentence that contains the words James toney, or 3 knockdowns then dont bother. ::**
...also if you look at who Jameel McCline has KO'd they don't have the best chins in the division
Marcus Rhode - KO'd 27 times in 32 losses
Dan Ward - KO'd 14 times in 19 losses
Andy Sample - KO'd 16 times in 16 losses
Steve Panell - KO'd 12 times in 12 losses
Wayne Llewelyn - KO'd 5 times in 6 losses
....you get the picture, and so being able to HURT and KNOCKDOWN Sam Peter is a faaaaaaar bigger deal than Sam Peter knocking Wladimir down or Corrie Sanders stopping Wlad.....it's something if I was a Sam Peter fan I would be very worried about.....here's a guy who knows how to punch but isn't blessed with the boxing skill of a Chris Byrd or Wladimir Klitschko and now his chin has been compromised by a feather fisted fighter....so this means without a solid defense (something that could take years for him to master or even be comfortable with) he just cannot fight and beat the top teir fighters in the division.

Or is it a bigger deal that Wlad could not hurt a one dimensional fighter like Peter? Don't get me wrong I too believe Wlad (and Vitali) are on another level than Peter skill wise....The one thing I got from this last fight with JM is that Sam Peter has taken far too many heavy punches and now looks more like David Izon than the fearsome beast that fought Wlad...Quote:
